Hey everybody, Hey, hey, hey, hey, welcome back to the show. How's it going. Oh boy, y'all. Uh, if you've been following us, you know we've been on a bit of an adventure all across Yeah, all across the US, the whole southern ASP, basically from Atlanta to Vegas, l A up home, through Utah and Colorado. And it's been amazing. I think we counted and it was sixteen states, fourteen
hotels in about twenty days. Yeah, so truly, uh magical, wonderful trip, with most of it with our good friends Cherry and Jason, who you know from the show regular listeners might have heard their Pandemic love Story episode. Uh, their dear friends, and we had been planning a trip out west ourselves. We started talking to them. We've been wanting to travel with them as well, and you know, they never got a honeymoon or an anniversary because they got married in the pandemic. So that kind of led
to us all deciding to take this trip together. And I'm really glad we did. Yeah. It was a lot of fun, some friends there and you know, on a I guess on a sad or note, um, it was a little bit of a hard start. Our producer, Pup Hobbs passed away just a couple of days before we left, and so that was just sad because you know, we wanted to take a really fun trip and we were worried about him because he's an older He was an
older guy, and a little worried about him. Uh, but it was really nice to have some friends there to sort of help keep your spirits up and you know, at least for me, keep my mind in the present and not at home. Oh yeah, me too. I mean, you know, we debated whether or not we would even go because we got hit so hard with this so suddenly. I mean, he's an old dog, but it was still
very unexpected. We really thought that we had everything worked out for him, really good pets that are lined up, who was a who used to work in a VETS office for many years, Like everything was good and this was really ou don't know where. We debated whether or not we would still go, but there was so much in place already, and and you know, even people said like you should, you know, and I think we felt the same way. Um, it just would have compounded the
tragedy to also lose out on this trip. And our friends, and I mean, you know, the money notwithstanding that was probably the least thing on our mind, but but definitely was was a factor. But um, but yeah, in a in a way it was. You know, it's something very healing about seeing a lot of nature and being away from the regular program, you know, the regular every day routines and stuff like that. Especially his routine was a
big part of our day. So it was it was so sort of weird, I guess because it was our it was a built in break. We already knew, you know that for this time we wouldn't be seeing him, we wouldn't be doing his routines. So it was almost like uh delaying of morning, I suppose. But I think it was nice to be away from home and heal a little bit. It was a little bit more at
peace with it, yea, and then get home. And it definitely hurt to come home, but less painful than it would have been to be here and also be missing a trip and also be sad, you know, just everything, yeah, exactly just piled up. A lot of sad things piled up. So but you know, we did come home to a different house than we left, more or less, and you know,
we are still it was almost fresh coming home. It almost felt like a fresh wound because we stepped into uh, you know, our our regular life very disrupted and very different. And for that, uh, it's been a tough couple of days, UM and we haven't really been uh able to work that much, honestly, getting jumping back from this trip straight into the show, we decided to take a different angle
this week. UM and instead of kind of doing half ass research with our brains half in the game, we decided to take a look at our own little ridiculous romance here and Cherry and Jason's. And we thought that we could bring all the story of our trip because it was so massive, it was so epic, There was so much that happened, UM, and it was kind of a cool experiment to see how two couples who both were celebrating, you know, our own relationships because we both
Diana and I anniversary was the day that we left. UM. We celebrated our anniversary at the Oklahoma City Howard Johnson, the most romantic I think everyone there had a hacking cough. It was a very crazy, but we had many celebrations every day after that and Cherry and Jason. You know, we're basically never got their honeymoon, and it have been about two years since they've been married as well. So
collectively we were like, this is a romantic trip. There's definitely a roll hot of ridiculousness to it because it put out the four of us together and it's absurd. UM, So we thought it'd be fun to just bring all story of our collective trip um, both in Vegas and in Los Angeles. UM, and our next two episodes are going to be that while we sort of get back on our feet and dive back into our fun research and of course bring y'all the recryptulous Halloween episodes that
are coming up. But I do hope that you'll enjoy these stories. You know, as we're doing it, we're like, I don't know if anybody's gonna care wants to hear about wants to listen to somebody else's vacation, but um, it was pretty fun. And and again when we get in a room with Cherry and Jason, we think it's funny. So hopefully I'll do too. Hopefully, So stick around. We're
gonna have a lot of fun with Charing Jason. This episode and the next episode where we talk about Los Angeles and then we'll get back to our usual routine. That's right, But thank you all for joining us in this uh, in this tough time and UH and sticking by us. Y'all are the best listeners we could ask for. So true, so true and UH. And thanks to many of you for all your kind words who do follow us on social media and anty this news. Um, we
definitely got some very kind messages. Thank you. We really appreciate it. Um, So y'all enjoy. We're gonna jump right into our discussion with sharing Jason, let's do it. Hey the French come listen. Well, Eli and Diana got some stories to tell. There's no matchmaking, a romantic tips. It's just about ridiculous relationship. I love it. Might be any type of person at all, and abstract cons and don't work on great wall. But if there's just the second
plan ridiculous roll. Yes, a production of I Heart Radio. Thank you for the portrait. Oh yeah that is cool. Yeah, that's awesome. I love it. I need to buy a print of that hanged up on the wall. Well, I was wondering because well, first of all, I'm happy to have print, And second of all, I was I thought it was a little strange to just paint someone without letting them know first, But you know, I figured you'd be cool with it, Eli, and like, I like to use a lot of photos and stuff like that for
reference this. But then I was really pleased for the way that one came out, so I was like, well, Ship, I'm trying to do more just regular portraits anyway. So yeah, I mean, I think it came out really good, and I think you should definitely do more portraits of me, of me specifically series you think that ridiculous romance painting
would be. It is certainly called for of the two, you know, Honestly, I will say with the AI art stuff, if anybody really wants some paintings of YouTube that can really right on and like computer paint me, that's true. They'd be like this is Elien Diana with a painted by money carrying a corn dog in each hand. They probably could do it. Wait a minute, are we carrying a corn dog in each hand? Or was Monee carrying a corn dog in each hand? Wilt, Well, that's up
to the AI. But it's that kind of thinking that AIS don't have that we are going to really miss one day. I would love to see a painting mon did here hold these corn dogs. It's all catchup and mustard colors. I am in him painting with the corn dog. Corn dog? Sure? Both hands? All right? Well, hey, everybody was so excited today because we have two of our
favorite guests, two of your favor of guests. Honestly, we have Cherry del Rosario and Jason Mallory here with us today, who just joined us on an amazing cross country trip. Welcome to back to the show. You guys, Hey, thank you for having us. We've seen you day and on the East Coast. The lighting is different, vibes are different.
