Welcome & Episode Overview

B

What is happening? Happy Monday, everybody. Happy Memorial Day as well. Uh, thank you to all who served. Today we're gonna be chit-chatting about a few different things, including unboxing. This which this is all this is all K's and Clef's fault, okay. This is the Gamer G7 Pro 8K. They say the 8,000 hertz pulling rate somehow is gonna be better, less latency, and I'm sure that's true, but will I notice it? Uh the curiosity was piqued and so we're gonna look at that. Uh and

C

You handle that mouthful real well.

B

Oh thanks. I I'm good at handling those mouthfuls pretty well. And then we're gonna get on with it and we're gonna look at the on eight point one inch tablet.

Host Introductions and Absences

Uh Rob and I both have these in here from Walmart. They're hundred and thirty eight bucks and they're actually ninety hertz refresh rate and it might be awesome for streaming and it might be the best value right now for what you're getting out of a tablet at the price point. So we'll we'll

C

Not only do we have it, but I believe Ben, Mike.

B

Everybody.

C

Everybody for some reason. Isn't that the best option?

B

I think so. There was like pink and other ones, but we all went mocha. So let's let's do it. Uh joined again today by Ooh, where are they? Where are they? Oh there they are. We got Mr. Andrew. And mister Rob the Retro Tech Dad.

C

But we don't have Sony, so excuse our shortcomings for tonight.

B

Yes, producer Sony is in Japan, and so we're gonna figure this out as we go. It'll be good. Yeah.

Taiwan Trip and Show Schedule

C

Yeah.

B

Uh Van is also out tonight. He's actually moving right now into the local furniture mart, and so

C

I called a sweet sixteen party, but I

B

I don't- Well I I couldn't tell which it was. It was one of those two. He's twenty six, not not sixteen.

C

Oh okay, I thought it was fifteen. My bad.

B

No no no no. He's aging. When you age, you go up in age.

C

Oh.

B

Yeah. You keep going up. Unless you're Benjamin Button. Andrew?

C

I mean that's that's Andrew. He he just he seems to get better looking with new every new week.

B

Rob. All right. Now Andrew Andrew doesn't like the compliments. Just calm down there, you know. Uh what are you doing? What what are you up to? What's happening?

C

Look at all these controllers. That box looks awfully familiar.

B

Oh hey.

C

Hey.

B

No.

C

Yeah, I've been I've been busy'cause we're we're we're departing. We're going to uh Taiwan, so I'm getting everything ready.

B

That's right.

C

There you go. That's it. It's been crazy. It's been a crazy couple days. Yeah.

B

We won't have you again for two weeks in a row now for after dark because you're leaving a day earlier to Taiwan and

C

Doing an after dark this Thursday?

B

I'm thinking about it. I I don't want the audience to miss two weeks because I can't do it next week because we're gonna be there and we can't do the show on Monday and so, you know, I wanna do something. So Andrew and I maybe will tinker with something if we're Be on it.

C

Dedication right there.

B

It's for you, the viewer.

C

You do get it. To Taiwan on the same day as me.

B

Yes, because we're sharing a hotel.

C

It was mostly that you do get there in some way.

Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini AI Controversy

B

Are you concerned because

F

Yeah.

B

Uh for my safety, uh excited to see me, or that if y I don't go then you will sleep on the streets.

C

Correct.

B

Okay.

C

The latter option.

B

Uh I can I appreciate the honesty. That's what I like about it. Gentlestone, what's up, man? Sony's skipping the podcast to play Forza Horizon.

C

Is the truth. Yeah.

B

He brought his F one Pro, his one X player F one Pro. I brought this prop just so you can uh visualize Sony having this. On the plane. He he he was editing the podcast, the audio podcast on the plane. He was showing us from uh Japan there. And And zoo, this is boring. Where's the handsome zoo? Zoo, get on the podcast. We're missing a fourth tonight, man. Come on, come on, hop on. We got a zoo review tonight as well. We got his video, but wouldn't it be awesome to have him, you know, live?

C

We don't need him. More more time on Andrew.

D

I don't know what your guys' fixation would mean.

B

We like you.

C

A beard.

B

We know you don't like you, but we like you. We're get to like you.

F

Mm.

D

I just breathe.

