♪ [Gene Bailey] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my way, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. On today's edition of Revival Radio TV, we're going to talk about God's thoughts. (technicians over radio) Throughout the history of the Church, Christians have acted on God-inspired ideas and in doing so changed history.
The technological inventions have empowered the Church and helped advance the gospel by using these new tools. The Church has always been the early adopters of technology, beginning with the printing press and, in our lifetime, satellite broadcasting.
With the help of divine inspiration, a small team of engineers from Hughes Aircraft, led by Clyde McGee, who was inspired by God's ideas, persevered and developed this satellite Syncom, named for geosynchronous communication, a revolutionary satellite that paved the way for advanced communication satellites. God had to have a man, and Clyde McGee stepped up to be the one. [Kenneth Copeland] Now, Clyde McGee got the plan for that satellite. Oral Roberts got the plan for that university.
That's what he was called to do. Well, is anything too hard for the Lord? Is anything impossible with Him? - No. - Then, I was not called to do that. I was called to do something else. But I learned about it praying in the Spirit. - That's right. - I learned so much about that from my father in the Spirit, Oral Roberts. Now, he was an evangelist. When he preached, at least while I was there, and then I have old videos of those tent meetings.
Being an evangelist, he did what I call staying in his lane. He stayed right where he was supposed to be, though he was capable of it, because he prayed in the Spirit, and interpreted back to himself, and got all of the plans for Oral Roberts University. But in his platform ministry, he didn't move over there into stopping and giving a message in tongue. He could have. He wouldn't do it. He stayed right where he was, stayed in that lane, but he was so anointed, Gene.
I mean, he would stand there and preach. I was sharing with our class today when he preached on Samson and Delilah. I'm telling you, by the time he got through, I was to put out with that woman. (laughs) Anyway, he painted such a picture. You could just see it. Then he preached the fourth man, Jesus, in every book of the Bible. He would preach sometimes. I never did hear him teach in his preaching meeting. But when we would go on a meeting, it started on a Monday night.
But Monday morning, then he would have the sponsoring pastors, and he would teach. Oh, and teach on the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit in the now. Oh, just delicious. But that's what he was called to do. Then Kenneth Hagin, the Word of the Lord came to him, and the Lord said, "Teach my people faith." So that's what he did. Well, when Gloria and I came out of that, I had it in me, total immersion. I learned that during World War II, in Monterey, California, there was a language school there.
I'm telling you, when the war broke out, we needed interpreters we could trust. For all of the languages, German, Japanese, all of those things. And in total immersion, not allowed to speak in anything but that language by a person that was their native language. And in six weeks, you're conversationally fluent. They make an interpreter out of you in less than a year. Total immersion. And I began to pray about that. I said, Gloria, how can we ever do that? Total immersion.
Gene, I just had total immersion all my life. When I went to total immersion Spanish school in Berlitz, and learned the basics of Spanish. Well, I kept on, I just kept praying about total immersion. And I thought, we got on the radio, and it was just in my heart. I talked about it to the Lord all the time. We wound up on 700 radio stations, and we were the largest religious broadcaster in the world. Because of that, this is important.
We went from, oh, our budget right after we got started was something like, oh, I don't know. A little over $300,000 for the year. Gene, the next year, our radio bill was $400,000 a month. And it was the easiest thing we ever did. Well, but still, how can I get people into total immersion? Total immersion. I just kept praying in the Spirit about it. Kept praying in the Spirit about it. Kept praying in the Spirit about it. I didn't know it was going to take as long as it did.
But now there is something called the Victory Channel. [Gene Bailey] It is. I've heard of it. - Yes. 24 hours a day, people preaching and teaching faith. From different ministries. From a pastoral ministry. From an evangelistic ministry, which is Jimmy Swaggart. From teaching ministries. And Keith Butler, Bishop... In fact, in my teaching today, he opened my eyes on something in the 8th chapter of Romans. That I heard him teaching on the Victory Channel. - About that.
- We know not how to pray for. He helps us out and takes a hold together with us against our infirmities. We don't know what to pray for as we ought. And so I was able to expand on that. But after all those years, it was in my Spirit. There wasn't time for it. - That's a big one right there. - There wasn't time for it. Thanks to Clyde McGee, it's all over the world. - It's all over the world. - And that's where I wanted to get. Clyde Thomas McGee made this possible for us all over the world.