Tap water everything tap water. Cherry and Jason, you all joined us previously for our episode about pandemic romances because you all, of course had your whole wedding interrupted by COVID. You had to kind of reschedule everything, rework everything, do it wait differently than you thought. And uh, within all this, Jason, you never got your bachelor party YouTube, never got your honeymoon. So this trip kind of was born a little bit out of that, right, Yeah, we we have never We
didn't even take a trip after anywhere. Damn. So it's been two years since we've traveled together anywhere. So this was kind of like a honeymoon for us anniversary. Also, it's also around the same time that we did you know that all of us got married. Uh, was an anniversary trip as well. Yeah, and you know we'd never hear about a friend's honeymoon without saying, let me in on that action with you. You're going somewhere. Can a bitch tag along? Yeah? I mean that's why it really
isn't honeymoon per se. Right, our best teaser right there with us next Flora what a honeymoon is and isn't. I could we could be heading on down to Costco and being down one are the three bullet points for something that has to make it a honeymoon, right? Uh? Yeah, I think you could have a local honeymoon. I think people do that. Yeah, like a staycation. Yeah, you go get a hotel room in your own city and just get away from home. So I would say recently married.
I guess not recently Okay, the first trip, the honeymoon is the first trip you've taken since you were married, and uh, it has to at least flirt with the idea of being romantic, right, and I think that's is that it, that's it. It's just too criteria criteria. Then, yeah, that was our honeymoon. Nobody gets nobody gets hurt, nobody nobody gets hurt, and you're still married at the end.
That's very us a little threatening. I don't want to each other in the beginning of the trip, and we said hands in the air, if you do what I say, nobody, everybody, everybody send us your criteria for a honeymoon. We're gonna take everyone's suggestions for what the criteria of your honeymoon are. We're gonna put together the perfect list for what defines a honey And I really start policing people about this
because that's going out the hand take. And then you know, should un an email take us with you on your honeymoon and we can do a little investigative reporting. Yes, it seems pretty good to me. I prefer to have our own room, but I mean, you know, we have to be in this room with you. I guess you
can do. Remember when Nickelodeon used to be, like, you know, you can have Katy Perry come on your come to your house and play a concert for your dad, or like, I feel like I missed that one, but sure, I mean that, But it used to be like scenario like celebrity your house takeover. Okay, yeah, concert party. And I remember really dreaming as a child that I would get a Nickelodeon contest like concert at my house. Maybe you guys can do that, is what I'm saying. It's like,
you know, you win a thousand dollars. Yeah, okay, y'all just come on the honeymoon with them. Uh yeah, we we just got to figure out where the thousand dollars comes from. Dear heart, please provide for this um un sanctioned contest that we've decided to start. Well, you guys kind of one that because you got the hosts of Ridiculous Romance to join you on your honeymoon in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. So we already talked a little
bit about our trip out there. Um, but let's pick up with when you will arrived on It was Tuesday afternoon and your flight from Atlanta landed, and Diane and I were all checked into our room at the Bellagio and we came to pick y'all up at the airport. Well one thing I will say that was nice is I was primed and ready for uh like airplane violence. Sure, I like there's so many people, there's so many airplane freakouts. Yeah, and that was nice. All right, good start, good start. Yeah.
I got to see, you know, some of the mountains on the way, in some of the canyons and what have you. Beautiful flight is a beautiful drive, so I'm glad that from above it also looks as good. It was gorgeous. They let me find the plane for a few minutes. Oh that's so nice. Yeah, you mean it. That's awesome. You can't we won't let you land, okay, landing, bring little Ason up to the cockpit, make his dreams come true like the Bellaggio. First of all, initially, Eli,
you had already, you're already working. I don't want to call it a scheme, but yes, I did a lot of research into points and uh get Vegas rewards and this app that gets you free rooms. You can message me. I'll tell you all about it. But it did it didn't. Yeah, it did get us a few free nights at the Placio, and which is not somewhere that our budgets would have
let us stay normally. No, not at all. That was not even on the list as possibility until you started getting this compt Yeah, we were like in the list of hotels, it was under the category of we won't be staying here because we can't afford it under the red right. I mean, I'm not trying to sund like an ad for the Bellagi because first of all, they don't need it. They don't take out, they don't need ads.
