Episode description

Welcome to Robert’s Corner! Today we will be talking about Covid-19 and how it impacts us socially today and, in turn, its impacts on our overall wellness.

"If your emotional abilities aren’t in hand, if you don’t have self-awareness, if you are not able to manage your distressing emotions, if you can’t have empathy and have effective relationships, then no matter how smart you are, you are not going to get very far."

– Daniel Goleman

How we think and feel and adapt in life is huge. My recovery wasn’t just one thing, but multiple things working together. Is it perfect? Nope. Looking at socializing, it can be hugely stressful with many unrealistic expectations. The late Bob Marley said it this way:

"Truth is everybody is going to hurt you: you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for."

- Bob Marley

At the same time, being super-careful won't help either. Fear has made us look at things with one solution. Social distancing is hard, sure, with Covid-19; but I would say social distancing and feeling isolated has always been a struggle for many--including me.
