♪ In every generation, there have been revivals, massive moves of the Spirit that changed the course of history. In every revival, there were believers like you who chose to answer the call to become the one in their generation. Discover your call to be the One in your generation. ♪ Welcome to Revival Radio TV, I'm your host Gene Bailey. Glad you're back with us and also back with us, Rebecca Friedlander. Rebecca, thank you for coming back on the program.

And I know you've got something else going. You've got a new book coming out, Taking the Gate. Let's dive into this. What is this all about? - Well, you know, I think a lot of times we look at other people, we see how God is moving in their lives. And we want to tap into that anointing for ourselves. - Sure. And this provides a really strategic way where we can pick up some biblical tools and really see God show up in our lives. - Now, I've got a picture here.

And you said this is part of what has happened in the book. And it's a picture of you in the hospital bed. You must have been in an accident. Explain this. - Yeah, the picture shows a close of me when I was nine years old. I was in a car accident on Christmas Day. And my whole family was involved in the car accident. And I had a lot of glass on my face. I was thrown from the car. And so I had to have plastic surgery. They had to go in there and stitch up my face, you know.

So after I came out of the hospital and got some healing, we realized that there was one little piece of glass right close to my eye that had not been removed. You could literally feel it. And you know, when you're kind of moving into junior high years, that's just bragging rights, right? I've got a little piece of glass in there, you know. But as I kept growing, it began to hurt. So they had to go in there and pull out that piece of glass.

And then fast forward about five years down the road, I was having a pain in my eye. And they had to take me back into the hospital or into the doctor's office. And they realized that there was a little shard of glass that had embedded itself in my eyeball and was just now coming to the surface. And of course, they were able to get it out. And praise God, didn't have any long-term results from that.

But I realized that that is kind of the journey of the healing process that so many of us go through. We have things happen in our life, whether it's traumas or even generational things that are passed down to us. And sometimes we think we deal with those things. But just as part of the natural growth process, there's some more stuff that comes to the surface. So this book is a tool that we can use to really kind of strategically walk through a few areas. It's got prayers in it.

It's got declarations. And we can kind of pull out some of that leftover shrapnel, if you will, and be so much more freer and healed to move forward. - Well, kind of walk us through at number one, just like you said you had stuff left there for you. I can see the connection. We have a tendency to keep on. Sometimes we hold on to things we shouldn't hold on to. Sometimes we don't know they're even there. So how do you walk through this? Because you're really talking about it.

Obviously, it's Revival Radio TV, but you're really talking about a personal revival of what's happening here. - Absolutely. - So launch into it. Explain how this works. - Yeah, and I'm so excited about this because it does work. I feel like people often, we're looking for both wisdom and understanding, if I can say it this way. We need understanding to be able to identify some of those open doors or open gates in our life.

And then we need wisdom to know what to do with those places, how to apply God's truth so we can receive healing and move forward. And so that's what this book does. It identifies about five different gates in every person's life. Every human being has these, whether it's generational things, whether it's wounds from past ministry trauma, whether it's areas of forgiveness or occult, you know, witchcraft things or anything that has been opened up in our life. There's about five major areas.

And we talk through each one of those in the book from a biblical standpoint, and we identify strategically those places. You just write a list of the things that we talk about in the book, and there's prayers, declarations that you can pray as we begin to identify these things and apply God's truth. And what I've heard over and over from people, that they feel lighter afterwards. They can hear the voice of God clearer. It's like baggage left that they didn't even know they were carrying.

And some people have gotten physically healed from breaking off the spiritual trauma that's been holding on to them. And they've been able to get free, even physically. - So why do we hold on to trauma? Because that seems kind of silly. You seem like, well, of course we want to get rid of trauma, but we have a tendency to hold on to it. Why is that? - I think it tends to hold on to us.

And sometimes there's things, just like that little piece of glass in my face, that we don't even know that it's there. And sometimes our natural growth, even spiritually growing closer to the Lord, it kind of brings things to the surface. And it's just knowing what to do with those things when they come up. - So, all right. So give me an example of how this works. First off, what was the inspiration for you to do this, start this book?