I'm sure they serve ads, but it's like, um, but yeah, I mean just it's been a minute since I've stayed in any kind of hotel because of the pandemic, and so for that to be our first re entry into the hotel where I was like, okay, okay, it's a very nice room. Yeah, I was lovely. It lived up to the name. I was worried that it would be you know, stuffy and kind of like, oh, I feel like I can't touch anything like old money. By I'm like, oh, yeah,
everyone knows that we're not supposed to be here. But it was really just really nice. That's comfortable and pretty, and yeah, I like Bellagi more than I thought for sure. Yeah. Beautiful, beautiful, welcome, beautiful start to the vacation. Just walking in a casino and like the lobby itself was just was a gorgeous you know, with all the colors, all the sculptures, was very like beautifully done space. Yeah, they have their school
like Chijuli ceiling. I think it's Chijuli the glass and then the conservatory that they have at the bellagio, which is free and anyone can go look at it. They had just changed it over to the autumn stuff and it smelled amazing, and the whole lobby like just pip in the face with ball pumpkin cinnamon vibes obnoxious, you know, to the grocery store and those those brooms are right there and you're just like smacking. But no, like like you know, light and perfect. Don't let us have that
cinnamon normally it won't let you looking for it. It was Chijuli. By the way I looked at it was like if anyone can afford Chajuli, it is. They don't make it beautiful. You felt like you're under a canopy of color and just nature. Yes, there is one thing I would have done differently. I would have sense it's a whole fall thing, which July I would have put in a big old like scarecrow with a pumpkin head. Really is in he's the scarecrow. And then every once
while he gets off the scarecrow thing? What is the scarecrow thing called? What do you put a scarecrow on the sticks? Just because steak I guess, I guess it, climbs down, take something and says, hey, I did all this. If you want to know more, next you could have like a little Q and a yeah and a and then you pay them, you know, you pay, you pay him, but he keep out of nowhere. I didn't know he
was another phad. Jump to l A. But you know, the big thing in l A is all the people dressed a spider man that will like if you take it. Are the girls in Las Vegas, the streets on Fremont Street that like picture with them? The show girls? Yeah, they're grabbing you like. So basically, basically you're looking to turn Chihuli into one of those streets show girls, but
in a scarecrow costume. I deserve better. It's yeah, he's hard up for money these days for a glass artist, nobody cares for his art, and this is a great spot for a break. We will be right back. Welcome back everyone. We saw the Conservatory, the Blagio, this autumnal wonderland. We we had beautiful rooms we stayed in, and then that night we had reservations for the Baccanal buffet at Caesar's Palace, fancy Palace, because you know, we had to
get some buffets in. Everybody was always talking about Vegas buffets, right, and it was pretty amazing. Because of Eli's little tricks that he was doing with credit card points and stuff like that, he got a bunch of rewards cards. So we had a very fun experience of showing off your diamond status. Diamond status at Caesar's, which gets you priority lines and like Caesars ain't paying me anymore for this, I'm just saying this. You do get skip lines, you
get free parking and stuff. So that was super nice and normally it's for people who spend a lot of money, but we just got it by opening this hotel credit card that we kind of needed anyway, and it just happened to give us diamond status for the year, so we figured we'd go make the most of it, and it was crazy, honey. That was the buffet where we were esported the fine past the norms that like, excuse us,
they they pushed people out of the way. For us, it was very uncomfortable where the high comes, where you get oh, I'm changing. Wait, maybe I am better than these people in my body. I was like, oh my god, this is what celebrities feel like. I understand now. It was absurd. I loved it. I do it again, and I do feel a little better than everyone else. Now that's there's a little piece lives in me. Now it's
never going away. It was kind of nice to be on the road after that and like really kind of just normal hotels and stuff and be like, remember who you are. You don't have done in status everywhere. Let me go. Let me ask you this. Okay, so we're at the we're at the buffet, you're watching your diamond status. We're starting to get escorted. If I had gone, I'm a man of the people. So I'm going to wait in line right these folks because I am, like I said,
you know, I'm you know, Bernie Sanders. I got my mittens on. Yeah, I got my mittens on. I'm Would you have left me to wait in the line? Yes, all three of us immediately. Yes, we were all very hungry, but well, what's the other option? Wait with you? Yes, after all the working life did to get this diamond status. Yeah, building out applications there, we had eight o'clock reservations there
at eight o'clock. That's not utilized this diamond status. We'd be in a line probably extra thirty minutes past our reservations. So I'm not about that. It's all right here here eight o'clock for our reservation. Yes, thank you, Johnny. You know, to be fair, I did keep my mouth shut, and I did and you did wait enjoy between us? Why sorry, folks, I'm a man of the people, but not todaytail is awaiting us. There's a metaphor in here for capitalism somewhere.
