Episode description

Today, we have an awesome conversation with Justin Sunseri, host of the Stuck Not Broken Podcast.  Justin is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist that currently works in a school system and who is obsessed with the Polyvagal Theory. Justin talks to us about "The Ladder" analogy of your nervous system and how it affects all of us in a predictable manner every day.  We discuss what it means to feel psychologically safe and how you can be aware of and regulate your own state as well as how you can be a safe person for others. Learn to recognize your patterns of protection and connection and how you can "kick on your safety state". Teachers as safe people have the power to impact individual students every day. Check out the work of Dr. Stephen Porges and Deb Dana for more learning about the polyvagal theory.  Connect with Justin on his website justinlmft.com or on Instagram at justinlmft.