- So I've had a lot of mentoring by really good deliverance ministers. And I talk more about that in the books. And they've really taken me under their wing and poured into me. And I've been leading people through this for the past 15 years or so.

And finally thought, okay, I need to bring my own resource in and create a space that has kind of some things that I've ministered to people privately and have learned as I've put all these pieces together that have been really effective and create something for our ministry. - A quote in here you said, "Some books are written in peace and safety, others are written while hopping between storm clouds and dodging power outages. I'm like, I think I've been on that cloud. So explain that.

I know I'm kind of keep rapid fire here. But what do you mean by that? - So I started writing this book earlier this year when I was taking these principles and I was speaking in churches in the British Isles. And I had been training. I have a ministry in East Texas. We train people with prophetic teams. We take people through these things. And I started taking it over to some churches in other nations. And I began to see people get free.

It was like a three-hour course that we could just do with any group of people. And people started totally experiencing breakthrough. Some people even say, I have never heard personally from God. But as they started doing this, after they would tackle this three-hour session, in the middle of the night, the next night, they would have a dream from the Lord. We have that happen pretty regularly, where after people do this, they start having dreams and revelations from the Lord.

Because it's like it clears up your spirit man to be able to receive. And so I started writing as I was on the road and staying at a place in Wales, stayed in different hotels. Some of them were actually locations where Masonic organizations had met or been founded. And so there was actually a lot of spiritual warfare in the atmosphere in those places. And then came home to Texas, and we were right in the middle of major power outages.

So I'm trying to find ways to plug in my laptop and do a battery base. So it was a lot of in-between places. It was not an easy book to write. But I feel like that even kind of pressed it to be more effective. - So what does it mean you say, take the gates? Explain that. Break that down. - Sure. So we have different gates in our lives, and some of them are easy to identify. So for instance, our eye gate.

If we actually identify that's a place that allows things to come into our life, we can begin to ask ourselves, how well am I doing with taking this gate? Which actually letting Holy Spirit help us really own what comes into my eyes. That may be affecting my heart, affecting my spirit man. Other gates may be, again, those five that I mentioned earlier that are really common ones, that the enemy comes in and tries to take up residence. So like generational curses.

Just like Adam and Eve, how they sinned and it affected all their children. Or how David sinned with Bathsheba in adultery, and that affected not only them, but also their family. There are different generational curses that we didn't have anything to do with, but our ancestors opened up doors for us. And so we can learn how to, again, identify those places, close those doors, and really get free. And it really is just picking up the tools Jesus gave to us.

- So how do you do that when you don't know? Like you mentioned your ancestors. I mean, the internet wasn't around for a lot of our ancestors. So how do you know what happened? How do you identify the trauma or the door, the gate that was open? How do you do that? - Well, we always tell people, when in doubt, cast it out, which is what one of my mentors used to say. And so, for instance, you're not responsible for what you don't know.

But a lot of us really do know quite a bit about our parents and grandparents. So, for instance, my grandfather committed suicide before I was ever born. We found out later that somebody was doing voodoo on him. And he was in a place of mental torment. Never knew that Jesus could help him overcome these things and set him free. And ended up committing suicide. So because I know about that, I can identify there was a spirit of death that was loosed on my family.

There was a spirit of probably mental torment and depression. There's things that you can see from that. And you can actually see them trying to come down the family line when multiple people are kind of going through the same spiritual oppression. So we try to identify the things we know, and the book helps us do that. And then there's also a prayer that asks the Lord to cover us from things that we don't know. And that in His grace and mercy, that He would break off anything that's unseen.

- So, you talk about this helping you with personal revival. How does it take you to that place? Maybe you can dive a little deeper in that. - Yeah, so I tell people and just encourage people that when you give your life to Jesus, it's like giving Him the keys to your house. And we're the temple of the Holy Spirit, right? And most of us, if we were to move into a new house, we would probably go in and deep clean first.

I wouldn't probably move into a kitchen that has crumbs from the last person's occupancy. And I think so many times we give our lives to Jesus, but we don't actually do a spiritual house cleaning. And that's what this does. It just brings in that cleansing power of the blood of Jesus in some really practical ways. And then once we do that, we invite Him in, and there's a freedom. There's a fullness. There's a fresh consecration.