I don't even think it's a metaphor. I think it's just a straight example money changes. Heard it here first. Yes, status makes you a bad person. Sorry to everyone we shoved out of the way. They were still food left when you got in there. Everyone, If y'all are not exploiting the point system, I need to tell you that you should be. Points are everything, and I will evangelize. Yes,
it's pretty great. It's pretty great. I mean you know, there's a whole it's built on the backs of a whole system of exploitation that you know I can't fix. So just take my point part of the problem. That's not think too hard. Yeah, I guess we worked hard. Okay, we worked hard. We're not rich people by any just the lifestyle a little bit of a few points of the you know, so we don't lovely buffet dinner. We stuffed our faces, uh, any any particular highlights you'll want
to point out. I just I think it was beautifully presented of how you know, it wasn't just several large troughs of bood that you scoop slap on your plate, you know, some kind of like presentations, some elegance like you you know, the whole thing where they say you eat with your eyes as well. That's like it was definitely a feast for the eyes. There was, like I
love just looking at all the food. How prevented. And also I don't know if they've always done that or if that was just the thing that they developed because of um, the COVID. Because the little preportioned were great because I'm not over stuffing myself on one thing, so that I try. Yeah, exactly, the perfect little portions. You just a taste. I do have an issue of twelve
year old plates. When I go to a phase, like for example, you know, I just I don't know what to get, so I just kind of enough with like you know, a cheeseburger with some cheesecut and some and some crimbrew Let ice cream and then a brown classic children's meal Cramberley. They love it. They like to break the top. I first of all, I was I was giving Crimberle as a child. Oh no, wonder to the
motives children. Did they have a little blowtorch in the kitchen to like my grandmother did use a blot come from money? But we did. We still have a fancy bitch in there somewhere. Well. Food was a very big part, you know, my family growing up, so you know, like it is for everybody, I guess, but you know, like it was very like, you know, food was a big thing. So yeah, ok, you know we were that, we were into that. But pless the buffet issue for me is
I do wish that some buffets. This is a stupid thing to say, but it's like I wish I could go to buffet. That was a buffet, but it was focused, you know what I mean. We focused on these like three areas, perfected them and you can as much as you want of these things, like I would be down with. But again it's like, I'm not going to start my own buffet, so I get it because I mean my thing with buffets in general, and and even the bachan
All buffet, which was very good. I really liked pretty much everything I ate, but it was like a hundred different foods that were all like a seven out of ten. And like, at the end of the day, if I'm spending a hundred bucks on a meal, which is not something I would do at the end of most days, um, I would rather it be the single most amazing dish I've ever had than a hundred very good dishes. Yeah. I had that same with both the buffets that we did,
and I was like, this is cool experience. It was definitely rad to be like pile shut up, try it, move along to the next thing. But yeah, I think for the price tag, I'd rather just get it one plate of really really good food, which we did do several times. So I'm happy. Yeah, like that famous quote, like you know, but tis better to have one good plates to have hundreds of mediocre plates. I think Plato
said that once. So yeah. The next day was pool day though, pool day, which Bellagio is an amazing pool, gorgeous complex. I guess they have like seven pools or something right or several anyway, and they had some with like fountains, and then that we were like, we're going to be mermaids in there. Your hair. The day bed is the way to go. Oh man, four of us
on a big old day be circular couch basically. But they were like, the service was amazing all throughout the Bellaggia really, but the service there's they were like struggling with really heavy umbrellas to make sure that we were fully shaded and we had our own server, and again it was just diamond vibes, like we're like, mmmm, this is gold status right here. You tried to you tried to move that big heavy umbrella on your own. I gave it a shot. I gave it the old college dry.
But it's a big heavy umbrella. So we we asked our server if someone could move, because honestly, it's like it could have been done, but it also could have toppled over and landed on someone. It was just like, we should not be doing this ourselves. It feels like the kind of thing that they would prefer you not because you could really mentioned it to our server and then she's like, oh, I'll get someone to move it. And then like young Henry Cavill shows up. Don't worry,
I'll move the umbrella for you. Like Mr Muscles was a lifeguard. Yeah, it was the lifeguard. He just jumped down swiftly from just like I'll move this. What if someone had started drowning at that exactly? There was like six other lifeguards. He's like, wait a minute, I got an umbrella for a gold member here. You gotta waite. Yeah we got, we got the shade we needed. So lovely pool day, you know, I think we all got our relaxation in feeling good, feeling fine. And that night
Amaze sing Show. We got to go see the Circus Love Show. It's the Beatles Show, all Beatles music rearranged by uh some brilliant people including Paul McCartney I know is heavily involved in it. Uh. And then it's a bunch of circus sol jumping around and dancing and flips and Chappie's Craziness. Yes, it's wonderful. And Eli, I've seen
it a couple of times. That was your third time, Yeah, because we went on my bachelor party, which is the first time I went to Vegas, and then Diana, you and I went back to Vegas, and I was like, we gotta see this show. And then we went back with Cherry and Jason and I know, at least Cherry you are a lifelong Beatles fan, right, and so we knew this show. We had to go see this show again. As soon as it was released, like thousands six, I was like, I will be in Vegas one day, right,
and I will see this show. That is really the number one thing that I wanted to do in Vegas. Wash did it live up to? Oh? Everything you wanted it to be? Everything and more? Like just immediately as soon as the music began, a student like this beautiful instrumental version of because these actors walking on stage with just umbrellas and just the flighting and smoke, just beautiful to open the show, just just tears immediately. It was very much John John Paul Ring of George, Oh where
are they from? Where are they from? The show? I will say one thing very exciting to happen to us on our way to Yeah, we had we had put on put on our Sunday best for this show on a Wednesday, A nice dinner afterwards too. This was like a nice night out kind of And we're walking from Gagio up to a Mirage, which is a hike, and as we're exiting the Blaggio, this car, like a taxi pulls up next to us and the guy rolls down his window. He says, hey, hey, what's what's the convention
in town? And we're like, we we don't know, we don't know what's going on. He says, oh, well, you guys are just so stylish. I thought there must be something going on. We're like, did he think we were part of the style convention? Style convention? But that was a very um affirming, yeah compliment. I felt great after that. I was like, we all made good choices to wearing clothes over there. Oh, I mean that's Vegas for you
right there. That's it in a nutshell. Well, that night we got to go to Wolfgang Puck's Lupo restaurant for dinner and we had a really really nice dinner and then Cherry had arranged pre arranged as surprise desserts for us, because we were all they're celebrating our anniversaries and everything, like we said, so she had pre arranged this really beautiful cake and they, you know, they're like trying to
close I guess while we were there. So they were like clearing up our ship, and they brought out the cake and it was like beautifully handwritten message that said happy birthday. And we were like, oh, whose birthday is? And you had and you had specifically told them right, oh yeah, this is the restaurant reached out to me via text to confirm my reservation, and you know, after confirming,
they're like, are you guys celebrating a special occasion? Like, oh, yes, we are, I know, without giving so many details, I said, we're all celebrated rating our anniversaries. Um, so I would look and I said, you know, we can personalize this and everything like amazing vegas. I mean, so I said, yes, I could you say happy anniversary to us? Oh okay, yeah to us, to us because we're all celebrating her
in appreciate. I thought would be a really fun surprise for everybody, you know, for our meal and just bust out with this anniversary cake, you know, and it comes out and said happy. Well, you know at the end of the day though we still we still ate it. You can send it back like how you know we decided. We decided, yeah it was it was happy birthday to each of your marriages, which are celebrating celebration Stone exactly.