B

I it's pretty seven out of ten. Yeah, it's good. Okay. Oh everyone's in live live chat tonight. Welcome everybody. Okay, that's right. Yeah, we'll get the d I hope you're all enjoying a day off. If you have today off. Hanging out with some drinks, with some friends, hanging with family, whatever you may be doing. But we got a show to run, so we're gonna get this going. Rob, it's been a minute, but we can still figure this out. Let's see, let's do a little screen share.

C

I mean what's the worst that could happen?

B

Nah, it's fine. Who knows?

C

With Stubbs manning the control.

B

Now just that's Okay. Right. Uh we talked about the Conquer Pocket block, but now it's been officially shown off from Ione. Uh they've packed it full of AI, I guess, so that's good.

Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini IGS Edition

F

Mm.

C

Can you tell me? Arthur was complaining about AI and then introduced an AI handheld.

B

I guess.

A

I don't know.

C

I don't understand how you're new

D

I don't I don't know what makes this little medium mini knockoff uh AI centric.

B

I'm not sure either. I mean I saw Bob Wolf's tweet about that and he's like, Hey It's just what we needed. A little Game Boy packed with AI. That's

D

Ampernik beat I knew to the punch.

C

Because technically Turter beat both of them to the punch.

F

Yeah.

B

Yeah, man. And I wasn't gonna bring the Gembi out tonight. All right.

D

Sure sure man, do what you want to do.

B

It's our show. Now what

F

Yeah.

C

What? You photo shoot or something?

F

Mm-hmm.

D

Google Translate. That's all I did was Google Translate.

C

I don't believe

D

I swear I did not edit this.

🔊 Rapping

B

Amazing. Okay, this is a direct translation.

D

¿Qué es eso?

C

Did it say P Wright, Uncle Tail? I and Neo founder?

D

Yeah, I guess so.

B

P.

Game MT E5 Mod X Reveal

Uncle Tail, Ione founder. Have you ever played I Neo? You idiot. Get out. I mean it's a catchy s it's not as catchy as their real gamers, no gamers, but I feel like it has more of an impact. You know, it's a little more it's it is bold. It's a bold slogan. Yeah, let's just

C

So, yeah. Potential, you know, customers.

B

Well, I appreciate that they're doing it to our face now, you know, not this the other ways. This is a direct I appreciate uh once again, I appreciate the honesty.

C

I like how Arthur looks completely different than in the other picture of him. Well yeah.

B

Here's the original.

C

The same people.

A

And maybe

B

Somebody who's a native speaker can tell us maybe more closely what this actually says. Because if it really says that, that's that's just incredible. That's just incredible.

C

Mm-hmm.

B

That would be amazing. Okay, but speaking of the handheld itself, uh it looks like we're looking at a hundred twenty hertz display. What flagship performance in this little guy? Oh no, this is what this is what we were worried about last week. It's like, please don't stuff this full of high-end everything, you know, keep this as a budget. Uh flagship performance, 120 hertz display on that little thing. Maybe we're looking at 150 to 300.

But likely more closer to that three hundred range is my fear.

C

I I hope not.

B

More to come.

C

I don't know. Yeah, I don't know who this would be for at that price point.

B

Yeah.

C

Yeah, it's wild. If that's what it ends up being. Yeah, there's there's just no hide. I don't I feel like it's not.

D

They can't release something like the pot uh they can and and they will, I'm sure. Uh but they they like this needed to be a pocket air mini vertical.

Royabella RG36 with RK3326

And it doesn't seem like it's gonna be that way. But if it's more than a hundred and fifty bucks. There's no shot that I'll be anything other than junk.

B

Something that looks like less junk is this new s reskin on the Pocket Air Mini. This is the IGS Arcade Home Limited Edition. So oh, there's two T's there. Addition. Limited Edition. All right.

C

Addition.

B

Addition, addition.$130 for two gigs,$140 for three gigs. This is also available direct from Acnes now for I think the same pricing. So we added links for both.

D

It's ten dollars more for both, but you get five percent off. So it's like one thirty-three for the two gig and then one forty-two fifty for the three gig.

B

Yeah, and I... Again, I just I prefer to go through Acnes usually for these. Um although my pocket air mini did show up okay when I got it from INEO directly. Uh I got uh one from Acnes as well. It showed up about a week faster though. So that was one benefit of Acnes too.

C

This was one I was not expecting as an announcement.

