Episode description

The idea of squiggly line or non-linear careers has started to become a mainstream concept. With the help of social media platforms and podcasts we have more access than ever to learn about someone's winding journey. Except these journey's are shrouded in mystery. The pathways  only make sense in hindsight and it's easy to believe that it's great for them but that's not something in the cards for most people.  Even if you wanted to consider a career change were would you even begin?

For the last 2.5 years I have researched top female professionals. 72% of these women have made at least one major career change. Although the details varied throughout the journeys, there were consistent steps women would take to prepare for and ultimately make a career change. Those steps are:

  1. Seed
  2. Exploration
  3. Activation
  4. Build and Test
  5. Commit

On today's episode I'll share:

  • Actions to take during each step of the career change process
  • The difference between Forced vs. Chosen Career Changes
  • Shift in how we think about our career journeys

Enjoy!