It wasn't a phenomenal it was food was phenomenal there, thank you for real and why you're very And he's a regular listener in front of the show. So you thought, yeah that wolf Gang were Wolf. We're wolf Gangs, wolf Gang, wolf Gangs, Wolfgang for the wolf Gang wolf Gang reach out. We'd love to have you on the show. We would love to love you, babe. That night, I believe we decided that we were going to hang out in the
hotel room for a little while. After we walked around for a bit and Cherry and Diana you all hung out in the room while Jason and I decided we would go get us some drinks. Yeah that in Vegas you can go to the CVS and they sell full liquor and everything you could ever want. Um, that's pretty late and uh, if you haven't been to Las Vegas. Everything is very big, which means everything is very space
to part which means everything's a long walk. But the Belagio right across the street from a CVS, so we thought, hey, this will just take a second. I mean, it's like being around and I'm as you know what I mean, It's just like bridges and corridors and just like all over the place. My my big memory from I think it was that night was the guy on the way back. He was like, hey, well there's no more jacking off tonight because he was trying to get into a limo
to go see a strip club. We have wives, have wives, sir, how dare you suggest? And if we go to a strip club they're coming to damnit. Yeah. It was. It was a long ass walk, it was. It was. It was quite a journey. But you know what, at the end, we did get something that I haven't had in almost a year, which is Torrito's. Oh wow, I didn't realized that was such a special treat. Yeah, we got the
reward Dorito's free household. Is there health reason for that? Oh? Yes? Okay, all right, Like we came back, I remember you Cherry reacting like, wait a minute, are these Tritos? Wow, it's like you broke your sobriety. No, no, Well, you know, during during quarantine, we are the worst food comfort ourselves. We're all we're all upset, so we're just eating all the things that you know, awful for us but just
made us happy. Urrito's was high up on the list fresh all right, and we just ate lots of Gritos, Skittles. I wish, I wish we had, but we did not. Reminds me of childhood, just like my grandma used to torch modest child. Yeah, I did a similar thing because the Eminem's world is also on this strip. And my food that was trashy and killing me slowly during the quarantine was peanut butter of an M So I was eating insane amount of them and I have not had them in a while, and I was like, damn it,
I'm going again. So isn't there some because something special? There's like a secret room or a treasure chest or something in the eminem store. What is that? There's like a well, the only thing. The first time I went to Vegas, it was August. We went in August, which is an insane time to go Las Vegas. It's very, very hot, and we were taking our first walk up
the street. We were at MGM Grand, which is pretty far south on the strip, and we're walking our way north and one of the first buildings you come across is the Eminem store, and so me and all my friends we go inside and they're like, oh, yeah, this is nice. There's some air conditioning, and we make our way upstairs. The Eminem stories like four stories tall, and when you get up to the top floor there's a little movie theater and it runs about like an eight
minute movie every ten minutes or something like that. So we're like, hell, let's just go sit down in the air conditioning, and we watch the four D eminem adventure movie. I think they're like diffusing a bomb. It's a very exciting you eat with your eyes too, you know, so you want to watch them m yeah. So yeah, that was Cherry and I were definitely in the hotel room,
like I wonder, I hope they're okay. Finally, like forty days and forty nights later, we got back with the bottle of tequila and a bottle of vodka and some sprite board, some drinks, poured some drinks and fell asleep. Yeah, like we're old. But that was okay because the next day we had a really cool experience ready like lined up for us, which was Me a Wolf's Omega Mart. But before we get into that, let's take a quick
break and we're back. I have been looking at Me a Wolf for a while because I got served up some ad for their Santa Fe experiences, like an Alice in Wonderland thing, I think, and so ever since I saw a few years ago, I was like, I've got to see Hima Wolf. This is weird and cool. So we yeah, we were very excited to go to the Omega Marts. You should look into it, because I think the less you know about it, the better you know. I don't want to go see it, but it's it's
so cool. It's just this very I mean, you know, just the word immersive keeps coming up, but that's what it is. You step into this kind of art experience. When I was like, as an like, I'm not an artist of physical medium like that. I'm more of a writer. But like Cherry, I was thinking about you, like because you kind of split up and looked around, but I was thinking about you a lot, and I was like
you it must be. It was so fun as a graphic designer to come up with all these fake products that they had in store, these kind of like takes on product, like kind of satirical takes on products that they had. Just coming up with the ideas, I would have had the best time just coming off with some of that ship exactly like as a as a graphic designer.