B

Well I mean it's it's it's cool because it has those licensed games on it.

C

IGS games.

B

IGS games, which is kinda cool. So it's like you don't have to You don't only have Android games and then legally gray area options. Like you can play their licensed games that come on it. So it's more like an actual

C

Or remember remember that IGS handheld you looked at? Last year.

B

Yeah, and I I liked it except for the handheld part of it, but I liked the game.

C

At least the handheld part of this one is better.

B

Yeah.

C

I mean you either like them or you don't care about

B

They're good games. Uh Knights of Valor was a lot of fun. Yeah. Yeah.

C

Yeah, it's interesting that they uh did this the kinda licensing thing. Yeah.

B

Yeah.

C

Color's cool, but you know, I I have my B duck one and I'm pretty happy with that one. I don't really feel compelled to go out and get this.

B

Right. I know. This is one where I've I I've held off picking it up so far. Um Acnes is sending one over for us to unbox on the show though, so we we will take a look at this.

C

I bet you Kay has ordered one. He loves red.

B

Yeah, this is totally his color. Yeah. Yeah. It looks nice though. I mean, if you like if the gold, the red, it does look kinda cool. Mm-hmm. What else we got up in this up in this B? Ooh, new Game MT E5 mod X. That's right. So this thing.

D

I w I want this like so bad.

B

Yeah.

F

Yeah.

B

I mean it's cool.

D

I was excited for this. I was excited for the rotate and then this made me not care about the rotate until my review unit showed up.

The R36S Camping Champion

But like now I'm ready for the detachable. Give me modular everything, please.

C

Um yeah, I'm here for all these crazy designs. I think I think that's what we need in this year.

B

Well the RJ or the RG rotate is kind of redefining the whole thing right now. Like they're like saying, Hey, it's cool to to do these sorts of designs and I know this was already in the works before that, but I think it might help boost its sales a bit. Just because the rotate exists.

D

I just modded mine last night.

B

What do you do with it?

D

Change that, swap out the buttons. Send you the picture.

B

Yes, please. Let's take a look. And here's a video. That is a big boy.

C

I was gonna say that's a big

B

Big boy. That the D pad, okay, that's just a sh prototype shell. Okay.

C

oh man that's a big one

B

I was like it's just all it's just a it's just a vacant hole it's just a vacant hole. I thought that was the D pad.

D

No, th so the next video is the game they uh they're playing PSP on it. Mm.

B

Wow. It's over on their uh Roy Bellas Twitter. Yeah.

D

It's not sixteen ton.

C

it's not yeah no What the heck is that?

D

Eight seven?

B

Yeah. Did they list it? Okay.

D

Yeah.

B

They're using their new D pad design, which I very, very am okay with. You know, that's much better. Uh joysticks. Joysticks looks solid. Face button. Again, this is a pre-prototype engineering sample, it looks like, but Looks like they're using the face buttons they used on the um the E three, maybe? Maybe the the X eight.

C

Was it the E five that kind of looks like this one?

D

Yeah, the uh E five and E five ultra at the wide points. Right.

C

It has like a very similar setup on the bottom. I mean the analog sticks are definitely different. They look like the the the what is it, the ginful ones.

B

It is that handheld but probably a better internal.

C

Tablet basically.

B

Better D pad, yeah.

C

Which is kinda cool.

D

For like mag save.

B

Interesting.

C

I wonder how many people are just gonna use it as a little mini tablet.

D

I want to know if they can use the I wanna I'm hoping you can still use a screen even if you detach it. If they like limit it somehow where you to the point you can't, that's gonna suck.

C

No, I I think you can. I think that's like one of its uh selling points, I believe.

D

Hopefully. I haven't seen anything that's that shows that yet. I'm not saying that that's not, you know, whatever, but um yeah. I I'm very excited for this. I like modular devices.

B

Well so and Royabella is where they're selling this. I'm sure it'll come to AliExpress, but R Royabella is kinda like the new Pow Kitty or the spiritual successor to Pow Kitty. And so so far I've been hearing good things about ordering from them. There doesn't seem to be any issues there. Originally, I was like, who is this company? And I know Ben was. They're legit.

C

Yeah, I got I got my uh E three from them.

B

Good, okay.

C

Yeah, so they do they do actually ship product.

