♪ In every generation, there have been revivals, massive moves of the Spirit that changed the course of history. In every revival, there were believers like you who chose to answer the call to become the one in their generation. Discover your call to be the one in your generation. ♪ Welcome to Revival Radio TV. I'm Gene Bailey. Today is a great program, and you're going to really enjoy this. Of course, we're going to talk about revival. I know it's a shock, right?

But our guest today is a revival historian, but she's also the great-granddaughter of one of the most famous miracle revival tent preachers, A.A. Allen. So she's going to share some insights about revival and a few stories we have not heard before about one of our favorite preachers. ♪ [Rebekah] I spent a good portion of my childhood hearing stories about how great God is and what He's capable of. And it really stirred something in my heart as a child.

I remember going when I was about nine years old on a family vacation, and out came all of these miracle magazines like, you know, these ones here, just so many different magazines showing just a monthly dialogue of all that God is capable of that was going on in the ministry of my great-grandfather. My great-grandpa was A.A. Allen. And he was known for quite a few things during the healing revival of the 1950s and 60s. And this was his tent that went up in 1960. It was the world's largest tent.

And this tent was actually larger than an American football field. It was absolutely massive and would seat 20,000 people. So they would fill it three times a day most of the year, day after day in various campaigns. And the scale and scope of what happened was quite incredible. [A.A. Allen] Oh, I believe that God wants to come to people under this tent tonight. Jesus may desire to come to you. Last night he came to a man here on a stretcher, given up to die there said his daughter tonight.

Said he's feeding himself today. He's having a great time. Oh, friend, listen to me. God came to people here last night. God came to multitudes of people last night. He comes to people morning, afternoon, and night under this tent. And people on these stretchers and these wheelchairs that can't walk, God is going to come to them tonight. I think that my great-grandfather was searching to learn how to go about the call of God on his life.

When he was just at that moment of having a radical encounter with God where he was saved as a young man at 23 years old, he had a vision at that time and saw masses of crowds of people that he was preaching to, and hundreds and thousands of people were coming to the altar to get saved in these meetings. And this was a vision that God had given him at the time that he became a Christian. And he began to go on this journey of trying to discover, how do I actually make that happen?

And so he really pursued going after learning whatever was going to get him in front of the calling on his life. And he knew that he was supposed to be saving souls. That was his mission, was bring people into the Kingdom of God just like he had come in. [A.A. Allen] Today is the day of salvation. Now, now, right now, it's the accepted time. Bow your heads, everybody, bow your heads. I'm going to tell you this. While your heads are bowed, you've got 15 seconds.

What you do in the next 15 seconds can determine where you spend eternity. Get your hand ready. Don't raise it till I say three. But when I say three, if you want to be remembered in this prayer, and are willing to pray yourself and follow my instructions, you'd better get your hand up to heaven and let God see it. Here we go. Here's the first one. One. Here's the second one. Watch out. Two. Get your hand ready.

Every sinner, every backslider, every one of you that are unsure, get your hand up now. Get your hand ready. Here it comes. Here it comes. Here it is. Pray. Watch out. Watch out. It's now or never. It's heaven or hell. Here it is. Three. Raise your hand, every sinner. I'm going to pray for you. I'm going to pray for you right where you stand. Everyone with your hand raised, stand on your feet right where you are. I'm going to pray. I'm going to pray for you now. Bow your heads.

You devil, in the name of Jesus, take the chains and the shackles off of this people. Let them go. I pray, I claim them for heaven. In Christ tonight, in Jesus' name. It's done. Wait a minute. Don't sit down. Don't sit down, lady. If you do, you may be lost forever. You've got one more thing to do. Every one of you that are standing, do one more thing. Go to the aisle nearest you. Come running down this aisle as fast as you can run. We're coming to Jesus.