And there's some really amazing things that happen when He's able to come in all the way. It looks different for every person. But it's just kind of those next steps that we can take. - So you call it a spiritual cleanse, which sounds a little scary, because we know what a kidney cleanse and a liver cleanse, and they're usually not comfortable. But kind of break that down. What is a spiritual cleanse?

- Well, I love that you used that analogy, because we have toxins that build up in our physical body, right? And the spiritual body is the same thing. What's not super scary about this one is that you don't have to do a 40-day fast. You don't have to lay on a bed of nails. It's just a three-hour cleanse that you can do personally, and you pray through, and you go through these specific things.

And while it does take some intentionality to think back and work through these things, people will find that if they really want to walk through it and partner with Holy Spirit, it's actually really freeing. And it's almost like the Lord celebrates every step of the way. I've had people, multiple people, who have taken this cleanse, and in the middle, the Lord Himself has spoken to them and said, "Thank you for doing this with me," because it's really just a way to honor Him.

- Sure. So tell us some of the history, some of the experiences that you've heard about. How did this happen? - Yeah, so we had, I remember one woman that I walked through this, she was in the hospital continually, and the doctors didn't know what was wrong. And so eventually, I finally kept talking to her. I think you need to do a spiritual cleanse. She finally said yes, and we sat down together, and we started working through this.

And we realized that there had been a moment in her teenage years that she had a traumatic event happen and had struggled with just feeling very spiritually oppressed in a lot of darkness from that moment. And she had been a Christian this whole time, but now in her 40s, she was still having to fight this spiritual oppression. So we prayed through the prayers that are listed in the book, and we identified that, and she got this shocked expression on her face and said, "It's gone.

That spiritual darkness I had been fighting for so many years is completely gone. And we've also had people get physically healed. I take people through this on groups on Zoom. We had a woman just recently, and she had a problem with her eye. She had been up in the middle of the night struggling with eye problems, putting tea bags in her eyes, all that kind of thing. And then in the middle of the cleanse, she was like, God just healed me. That thing just absolutely left.

Sometimes when we even have people in the middle of doing the cleanse, they'll be like, I just came in with shoulder pain today, but my shoulder pain is absolutely gone. So we notice that sometimes it actually does affect your spiritual body. - Sure. So I'm looking at your chapters here. You talked about the spiritual cleanse, but then your next chapter is here on sealing the doors. What is that? So often when people do a spiritual cleanse, they feel really peaceful. They feel really light.

And one of my biggest questions that I receive after that is, how can we take this back to our home? I do a lot of ministry at my cabins in East Texas, and people are like, we love the atmosphere here. How can I experience this at home? And so as I teach people how to cleanse their life, I also teach them how to cleanse their home. And that as well is very biblical.

There's scriptures for each part of it, because I really believe that God wants to bring the peace and the shalom of Holy Spirit into our home. So there's not an atmosphere of chaos. And sometimes it's actually a spiritual battle. It's not just having to work on communication or all of those things that we need to do anyway. But sometimes those things happen much easier after we've cleansed our home. - Yeah. All right.

So let's talk about, you kind of get into here into land cleansing, which for a lot of people, it does sound a little scary. Sounds new agey. So kind of walk us through history of that and what that really means. - Absolutely. So if you look at Old Testament prophets, especially in people like Ezekiel and their writings, God will actually tell them to go and speak to the land. Like he told Ezekiel to go speak to the land of Israel and tell them that redemption was coming.

He had them go prophesy to the land. And even Jesus said, "Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem." You know, he was talking about a geographical place. And we know that in the very beginning when God gave Adam dominion over the earth, that was a stewardship thing, right? You know, that was this idea that he was given a physical location to steward. And so all I teach people is that there's both a physical responsibility, but there's also a spiritual authority that you're given to also steward that place.

And we see God bringing that in with even the blood on the doorposts over the Passover that they were marking their homes for protection. And so I teach people to take those principles and learn how to anoint their home with oil. And in my own personal life, I've seen a huge difference. I mean, it is like welcoming the Holy Spirit personally and his peace, making your home a refuge space when you learn how to anoint it with oil. It just brings the peace of God. So that's one of the first things.