And every time you... Every time I'd get in that Citation X, when you were on satellite, the needles were magenta or pink. Everybody's calling them pink needles. That means you're global GPS. Thank you, Clyde. See what he did for the world? - How about that? - And what he did for the Body of Christ. Because now... I mean, Jesus said this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached to all nations as a witness. Then the end will come.
When I was at ORU, I came home one afternoon from school and I said, "Gloria, I'm disturbed in my spirit. I'm just going to go down here in the riverbed." You know, in Tulsa, Riverside Drive. - I know it. - Well, that's the Arkansas River. And our little house was one, two, three houses from Riverside Drive. So I just walked down there. Started praying in the Spirit. Nations. Nations. Nations. What? Nations in the day. Shall a nation do that? What could that possibly be? Well, I accepted it.
And I just said, "Lord, wherever I fit into that, then I'm yours to command." I didn't think about it anymore. Well, look at it now. - Oh, yeah. - But God had to have a man. And this is one point I want to make here. He was the one. Just like Revival Radio. Clyde McGee was the one. He's the one that yielded to God. He was the one. Well, look what he did for the gospel. - Oh, wow. My goodness, man. - And still doing. - And still doing it.
- Yeah. [Kenneth Copeland] And he's watching it from a heavenly perspective now. [Gene Bailey] That's good. - It is good. - That's really good. - So all of us are benefiting from what God did through one man and his wife that wouldn't quit. And just stayed before God. And prayed. And prayed in the Spirit. And prayed in the Spirit. And prayed and interpreted it. Only he interpreted it into scientific language. And I've seen some of it. It was all mathematical calculations.
Where do you think he got that? - Divinely inspired. - Well, what did Einstein get into such trouble? Because he prayed. He said, "I just asked the creator. What would I do if I was You? Oh, how dare you ask such a thing. He came up with E equal MC squared. Atomic energy. And when you search God's heart. "Likewise, the Spirit who takes hold together with us against our infirmities. For we know not what we should pray for as we ought.
But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the heart knows what is the mind of the Spirit. Because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God." And the scripture says we have the mind of Christ. - That's right. - And he created it all. - More than we can ask or think. - Well, let's look at that. Because there's something about that. In the third chapter of the book of Ephesians.
For this cause, I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom? Of the Father, the whole family in heaven and earth is named. Gene, we have to get a hold of that. Lay into it. That he would grant you according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might in his spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend." Comprehend. Comprehend. Now, and I always use this.
For you to go somewhere in an airplane, you have to go buy a ticket. You have an understanding of that, but you don't comprehend what that pilot knows. I don't have to do that. The only difference between the two of us is that I took time to learn it. - Right.
- So the length and the depth and the height, and to know, to have intimate knowledge with the love of Christ, which passes knowledge that you might be filled, oh dear God, with all the fullness of God now unto him that is able to do, exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in you. Now, Gene, all of the wonderful things that have happened to me, I can ask or think that. So he can do more than that. - That's right.
- And each time there's an outstanding miracle, he can do more than that. Each time there's something greater, he can do more than that. One day I started to say, well, I did say it. I said, "Boy, it just doesn't get any better than this." And I heard the Lord say, "You think this? You think this is the best I can do?" I said, "No, sir." I said, "What am I supposed to say?" He said, "Well, if you have to say something, when it gets better than this, I'll be right in the middle of it."
- There you go. I like that. - When it gets better than this, because of him, and because I'm following Jesus by His Spirit, I'll be right in the middle of it. - Being filled. - It took years, years to get to total immersion for the people. But then it manifests as the Victory Channel. All day, 24 hours a day. Now, we are once again on radio. We've come full circle. - Every available voice. - Every available voice. -[Gene Bailey] This is off topic, but I want to ask you this.
You know, all those times with Brother Hagin, even Oral Roberts, Brother Roberts as well, what is it, when you talk about him, your eyes, every time I've talked to you about this, your eyes light up and it's like you go back somewhere in your mind about that. When you listen to Brother, was it the anointing that's coming out in Brother Hagin or what was it that... so enraptured you to pay attention to that? - You remember the two on the road to Emmaus? - Right.