B

Okay. All right. Yeah, I know Mr Mr. Who's is running this thing, the uh how kitty CEO.

Company Influence on Reviews & Ethics

They're all partners. Yeah, the trifecta.

D

Yeah, and then so Royabella tweeted something on Sunday and it was random because it happened on it uh not Sunday. Friday twenty second. Uh they released it. Yeah, that the RG thirty six.

B

Yeah, Max.

C

What about the other one? There was also what was it, the P P thirty six or whatever they're calling it?

D

Yeah, but that was uh that's an RK twenty twenty list.

C

But it's a worse RK twenty.

B

I

D

Yeah. Which is why I didn't really talk about it.

C

Like what's happening?

B

Didn't we already look at that though?

C

Oh my god, look at that D pad. It's a basketball.

D

Two weeks ago when it dropped.

B

Okay, yeah. Yeah, an RK twenty twenty So sixty five bucks for this one, seven twenty by seven twenty IPS. This is a RK thirty three twenty six again though, and that's I I was I was thinking like, okay, this is something unique, uh b very basketball themed. There's basketballs everywhere on this, from the D pad to the the logo, the the speaker grille.

C

Fred is in chat, but I saw in the Discord someone said that Fred's the uh the final boss of the RKE thirty three twenty six hands.

B

He totally is. Fred. Fred, this is all you're doing, sir.

C

Yeah, this is this is all you.

B

Yeah.

F

Yeah.

C

When when will we ever stop seeing an RK thirty three twenty six handheld? That that is really

D

When something comes out that's as cheap or near as cheap.

B

I guess. Yeah.

C

Take bets and see like what year what year it will finally happen where we don't get a new release.

D

Twenty eighty five.

F

Yeah.

B

Because this is from the Pow Kitty team, it's like I'm sure quality's gonna be all right. But even they were moved on from the thirty-three twenty six last we checked, you know. They weren't even using it anymore. So why why are we dipping back into this now? You know, they they really could have done something. I know.

C

But probably still is cheap.

D

It's also just a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone. Like we see these po I see these popping up on Amazon all the I know I'm sure Fred does too. We see these on Amazon and AliExpress and Timu. Just popping up all the time. And it's like different variations of the same name, but it's the same specs. Maybe something's different like the D-pad, or you have the soccer ball or the basketball, or there's no butt.

C

The new chemicals, basically. That's all it is, yeah.

B

The sports handheld, but I uh but maybe, maybe it's the new budget king. Get out of the way, Lenovo T02. Uh R thirty six S.

D

That's the thing, the R thirty success is still arguably better.

B

Dude, I was just playing yesterday. I was camping a little bit over the weekend and I was in the woods and I, you know I played the R36S. I didn't want to bring the Thor out because I'm like, I'm gonna get there's you know, there's gonna get schmuts, campground schmutz, the kids are running around. Didn't want to take the Thor max out, I took the R thirty six S out.

And man, it was a champion. I had passed it around. The kids were playing on it. I wasn't worried about it, you know, getting all campfired. And Just yeah, w it was it was a good time. We played Donkey Kong. Country?

D

You do when you can.

B

Lord of the Flies, the children are running around trying to kill each other, they're throwing stuff in the fire, they're throwing

D

With the children?

C

No, we we we've seen what he does on an unboxing. Imagine what he does at actual day to day use of a handheld.

D

I mean we also see what he does day to day. Like in person.

C

That's That's a good point. Damn it.

D

And you're going to Taiwan with them.

B

I live my best life.

C

That's why I need to reconfirm you are arriving the same day as me, right?

F

Yeah.

D

Oh I dropped in the in the you asked about the rotate mod, I dropped the link to the Discord chat.

A

Okay, cool.

B

And Protector says camp smoke. It gets everywhere. It does. And that the everything smells like campfire smoke.

D

No, but you didn't phrase it that way, so I had to question.

B

I know, but um but phrasing isn't my strong suit. Come on now. Well we know that.

C

Yeah.

B

Just you know what I meant. Uh how many clones until its soul dies? Really, like we're milking it for all we are worth here. Okay.

C

Still customers buying them.

B

Hey it's uh

A

You know?

D

The space is still growing.

B

Look, they have an MP3 player they're selling. Royabella M9, MP3, MP4.

C

I think Banner was that one.