The portion of the the immersive experience that was most interesting to me was was the grocery store because of all the like fun labels and designs and logos that like, you know, somebody had a great time designing. Yeah, why couldn't it be me? I want this job. It was a little like I did think of one thing that
was interesting without spoiling it too much. But as like you know, there is like a little bit of a mystery to solve there where you have to pay attention to similar, Yeah, you have the option to follow it or not. And what funny was like y'all like I'm a notorious cut scene skipper in game, Like I want games to get to the point, and I'm like I have I will watch some cut scenes and like bywear
games and stuff like that, But and dialogue trees. But a lot of times I'm just like, I ain't watching that, And so for me, I amediately just gravitated towards the more immediately accessible stuff, whereas y'all actually took the time to engage with the multimedia aspects of it that you know. And and it's not like I skipped every part of it, but I did. I did like the fact that it
was engaging for both types of visits. Yeah, definitely, and people who aren't necessarily as interested in that, right, because you could just go through and and be appreciating and dazzled by the world they build inside and the way they play with lights and sound and sets all this stuff. Or yeah, you can like do the reading and watch the videos that they have at various kiosks, and uh and there is a story that sort of unfolds for you. Yeah. Yeah.
They had some really meditative parts that were like and if you had the time, you could just sit there in that one room and like, I don't think about your life and maybe some answers would come to you. I don't bring my diary and just like think about I was saying, it would be cool to go for like a first date totally somewhere quiet, find a corner and like kind of get to know somebody and like, yeah, you're surrounded by all these beautiful lights and art and really,
you know, spend time with each other. If anyone goes on a first date to a meal wolf experience, please write in and tell us if it actually it was awesome or if you were like I wanted to shake him off so quick I tried to lose I tried to lose him when I crawled through the portal, body followed me, Cherry. Thank you for tying this episode back to the theme of our show. Thank you again. Okay, this is our date night as well. Right, we had to.
We had you know, when we planned it, were like, well, you know, we're all friends and we want to spend as much time together as possible. But of course, the two couples on a trip intended to celebrate our anniverse three, so we knew we'd want some private time as well, so we built in some date nights. And I know you guys had a really wonderful meal, right, he had
like a fancy dinner. Well, excuse me, the library right, yes, okay, yes, it's called the library at nomad, just surrounded by books, very warm like red booths and very cozy, warm lighting. Just the ambiance is spectacular and it's definitely one of the most romantic to eat. I think in Vegas is just gorgeous. Um, but Jason has some well like okay, like the night was wonderful and this didn't go on for too long, but I guess there was like an
Errorsmith concert. Oh yeah, they have a residency at Park MGM. So you know, we're today, we're seeing did We're both dressed up. We're at this fancy place, but at their bar.
All these Arismith fans started spilling out into the main dining room to the point where these two guys were just like these two Like, I mean, they weren't exactly dressed for the venue first of all, and they were standing right next to our table just jabbering about like you know, football or whatever, like yeah, Manna, I love football all this stuff. And I was like, look for
a bar, but we specifically wouldn't have an experience. So the waitress I was like, hey, do you mind if we move a few tables down, and then you know, she moved. It was totally cool about it, and then they sat down and she had to come up and be like, sir, these are for people eating, don't you understand how a restaurant works, not after concert. I was just like Steven Tyler, come get your fans, you know. But they bounced pretty quickly and the rest of you all.
Eventually all of the Aerosmith fans left the bar and no shade to Aerosmith, and you know, lots lots of leather was worn and yeah, yeah, open vests. I imagine they all left and it was much quieter, much more romantic, and as far as the meal went. You know, I didn't want to close my eyes. I didn't want to miss a thing at our own concert. But you also, we had another special request for a dessert, right they came? Correct? They can't, yeah, because you also put in a request
for any thing. You know, a lot of times when we do our reservations, they ask you if it's a special occasion, right, And honestly, every time I say, yesterday better, no matter of it isn't it is because you never know what kind of like one little parking might get exactly every day, is a special occasion that's exactly right at your establishment, it is I put down that it is our it was our honeymoon. Yes, so I just because I'm like, I don't know they might give us something,
and I completely forgot about it. But they showed up with this cotton candy on a big, very long stick and then they put the stick on a little stand. So it was just basically presenting a fans way of presenting cotton candy and a card that's congratulations, and everybody, all the staff of the restaurants signed it very and just unexpected, because again I totally forgot I even did that.
So they're like, just when we all wanted to say congratulations on getting married, and we're all very glad that you're here with us tonight. And it's very sweet. And they also gave us port wine with our dessert for free complimentary. Yeah, and we also had a dessert along with that, just like some kind of coffee. I think they called it coffee cake, but you know it's not yeah faces like Vegas. So it's it's like deconstructed like you know home with like granata, granata granita, yeah, ice
kind of shaped ice, different flavors. Yeah, it was a coffee granites. I have had a weird side effects from that car, and then that they gave us that is, you know, well just since we got back. The card they gave us was signed by all the people, and you put a card on our fridge, and it's the first thing I see whenever I opened the fridge and someone signed the card. Tuna Mad number eight. I mean, so there's more than seven tunaments to No Mad Library if you want to, if you want to take it there.