- And they said, "Didn't our hearts burn when he talked to us about Moses?" That's the way it was. My heart would just burn and yearn for more. And I'd sit with Brother Roberts. There was one day, the first time I went back and preached at the university. Excuse me. We had lunch at their home. They were still preparing lunch. We came into the den there. He just took his shoes off and sat down on the floor. He said, "Kenneth, take your shoes off and sit down right there.
Gloria, take your shoes off and sit down over here." He said, "Evelyn, take your shoes off." She said, "Oral, I'm not taking my shoes off." Well, he just turned around and looked at me. He said, "Kenneth, teach me faith." I said to him, I said, "Sir, you must be kidding me. - No. He said, "You boys have learned things about faith that I don't know. You are looking at the hungriest man for God on this planet.
He had changed the spiritual complexion on healing and miracles in the United States and most of the world. - Sure did. - And he wanted to learn something from me. And then I realized he hadn't quite captured the saying part. And he said, "I see it. I see that." I said to him one time, I said, "You use your faith like a mechanic uses a wrench. You go to your toolbox and you get the wrench that you need and apply it." He said, "Well, I never thought about it like that, but he said, that's true."
He said, "There are different ways and different methods. And I heard someone ask him about the gifts of the Spirit. And they said, "Which is the best gift?" Most people start at the top, the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, and so forth. He stopped for a moment. He said, "The one you need at the time." He said, "If it's the gifts of healing, then that's the one you covet." But oh, he was powerful in his spirit. But then here's Kenneth Hagin with essentially the same calling.
But Gloria and I were blessed and highly favored to have had both those ministries in our lives. And I realized later that those two anointings together created one anointing in us and our calling to do the same thing, just possibly on a little larger scale. - Right. Amazing. - But Clyde's right in the middle of it. - Well, I don't see how you can get away from it. - No, you can't. - Now, especially. - I remember we took our check ride on Citation X in the simulator.
And then flew the airplane later. And there was a clearance that had Agachi in it because Duane and I had never been in an airplane with a flight management system, with a keyboard. Well, my situational awareness went way back before that, before there was one. We got up in the approach environment. And I'm pointing out here, situational awareness. Now you have situational awareness of your ministry. So stay in your own lane and understand. And don't try to be just all different kinds.
Everybody does the work of an evangelist. Everybody wins souls. - Commanded to. - Yes. Anyway, and we got up in that approach environment and had Duane made one keystroke, that would have turned us around and gone back out. Now, what made me think about this is Clyde McGee. On that system, well, the proper name for it is Magenta, but they're pink. - Right. - If you're on satellite, you're on pink needles. If you're on land-based, it's green.
So we got up in there, the situation like that was the runway. If we'd have done the other thing, it had turned back out here. We were in here like this. I just said, "Duane, forget it. Go green needles. I'll intercept the ILS and we'll land." The young man that was the examiner, he didn't appreciate that a bit. He really wanted that to happen because he wanted to teach us the difference. But I've been flying so long that my situational awareness- - Was already there. - Was already there.
So in my mind, I knew where I was in relationship to that airport. Now, in my situational awareness, I know what I'm called to do. And before 2024 came in, I went to the prayer cabin to find out what I'm supposed to do. And the Lord changed some things for me. So He changed my lane a little bit. But everyone should have a spiritual situation awareness to know what you're called to do. My dad's older brother, my Uncle Dale, he was called to serve people and he knew it.
And at the time, he had the largest service station in San Angelo, Texas. Now, I've lived long enough to know when they were filling stations. - That's right. - Wasn't anybody there. And there was a big glass jar up on top of the pump. And you'd do this until you squirt enough gas in there to get however much you wanted to put in your car and then take the handle down, squirt it in it and go pay for it. That was a filling station. He had a service station.
He had a mechanic on duty, sold parts, tires, had a wash bay and had a number of people working for him. And everybody in San Angelo, Texas knew Dale Copeland. That was his dream in life. And that's what he did. And it was the best one anywhere around. So that's what he was called to do and he knew it. That was just part of the times. But my grandfather knew what he was called to do. He was a farmer.
And I'm telling you, he said, "Kenneth, there's not anything more beautiful in the world than a cotton plant when it blooms out, get out there and take his hat off and pray over that farm. His farm always produced. He knew what he's called to do. And he did it. He did it well. - That's right. That's good. ♪ If ever there was a "Be The One" story, this is certainly it.