B

I know that I know they mentioned I don't think we've talked about on the show and I haven't definitely have not looked at this before because Okay. All right.

iPod Nano Homebrew Apps

D

Speaking of speaking of MP three players real quick, did you guys see the um The new mod the new homebrew mod for the iPod Nano.

B

No.

D

It's called nano apps.

F

Mm-hmm.

D

You can run custom modified apps. Uh it's a really early day, so there's only Paint, Notes, Wave Player, and Homebrew Launcher.

C

Like Microsoft Paint?

D

I don't know. It's probably not much no, it's not.

B

Rob, get real.

D

I just saw that today. Like it just dropped. Like it it just it's recent.

B

You can get the RGB twenty S for fifty bucks. So that

D

Ray Bell also has like a few different codes. So the um the the b the abomination that they just announced. Um you can save ten bucks with Royabella oh five.

B

Yes.

D

And then they have Royabella 05, Royabella 01, Royabella 2, and then I think retro handhelds get you like five uh five percent off or something like that. If there's no other codes work.

B

Yeah, I gotta I gotta always remember that. That's right. Yeah, we have codes too.

C

Hey, I think Ban's done moving. He's in chat.

B

Oh Ben, are you gonna hop on? Come on, hop on the show. VR fourth. Um the X8 is on here and that's probably one of their more top-tier devices that they offer here. The the the super knob PSK 5000 was decent, K fifty six decent. That P thirty six, yeah, I don't know about that, but they have a lot of Pow Kitty handhelds in stock here. And uh some real c I mean some classics here. God they even have the RGB ten Max Three Pro.

C

Shem loves that one.

B

You can put Pickle OS on there. Alright, they got they got some classics here. You know, there's some there's a mixture of options. Decent decent pricing.

D

Yeah.

B

And they're even selling the X twenty eight. That's not even one I see'em see much anymore.

C

Yeah, that one was rough.

B

I wasn't a huge fan, but I know uh I know a few people who really love this handheld.

OneXPlayer X1 Pro & F1 Pro Issues

What else we got over here today?

C

chat saying for you to buy the folding arcade. I know Ben has the uh the one that doesn't fold.

B

Well...

A

We'll see.

B

Someone turned Pixel 8 into a retro console. Yeah, I looked at that. It it's just somebody who put a a Pixel 8 like inside a 3D printed shell, right? And then Hooked it up. So I mean it's a good use of a Pixel 8 if you're not gonna use it as a phone anymore. Uh the X1 Pro from 1X Player is uh refreshed with the HX470, starts at 1800. That's cool.

D

Uh they started selling uh refurbished.

B

Oh yeah.

C

Yeah.

D

If we're getting one terabyte uh for twenty two hundred the apex.

B

Right.

C

That's hilarious'cause didn't they announce it as a a r um a new product, but they're selling it as a refurb? Mm-hmm.

D

They announced it alongside their announcement for the X one refresh, the X One per refresh. Okay. I got the email last night or this morning. But the funny thing is you cannot buy 64 gig one terabyte config of the Apex. ご視聴ありがとうございました

B

You can only buy it refurbished and this is the same price as the forty eight gigabyte uh version new. So I mean basically you're getting some if it's in great condition, you know, then that's cool, but I I guess you're just getting extra RAM? For the price.

C

Yeah.

B

The same price as a new base unit.

D

I would I would do that.

B

Yeah, it seem it seems worth it. It's still wildly overpriced in general. Wildly expensive. But I'm glad I glad I'm glad that they're offering a refurbished though. That's good.

High-End Handheld Overkill

I'm looking at this F one Pro and the one I I picked up from Amazon here. This used one.

F

Yeah.

B

Man, it's got some problems. Like it won't take any operating system. So I just don't know about this. I know they get hot, but this one just overheats and shuts down and tried Bazite, tried Windows. So I want to try to find a it was like eleven hundred bucks, so I want to try to find a cheaper one of those. So maybe they'll offer some refurbs, some working refurbs for the F1 Pro,'cause it's pretty sweet otherwise. I like it more than the than the than the Apex and the Win5. Sorry.

D

I really wish I could afford to buy either of those from you. It's just in that in that Listing and it's just so damn tempting.

B

It's just staring you down. They are end game, but even you know, and like I was saying last week, they're just overkill for me. I don't think I don't know what to do with that much power in a handheld these days, really.

