God’s grace allows us to not follow the ways of this world but to set the course of our lives to a greater purpose and calling.
The body of the church has a different way of living. Peter describes this clearly in verse 3:8: unity, sympathy, love, tenderness, humility. Overall, we’re called to bless people even when people come against us.
When we play our roles within society, home, and church we have freedom as we set our hearts to serve. When we serve we actually are more free than demanding to get our own way. This is one of the secrets of the Christian life. As we trust God, He helps us even when we find ourselves in difficult situations.
We may be rejected in our culture but we have a community chosen by the living God.

The way to peace without having everything under control, when there are all kinds of loose ends, the to do list is growing to gargantuan size, when interruptions abound is to keep going to God in prayer.
The only way to be truly productive is to realize we don’t have to be productive. Embracing the truth that God accept us apart from good works is the precise thing that motivates me to excel in good works.