Come running and stand in front of me for 30 seconds. Come down these aisles. [Rebekah] You know, he was really one that got into that place with God because he knew that if he was going to have a ministry that impacted lives, he was going to need God in his corner and with him on that journey. It's incredible to see the scale of ministry.

There was over 15,000 ministers that were in his network all over the world, and he had a property called Miracle Valley, and there was 2,400 acres that was a training center. The Miracle Revival Training Center included a Bible school, which was one of the first fully racially integrated Bible schools in America.

The scale of the miracle magazines that were coming out on a monthly basis, these were actually going out like about 30 pages per month just detailing what had happened in that month or the previous month and sharing healings that were taking place because it really marked his ministry. There was a lot of incredible miracles that transpired. In fact, there's a few magazines here that come to mind that really showcase some of the miracles.

So here's a tiny club feet that little toes grew on for this baby, and that is what I would classify as a creative miracle. And then we've got things where here's a new kneecap for someone, and all of these were medically verified. He and my great-grandma really felt it was incredibly important to be able to verify things, so they would never put anything in here.

A lot of the most magnificent miracles never actually made it into publicity because they just wanted to verify everything and see what God was up to. So we just see some incredible miracles. This woman lost over 200 pounds right in the meeting, which was quite dramatic. And we've got somebody here, he had a severed arm, and it completely was restored, even though the doctors had given up on his arm being restored. He was looking at an amputation.

And there are other miracles that happened as well. [A.A. Allen] Did you bring me this man's dinner? You've got it ready. Cancer of the stomach. Every bite he eats, he vomits it up, is that right? - Yes, he vomits everything. - Even his water? - Even his water, juice and everything. - Juice and everything? - Everything. What did the doctors say, that he'll just have to starve to death now? - Yes, I can do nothing for him. He just has to starve to death. He's too weak to go through surgery.

- And he'll have to starve to death. - Yes, just like that. - Do you believe it's God's will for him to starve? [Congregation] No. - Oh, my Lord, as sure as God provided the Word of life, the Word of God that people might live spiritually, God has provided bread that he can live physically. Brother, I'm going to pray tonight. And Jesus is going to heal you, you believe it? - I sure do. - You believe Jesus is going to heal you tonight? - Yes, I do. Yes, I know he will.

- You brought this man a long way, didn't you? - From San Jose. - San Jose. - California, near San Francisco. - How many miles is that? - Oh, that's about 200 or 300-odd miles. - That's a long ways to go to church. He's come with his shoes on. You dressed him all up, didn't you? - Yes, I did. - You believe he's going to get up from there? - Yes, he even brought his suit because he said, "I'll bring my suit because when I come back, I'm going to wear my suit back home. (cheering) - Hallelujah.

He brought his suit. He's still got his robe on, though. Well, get his suit ready. I want to see what he looks like in it. That's all right. That's all right. We're going to pray. How many would like to see the power of God fall on this man? Set him free and heal him right now. Do you believe it? Bring me a supper right now. Say amen. Do you believe it? Too bad we don't have fried chicken, but this is all they have out there at the concession stand. Ham salad sandwich.

Made for Monday. This is Sunday. You're getting this a day early, son. How many believe he can eat it? Golden State. The best in Southern California. The devil's a liar. Did you bring him a straw? Is he going to drink? You've got the straw. Everything's all right. Let's praise the Lord first, everybody. Oh, the devil's a liar. Do you believe it tonight? [Congregation] Yes. Oh, God, let the Spirit and the power of God come on this man. Look at these poor legs.

My God, my God. In the name of Jesus, I curse this foul cancer. I curse this cancer. In the name of Jesus, I command this cancer die. I command this cancer die. Pass from this stomach. You devil, let this man eat. You cannot starve him to death. I claim life for this man. I curse this cancer. In the name of Jesus, Lord, let these legs walk again. Let this body be supported again. Let this stomach receive food. Give this man strength tonight. Let the power of God go through him.