The the thing that you saw on the card are quiet hilarious. The names they haven't chosen to use, or if they are their real names, I don't know, but they are hilarious. That's why I like, I'm like, I'm keeping this forever because it's really funny and it's very Yeah right, number eight. Yeah, every time I open the first time, I'm like, oh, number eight. Of course, while y'all were doing that, we went to a place called
best Friend by Roy Choi. It's kind of an opposite direction where we were kind of like Shureley, we'll have lots of dress up time and fancy meals, so we'll just do something casual together tonight. Yeah. Yeah, it's a nice way of of of of explaining that we didn't plan very much. Actually, to both the date nights, we were like, yeah, we'll figure it out. This is what happens. We've been married too long, You're like anniversary whatever. But it was amazing. I love that some of the best
food I've ever eaten. Incredible. That line is so cool. The vibe was really cool, like the food was out of control. Roy Choi is like a pretty well known chef and he decided to do something that was more like street food from his childhood, like kind of like low concept uh food did but it was done so well. It was unbelievably good. Best noodles I think I've ever had. Well, this was so great about it? Is this a lot
of Korean barbecue there? So I was kind of like, well in Elisa vegetarian, so I'm like, well, what you know, is there anything on the menu for him? Is this meal going to be worth it? And one of the best things about it was that the vegetarian noodles and the barbecue veggies that they served were insane. They were so good that I was like, wow, you know, barbecue barbecue places need to take note that you can char grill some carrots and really impressed me. Because it was
so so good. So it was really cool, and everybody in there was all rowdy and they like we saw a guy and his wife get up and start waltzing like like they were dancing to something together, and that was really cute. I was like, everyone in here is having a really good time. So that was really fun. Jason was going to come out and gamble with us because we were still bopping around. Late. We went to the Juniper Lounge and had a drink and we went
into Excalibur. We were enjoying Excalibur and sat down at a table in New York, New York and text from Jason, as is going to sleep, but I'm going to come out and meet you. And then and then what happened Jason, Well, was this the night that I said I don't want to walk, no, no, But you just were like, I'm gonna come out and meet you, and back where we
were like we're at Paris. I believe the next day you said you fell asleep with your phone in your hand as you were texting that, Oh yeah, I had a message on I was like I'm coming out and I literally was not my face, preparing to go to bed, and he came out of the bathroom. He was already
asleep on the bed. He mostly before me. When you make a sedentary forty four year old man walk like, my apple Watch literally was like wow games today, Like my apple Watch was the most impressed I've ever seen it. I did cross twenty steps twice on that trip. Yeah, it was. It's a lot. It's a lot. Really. It really seemed like my Apple Watch thought this was the new normal, and I was like, no, I'm sorry, this is a couple of weeks, just a couple of weeks.
I had the opposite where I've been using new to record my meals and try and track what I'm eating and stuff. And in Vegas they kept saying, hey, Lea, you haven't recorded dinner yet, and I was like, I'm not going to tell you what I'm eating. Out of here, get out of my business or something. Yeah. Sure, we'll just say sprouts, some carrots, sprouts. Yeah. And he's like, just don't don't work, don't tell you. He's always listening.
One of my favorite moments of the trip it was just me out late one night ever, but he was asleep and I sat down at the blackjack table and these uh these two drunk couples came up to play too, and I wasn't really very drunk myself, but they were having a great time, but in a fun way. They weren't like obnoxious. And they're screaming and hooting and hollering
because they're winning. And the pit boss, the guy who like sort of monitors the all the games going on, walks over as they're shouting one time and he says, hey, guys, guys, guys, I got people sleeping upstairs. And they all like stopped dead and we're like, oh my god, sorry, and started whispering. And he's like, are you kidding me? This Vegas? You can say whatever you want busts out laughing. I bought it for half a second. I bought it too. I was like, oh my god, we are being really loud
you telling the story. I bought it. You're literally like casino Like also, who would call down to it's just too loud tonight. The ceilings are two ft tall, Like, no, it's good because they was kind of young too, right, so he was probably let me play off. They've probably been yelled at again, Yeah, totally, maybe put a bed down there and if you can sleep on the casino floor you can sleep preferring. Wow, it's like the Princess and the Peak. Yeah, if you can sleep through the
craps game, we'll put two dice under your mattress. If you can sleep through the night, then a true princess beget trust it. I don't like that. I'm like, I'd rather get a call for a real I'd rather sleep in a broom, closet, h somewhere amazing. So that was a really fun night. I loved our date night. It was a great time. Um. And then I guess the next day was our last day in Vegas, Is that right? Or last? Yeah? Yeah, And so we had plans to do Fremont Streets, which is of course a crazy experience.