And then also we see this also in history, not just in Scripture, but with the early Celtic saints and how in revival history, their places were signs and wonders breaking out and healings and miracles and all these things. And they did some of these same things in pretty amazing ways as they learned how to take the land. - So how did they do it? How did they cleanse the land? - So the records that we have tell us that they would go in to a place and they had a different mentality.

They really believed God wanted to redeem the land. And part of their purpose was to carry that out. So they wouldn't go to the biggest metropolitan places, you know, and set up their church or set up their community. They would go to the most outcast and remote places, places that were considered to be cursed, places that, you know, Columba set up his community, Iona, and it was a Druid university on the island.

And he went in and when the king actually gave him the island, so he had to go in and cleanse the land because it had been used for occult purposes. But it actually became one of the most historic and monumental Celtic communities and very apostolic, just a huge hub for training their leaders. So they would actually go in and they would build what was called a vallum, which was a circle of stones around their area. And it wasn't even so much for protection.

It was literally to mark a space so they could pray and consecrate that space to God. And they would spend 40 days praying and fasting over the land so that it could be used for God's purposes. And we have records of this. And those were the places of the presence of God, just like Jerusalem was in the Old Testament where there was all the fasting and prayer and worship. I mean, you had to know the presence was so strong there. And the Celtic saints did the same thing in their community.

- So understanding, when people read this book, are they going to understand where their homes and what they should do to their houses? - Absolutely. - So how is that going to... we talked in the beginning about a personal revival. How does all that kind of fit together for a personal revival? - Well, the early Celts used to say that prayer was a lifestyle. And some of the more modern Celts, like Andy Raine, they say they would teach the people to live their prayers and pray their lives.

So it's this idea that the Holy Spirit was invited to every aspect of your life. Of course, we know when the Holy Spirit shows up, God starts moving. People start getting healed. The presence of God starts touching people. I've had so many people, because we practice this on my land, at my cabin in East Texas. And we have people getting delivered and set free and sometimes even healed when they step foot on the property before we ever pray for them.

And we've had testimony after testimony of how this stuff really works. And so, again, this is not New Age. This is not a cult. This is actually taking biblical principles and going, how do I live this out? - So what are some of the biblical ways you walk through this? - So, for instance, it talks about, in the Old Testament, it talks about not removing your boundary markers, right? And so when we think of, well, how do I put up my boundary markers?

- So what you're saying, God's for building a wall. - I think we have to know what we're called to steward, right? If Adam was called to dress and keep a garden, what is our garden that we're called to protect, that we're keeping to protect with a hedge of thorns? There are some things that we need to protect. - All right, so keep going. I'm sorry I interrupted you. - No, no, that's good.

And I think when we use... we don't use blood anymore, but we can use the oil, which signifies the blood of Jesus. And it's a powerful tool. I tell my teams, it's almost like pulling out your lightsaber in the Spirit, because the Spirit realm is called to attention when we use the oil and walk in on authority. So I teach people in the book how to anoint their property lines with oil, to plead the blood of Jesus over their property, how to anoint their home with oil.

There's prayers in the book, how to take communion over your property, take communion with yourself. And you're just going to use those scriptural principles and just, it's basically just letting the Lord know and letting the enemy know you mean business, you know, and just taking up your weapons. - That's good. All right, so how can people get Taking the Gate, a Handbook for Spiritual Freedom, how can they get that?

- So they can go to my website, rebeccafriedlander.com, and there you'll find links for the book. They can find it on Amazon. They can also sign up to take a spiritual cleanse if they want to do it in a small group online. And all that's on rebeccafriedlander.com. - So Rebecca, in thinking about this, I like to get the one thing on these people, someone that has a new book. But tell me what's the one thing about this that I probably didn't know that I need to pick up from this.

- I think we have more authority than we think we do. - Explain. - I think when Jesus died, he gave us the key, and that key opens up a whole treasure chest of spiritual armor, spiritual weapons, spiritual tools that we can use. And I think the enemy's very afraid of people who step into that journey and learn who they are. - Yeah, wow, that's so good. Why don't you take the next few minutes and pray for the people at home?

