Episode description

At a young age, Nadira Artyk knew she had a perspective and voice to share with the world. At 9, she saw writing as an outlet for her voice and submitted an article to the national newspaper for children in the Soviet Union and officially became a published writer. Fast forward several years, Nadira joined the BBC where her work shined as a journalist interviewing political leaders, celebrities, and travelling to war zones to cover a story. Except she started to notice that despite her success and accolades she was being passed up for promotions by her male peers.

Little did Nadira know that this experience to find and ultimately use her voice at the BBC would plant a seed for what would become her next career.

On this episode, Nadira shares how she:

  • Broke cultural norms to become an outspoken journalist
  • Shed limiting beliefs and behaviors so she could reach new heights in her career
  • Believes there is more than one career in all of us
  • And much more