That's Old Vegas where all the old like Golden Nugget and binions and Horseshoe and all that stuff started. So we're very excited about that day. We had our breakfast buffet that morning, UM at the wind which is a very fancy, very fancy hotell some sites the fanciest hotel on the stretch. And I know Cherry and I talked a lot about this, but but it was another place where I thought it would be really stuffy and like fro you know, sort of, But it wasn't. It was
really fun. It had a really fun vibe without being tacky. It was fancy without being stuffy. It was just yeah done. Yeah, it was really really well done. It full to be fair, though, I was ignored by the crepes lady, the lady who made creeps. Yeah, hands on crepes, so I wanted a was still upset about that crazy I mean, honestly, the buffet experience overall was not that. It was not the same as backing all service was. I didn't feel like a special person. Of course, we weren't there. We didn't
have diamond status. We were regular red status at the wind So we walked in. They beat us with canes, they shoved us out of the way while they let some diamond members through. That used to be me. I know what it's like now. It's worse to have had it and lost it than never had it at all, you know, I didn't. Eventually eventually got a crazy cre That's good. That crap is probably the best part of the meal, It's true. Um. But a really big thing that night was the Neon Museum and the Fremont Street
experience and the Neon Museum is really cool. We had not done this one and are any of our other times that we've been. Um so I'm really excited that we got You've got a book it way in advance. Uh. You know, the tours are pretty small and they only run every hour. They're they're pretty short. Um so you've they sell out at almost every night. I believe. It's
basically uh they call the Bone Yard. It's just like old Neon signs from like classic Vegas, all laid out on the ground and these big piles like almost like a junkyard, but they're all turned on and lit up and it's so cool. It was really hard rock, cafe, guitar, just tons of stuff that was really cool. It was just a really cool like history of Vegas kind of quick quick history of Vegas. Have very very quick short history of Vegas like hard rock guitar, OHT or something
like that. It's very big, it's very climbable, and I do, yeah, you should. They should allow you. You suggested it to me at the time. What wouldn't take to get up there? I mean, you know, maybe that's my circ to sell at audition. You climbed to the top. Jump just flip off that land on your feet. Yeah, it's me, Paul McCarney. Oh you've got to do is climb this hard rock cafe. Oh thank you, Paul, Paul. Anything for you, Sir Paul. They don't let you climb. They don't let you. Don't
let you climb it, don't start climb. And I bet they'd let Paul climb, Sir Paul. He shouldn't. They shouldn't. He's yeah, he needs to be preserved. You don't hurt yourself. Called. If Paul McCartney shut up and said, oh I'd like to, I'd like that's Ringo, isn't it. If Ringo Star shut old, look the cloth and the adul well Ringo Ringo. Yeah, they'd let him do it, can do it? Just kidding. I love Ringo. I will say. Fremont Street, you know, was my first being in a crowd post quarantine free
cat It was incredibly packed. It was very packed and like you know, Vegas ain't no mass nowhere, you know what I mean, You maybe see one or two and like, up to that point, I have been fine because you know, we got the booster and everything, and you know, obviously We're just like, hey, boaster, you're gonna have to get
your work cut off for you. But you know, it was just kind of this like weird moment where I was just like packed into all these people and they were also so close, and it's like there might as well have been like an old lady who was like give us a kiss. Oh my god, you know, like both who can breathe and the hardest, you know, Like I was just like, you know, it was just like an intense experience, and then I was just like, well, you know, I'm I'm here, you know. Right. We went
to the Golden Nugget and it was fine. We played black jack, uh, Diana and Cherry played slots and stuff. We went to Yeah we love the Circa. It was great and we played a little Shop of Horrors themed slot. So we were just thinking, suddenly Seymour at the top
of our luans. We had some cocktails, so we may have had a cocktail cloud as we usually we're together and so fun though, and I really wanted to talk about it because we had this this crazy uber driver like a couple of days before who had told us to go to Fremont and he kind of like Wilfred Brimley had a very strong like accident, No New York. I mean it was like Wilford Brimley worked at the shipyards in New Jersey. That's what this guy looked like.
I've been to prison. He got yeah, knuckles, tattoos. Right. So as soon as we got in the car, he was like, you know, being a good driver. He's trying to give us some recommendations. You while we were in visiting. Real character. You gotta go to Fremont, ladies. There's stuff up for you down there. There's a guy down there and let you kick you. You could kick up as hard as you want the nuts and you don't fold up.
If you make him flinch, you get you get to keep your twenty dollars or whatever to kick him in the balls. But he said he brought like a bunch of friends of his who was brought home with these knuckle had friends of mine. I'm nuts nuts friends, numb nuts. You know what these numbnuts did was a linebacker, you know, he was a starting kicker or something. That's right, some football.
The nuts. He didn't fall out. He did not fall as our driver Mike or has he referred to himself, Uncle Mike, Uncle Mike, and he kept all his white with chicken ship. Yeah, uncle Mike said, my chicken ship white, chicken ship white. You know what she did. She told me to go take a picture with the topless nun. Put one boob on each shoulder. Chicken and girls, here's something for you. There's manicures. Do not know me at all, sir, what's for us? What's for us? Okay? But then it
was time to leave Vegas the next day. So it was kind of silly, I guess of us to be like, let's get real messy on Fremont and then wake up her nice and check out to Los Angeles. We did, all right, well, go ahead. Oh, some of my co workers told me to make sure I had enough gas and water and an extreme word, but yes, I was like, I was like, hey, are we gonna die on the
way los Angeles? Like am I going to be? It's just us and two camels, as much water as you can carry on your belt, cartoon of a skeleton next to you know. So spoiler alert, we did make it to Los Angeles. Um, but you know, you get the four of us together talking about our vacation, we're gonna go. We're gonna go. Are you all bored yet? Are you like I don't care about your stupid fan like part of me is like, this is the most annoying thing

But I hope that you have had fun laughing along with us and dreaming of your own vacation or please tell us you know any stories you might have about your US experience and honeymoons, Yeah, you would love to hear those and share them on the show.