Raise him from this bed this minute, Lord. In the name of Jesus. Amen. Brother, in the name of Jesus, I command you, get up. (cheering) Come here. (cheering) Say amen. Here, sit down here. Find a seat. Now, Father, I'm going to let you pray the blessing on his dinner. Pray God's blessing on his dinner. - Oh Father, we come in Your name. We thank You with all our heart. Bless this daily bread. Thank You, my Lord and my Jesus. - In the name of Jesus. Now, then, here's your dinner.

I command it to go down. I command it to go down. I command it go down. It's just going clear down. There's half of it. Maybe you better stop and rest a little bit. (cheering) He's doing it. The straw was too slow. The straw was too slow. Say amen everybody. Come up here. What? Here. What's happened? - Well, I drink all the milk. That's all I can say right now. - Oh, forgot this. Here's the sandwich. How did that milk taste? - Oh, it tastes wonderful. - Tastes wonderful? - Yes, it does.

- Oh, my. I was never so excited. Do you believe God's done something for him? How many believe the Lord's done something for him? [Rebekah] While all of that is so special and it marks people's lives and we can be so inspired by it, I think we have to go back to the beginning and realize that this doesn't scale overnight. And when you look at... something that is called the Tent Cathedral because it can fit 20,000 people in it, and it often did, that's not something that happened overnight.

In fact, it was an exceptionally expensive tent to produce, and the Barnum & Bailey brothers actually came and trained the staff on how to put it together because it was just something that nobody in the world knew how to do other than the Circus Brothers.

And when you go back to when it all started, he was actually just in somebody's house preaching to 24 people and then going on to the next city and then going on to the next city, and he would do this with my great-grandma and my grandpa and great-uncles and aunt in tow as he would go from little town to little town. And for years, the largest he would see is maybe a few hundred in some of his meetings.

So for years, he was just being faithful, and they were on the breadline trying to make it work financially. And some of those early days, my great-grandpa was actually staying in like a deserted cabin meant for grain with no door on the front of it, put a cloth up and hope it keeps some of the draft out. The sacrifice was great, and we can be inspired by the magnitude of the ministry, but we have to also be inspired by the sacrifice that's needed to get there.

I think my great-grandpa had such an ability to be able to see visions. It was like a TV screen for him. He'd see it above people in the tent when he was looking out in the crowd, and it would be like just a screen just scrolling for him and showing him exactly what was going to happen. So he would lean into those visions that God was showing him and say, "I'm seeing this. Where are you in the room?" Or like, "There you are, come forward."

And that's one of the ways that God spoke to him specifically. [A.A. Allen] Under this tent tonight is a woman who is bound by a suicide demon. Did you ever hear a voice say, "Life isn't worth living, you might as well die, you might as well end it all?" Wherever that woman is, I want her to get up right now and come down here, because God's going to set you free from this suicide devil. By that I mean a suicide demon. Am I talking to you? Hand me that.

None of these suicide demons never come under this tent unless I feel it. How many believe that God does let us feel these things? In our spirit. Do you want God to do something for you? - Yes, I do, Brother Allen. - What's your trouble? - Well, this thing that's been bothering me seems to tell me there's no hope for me. That's why I tried to kill myself. - Have you tried to kill yourself? - Three times. - Three times? - Have you ever seen me before? - No. - Have you ever talked to me before?

- No. - Is this the first time you've been here? - Yes, it is. - Why did you come tonight? - Well, I had faith that something would happen. It just had to happen. - You want God to help you? I see you've got scars all over your wrists. I see where the stitches have sewn them up. My, my, you just cut that one all to pieces, didn't you? How many believe that God can help this poor girl? There will be 30,000 people commit suicide in America this year.

If you are not freed and loose from this spirit that oppresses you and possesses you, domineers and controls you, you could be next. This type of demon spirit especially preys upon the sick who can't get well, people seemingly that cannot be healed. It preys upon people who have been unsuccessful in love or matrimony. Especially does it prey upon people who have had financial reverses.