I can feel people watching going, oh man, not only do I need to get that book, but I need to understand more. So take your liberty. - Oh, Holy Spirit, we just thank You. Jesus, we thank You. Father, we thank You that You made a way for us to put on Christ, that You made a way for us to walk in victory, to experience that abundant fullness of life. And I thank You right now, Lord.

I just feel like You're challenging people to take the next step in this season and say, maybe I don't know how to put on my spiritual armor, or I don't know how to anoint my home with oil, but I'm ready to learn. So Lord, I just pray that You would empower people with courage right now. And in these dark days, we've got to walk in everything Jesus enabled us to walk in. So Father God, I just pray courage and grace and wisdom for people as they take this journey with You. In Jesus' name, amen.

- Amen, amen. All right, so Handbook for Spiritual Freedom. You know, you told us one. Tell me some of the other, another testimony of somebody that's gone through this. - I work with people all the time who come either personally to me or over Zoom, or they give me testimonies of how they've done the book on their own, because you can walk through it by yourself as well. I remember there was this one young lady who came to the cabin. And at first, she just wanted to do it privately.

And I know her really well. I had that relationship with her, so I kind of challenged her a little bit. And I was like, you know, I think you need to come here and do it with me and with one of my intercessors, because we want to agree with you. There's strength in numbers. And so she comes. She starts walking through the cleanse. And all of a sudden, we stop to pray, because we pray a lot during it. And she begins to have an open vision of Jesus. And this happens over and over again.

And it's actually the reason why I love doing this with people, because he shows up every time. Jesus just loves when his people get free. And so, in the middle, she has this vision of Jesus, and Jesus starts setting her free. And he begins to identify how to apply these truths to her heart. He just comes in and does the work. And I could tell you more stories than I can count of those very things happening, that he shows up in the middle of this process.

And by the end, people walk out, and they're like, I just can't believe it, but I've overcome so many things that I've been trying to solve in my head, but they really needed to be done through spiritual warfare. And it just works. - That's good. You know, you've traveled the world, and you've shared a lot of that with us on this program. How do you think that's helped you?

Do you think that's helped you be more sensitive when you dive into the Celtic history, just to name one group of videos that you've done? Has that helped you, you think, to be more perceptive when you look back at the history of it all?

- I think that when you put your feet on different places in the world, especially places where there was moments of revival history that happened, when you have an understanding of the spiritual warfare, we actually have a chapter in the book also about angels, you know, what Scripture says about angels, and even how sometimes when we're learning how to do this, God gives us a gift of discerning of spirits.

And when you can put your feet on some of these places where revivals have happened, and all of a sudden you can connect with the Holy Spirit in a whole new way. Like, there are moments, and some of them I even share, in the book, like I went to the place of Azusa Street Revival on Bonnie Brae Street, where it all started, you know? And with some of this understanding, I was with a little group, we went to do an all-night prayer service a number of years ago.

And I mean, we're sitting there, you know, playing guitar and singing worship, and to be honest, I got a little bored. And I'm like, okay, I know there's got to be more in this place, that the Holy Spirit's got to have more of a treasure chest here, if you will. And so I changed the way I was praying, and I just said, God, if there's any angels that are here that have some kind of deposit to bring us, would you quicken them to release it to us?

And I kid you not, it was a small group of between five and ten people. As soon as I finished praying that prayer, the power of God fell, and everybody got on their face on the floor. And it was the moment of just encountering Holy Spirit in a powerful way. And I went from that place and went to minister to Scotland, and God did amazing things. It was like, when you understand some of these concepts, you can ask Holy Spirit for more.

Even in some of these Revival places, and just believe that, you know, these are great places to visit, but there's also a mantle there. For those who have the courage, you know, to go after it and get it, I believe He wants to give it to us. - Rebecca, thank you for coming on the program. The book, Taking the Gate, there it is right there, you can see it on your screen. A handbook for spiritual freedom. We all need a little bit more freedom, and a cleanse is a good thing to have.

All right, you know what to do. Keep watching, share this on all your social media, go to our website, check it out. And we'll see you next time, right here, next week, Revival Radio. ♪
