It was another amazing year for the Space Cowboy and Sunset Promotions Ghostship event. I tip my hat to all of the event organizers who took things to the next level by bringing in some of the best sound, art, visual, and entertainment. I took the Hoe Down stage Friday at midnight to a packed dance floor ready to shake something loose. Special thanks to all of my Smells Like Teen Spirit cheerleaders in the front row. Enjoy this set of funky, banging house! - Brad Robinson www.spacecowboys.org Ar...

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays in San Francisco... my chance to make new a costume and see the awesome creativity of our city. For those of you who weren't there on Saturday night of Ghostship, I played on the Unimog this year. Even though I was already standing on a box, you still couldn't see my head so I think I'm going to need two boxes next time so you all can see me! People kept telling me that all they could see was my blue feathered headpiece through the top of the Mog bobbing ...

Halloween's the perfect time to play goth and industrial tracks on a big sound system. I played a short opener at Ghost Ship this year, and we got a late start so not all of it got recorded, so I re-recorded what I played plus a little more that I didn't get to. Halloween's over now, but the spookiness can keep going. Long live the undead!

This week on The RIPEcast it's the lovely, Tamo, as recorded live from Ghost Ship Asylum. Enjoy! "Ghost Ship was such an amazing event for me this year! Lots of love went into to it and having so many friends supporting made both nights super fun! This was my first Ghost ship in a few years and was great to be back! I don’t think I have played for that many people ever and was a real treat! I hope you enjoy the mix! Much love! " - Tamo

Ghost Ship VII Asylum 2014 was as over the top as it gets! Two nights of amazing music, sick art installations, Thunderdome and thousands of freakish costumes. Slotted for a 1am prime time set on the Unimog meant it was prime time to drop some serious bombs to sea of gyrating Halloween freaks! So sit back, relax, and strap on your seatbelt cuz you never been on a ride like this before. - Sol www.spacecowboys.org Artwork by www.jempanufnik.com

First off a heartfelt thank you to all the Space Cowboys who made this Burning Man an incredible experience. I have been afforded the chance to become a part of your wonderfully twisted family, play some of the best damn parties anywhere, talk shit, and build crazy projects and I feel blessed to be a part of it. I came to the Cowboys because of the music and stayed because of the personalities and attitude. This year the Space Cowboys worked as hard as ever to build a 2 story saloon. Why? Becaus...

"As I do a couple/few times a year, I actually put together a set for the Hoe Down to make sure I rock it proper. However, as can be expected at Burning Man, Burning Man happened and my thumb drive failed a couple tracks into my set. And yes, I lost my backup thumb drive the night before (not funny, actually). Luckily, my good friend, Tamo, saved me with her thumb drive so I could finish my set. Long story short, this is my "Hoe Down Makeup set", recorded live at Monarch at the Space Cowboys Ret...

Due to playa-related electrical difficulties, the original recording of this authentic Hoe Down set was lost. I have however made every effort to recreate the original: I left an hour late; rode 45 minutes through dark, treacherous and rebar-laden sand; got lost at a terrible fake hoe down; course corrected; rolled up bathed in sweat and panic stricken; dumped a container full of fresh playa dust on my gear, chugged three fingers of Jameson and pressed Play. Yeaaaaaah baby! That's how we do it. ...

“I skipped the Playa this year so it was good to reunite with my Cowboys after the Burn. I was very happy to see so many faces that did go to the playa on the dancefloor and I received some of their dusty energy! My set represented what I would have played at the Hoe Down if I had been there! Enjoy! :)” - shOOey About shOOey... shOOey has been a staple in the San Francisco dance scene since 2003. Welcome home, Everyone. We hope you had a fabulous Burn. We're still sorting through the recordings from the Hoe Down and should have those out to you via The RIPEcast in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy this groovy tech house set from our man Deckard. "Earlier this year I was asked to put together a mix by Zach Moore for The Armory Podcast. After primarily playing out ghetto funk and breaks for the previous couple of years I was excited to bust out a batch of tech house type tracks I had come a...

The Mog's heard a lot of DJs play a lot of music genres over the years, but there's one style that it always comes back to -- breaks. Yep, when the Mog made the bold decision to give up its profession as a gainfully employed radio truck and pursue its dream of becoming the playa's very first mobile DJ sound system, it did so marching to a broken beat. The year the Mog turns 40, and while it may be getting a little long in the sprocket it still hasn't lost its passion for fat nasty basslines with...

"Minimal sleep. Days and nights of music. Hot tubs. Cowboys rocking it all weekend and one wicked house party. That was my 2014 Snowfest in a nutshell and I loved every minute of it. By Saturday night it was a chore just to get to the venue. Energy was sagging to say the least. We walked in to Rrrus bringing the funk and Tamo got the crowd on the floor with a killer dance set and it was on. The last thing I remember was Mace lifting Kirk on his shoulders while he was DJing. Somewhere in between ...

This is a bit of something different, the idea was to do something like an old-school mixtape, constantly building the energy. Like one giant build up of pressure and explosion of sound. It goes through a lot of genres, and that was the plan. It’s dark and full of some really great music, I hope you enjoy it. - Erik_Hz For more information on Erik visit www.ErikHz.com. I spent 15 years playing the cello and piano through high school but it wasn't until I graduated college that I discovered electronic music. My earliest memorable club experience was in Chicago going to see Basement Jaxx spin. It was many years ago and the details are a bit of a blur but I remember dancing all night and more importantly, that was the night I fell in love with dance music. I clubbed and danced through the next 6 years in Chicago and Dallas, keeping up with DJ's and new CD mixes (...