This particular type of demon preys upon this kind of people, the special people with deformity or people that feel that they're not as beautiful as others or as handsome as others. But our God is greater than that, isn't he? Jesus said, "Behold, I give you power over all, the power of the devil." Is that right? Hear me. Nothing but an unclean suicide spirit or demon would prey upon a girl until she'd slash her wrists and cut her arms in such a manner. Everybody under this tent stand back there.

You're going to pray with me tonight. We're believing God to set this woman free. No need to cry anymore. God's going to do something for you tonight. - I'm in trouble. There's no hope for me. - Uh-huh. Tell us again. - The thing that's had me troubled, it keeps telling me I'm just doomed. That's all. There's just no hope. - She hears a voice that says you're doomed. There is no hope. Nobody loves you. Are you ready? Preachers, put your hands up and pray with me.

Raise your hands, everybody, and join me in prayer. In the name of Jesus, thou foul suicide demon, thou unclean spirit that binds this girl, I rebuke you in Jesus' name. I command you and I charge you. Let her go. In the name of Jesus, come out of her. Let her go in Jesus' name, I command. Loose her now. Oh, God. Give her the joy of the Lord in her heart. The joy of the Lord in her heart. Make life worth living from this very moment in the name of Jesus.

Put your hands up and start praising the Lord. [Rebekah] I would say that one of the greatest parts of legacy that my great-grandpa A.A. Allen has is his souls, winning people for the Kingdom of God. And although there were lots of people who were healed and it did dramatically change those families' lives when that happened, it was bringing people into the Kingdom.

There were millions of people who were transformed out of darkness into light and were able to sit at the throne of Jesus because of that, and that's incredible. But I think also he came from such a broken home and he completely transformed his life by the power of God because he was completely delivered of that lifestyle and moved away from it and just went on for the things of God.

And he took all of that zeal in his brokenness and all of that sense of rebellion and he used it to actually transform society. He was a major part in the civil rights movement starting, and I think that is something that secular scholars are very interested in is his impact on the civil rights movement because he helped people who were of all races feel loved and accepted and valued, and he gave them space.

He consistently loved well, and I think that as an Allen family member, that's something that gives me great joy to know that I have a family heritage of just loving people well.

That's a legacy in my family, but I think seeing souls won for the Kingdom is a legacy in its own because we will never know the impact that the world has had as a result of that and the people who actually started ministry as a result of being transformed in those meetings and going on and transforming the world and in their corner of it. ♪ [Gene Bailey] I hope you've been enjoying these stories, but more importantly, I hope they inspire you to step up and be what God's called you to be.

I just want to encourage you that whatever has been your obstacle, just take it to God, and he'll give you wisdom, and Holy Spirit will give you the power to be everything God has called you to be. Remember, God is your biggest fan, and he loves you, and he's made a way for you. In fact, he said, "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you'll have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world," John 16:33, and let me say this.

There were times in my life I kept trying, and I think we all do this. We try to live up to a standard that we think we should be, but the truth is God isn't looking for that. He's looking for availability. We've heard that from everybody from A.A. Allen to Kathryn Kuhlman. God is just looking for someone that's available to him, so make yourself available. Don't try and get all cleaned up before you're there. Don't worry. God will take care of that.

Let's pray. Heavenly Father, I pray for everyone watching today. Lord, as they've seen and heard

from A.A. Allen's great-granddaughter, Lord, that they're encouraged, they're edified, they're built up, and Lord, I pray that as this week unfolds, before they will do things that they never thought they would do, they'll step out in ways that they never thought they would step out, and they'll depend on You, and Holy Spirit lead and guide as we stand up together to be the one to bring a light to this generation because of what You've done for us. In Jesus' name, amen, amen.

Thank you for joining us today. We're not done. So much more to come on Revival Radio TV. We'll see you next week. ♪