C

Yeah, I mean'cause all you're playing is Ardvark, so it's not really needed.

B

And the huge games that I am going to play, because I don't want the fans blasting at me and they're loud and crazy. So if I'm going to play a triple A, I'm going to stream it from my PC, GeForce Now, uh, somewhere where I don't have all the heat and chaos, you know, in my face. Whereas these little things they're they're crazy powerful but it's it's

C

From your April.

B

I could swing from A.

C

That has no fame.

B

True. You know what? That's actually an option. That is an option.

C

Just saying.

B

It's ridiculous, but I approve of it. That's good. Yeah, Referb One X Sugar, where at? That's right, Fred. No.

D

Oh they're they sold out like the three of them that they have.

B

They did have a few.

MSI Claw A8 Neon Green

C

Hmm. That means Dub's bought one.

B

No.

C

Sound means he's

D

Last year.

B

Yeah. I borrowed one from Russ.

C

Admit it though. Yeah, see if you didn't borrow one, you probably would have bought one.

B

I would have tried I would have eventually tried it. Eventually these things get me eventually. It's like I'm too c the curiosity wins out. I'm like, I gotta at least get hands on and see.

C

I think seeing it in prototype form at C S was was enough for me.

B

Yeah. Yeah, you knew. It's just it wasn't for you. I mean we looked at it for two years and it was it was looking like okay, maybe the final retail one was gonna be better, but it w in What else we got? Oh, the neon green. That's about to drop in two days. Look at this. So for$1,200.

C

'Cause it's cheaper than

B

It is. It's cheaper than the than the white version of the so this is the M SI Claw A eight, their green version, which is a Ryzen Z two extreme, twenty four gig, one terabyte, twelve hundred, it dropped. For Best Buy under the Best Buy Drops program. Limited release May 27th. So be on the lookout on your Best Buy app. If you're interested in having the A8 in green, I know Andrew, you're a fan of this one, minus the Ergo.

D

I just like the bigger screen.

C

It's not a good thing. Mm-hmm.

B

I like it.

D

I would like to I'll trade you mine for uh your Apex.

B

Easy. Done. All right.

F

Next.

D

Yeah, you said everybody heard it.

B

Don't put that.

C

I heard it. You just agree to it.

B

No.

F

Mm-hmm.

C

A verbal agreement that's been recorded.

B

What did w what was that?

D

Make fun of a bunch of other people.

B

No there's

D

Thanks Rob.

B

I need to not do the show live anymore, that's the problem. That's what gets me in trouble. If I had time to think out what I was gonna say with my brain, then uh we I wouldn't have these problems. Okay.

C

Sometimes Stubbs's brain and and lips are not connected.

B

They're not fully synced.

F

Yeah.

B

They're not fully aligned.

C

Happens to the best of us.

B

Oh well.

Blu-ray Drive Disc Ripping

Oh this was cool. I saw this too. I think We already dis no I don't think we discussed this yet. That you can rip your Wii GameCube and Xbox discs using a Blu ray drive.

D

Yeah, I need to get a Blu-ray drive to try this up.

B

It looks that looks badass.

D

There's a wiki that have that has all of the supported uh Blu ray drives. Like the different models. Because there are different models and then there are it's a Blu ray drives are like t like Kind of like TVs. Yeah. Where they all have stupid names. And you think it's one, but it's actually like 10 years old.

B

No no.

D

But yeah, there's, there's a, okay, I didn't even know there was, they got it on their go.

B

There's a GitHub here for it's called OmniDrive.

C

Yeah.

D

Yeah.

B

Fantastic.

D

I need to start that.

C

I have a Blu-ray drive somewhere lying around. I wonder if it's one of the compatible ones.

ASUS Zephyrus Duo & Monitor Setup

B

They're cooking on this.

C

I haven't plugged that thing in in years. That's weird.

D

Do it on the plane.

B

Yeah it's a long plane ride. I mean it's it's easily fourteen hours. So, yeah.

C

Fourteen hours for me, so

B

Yeah. Try to get some sleep if you can.

C

I'm going to, for sure.

B

That's that's the move.

C

That's the real hack right there.

B

Zephyrus Duo is available as well. That's cool. That's their

C

But look at that price.

B

Andrew, I'm gonna ask Anthony about this uh for you when we're over there. That's the pl that's the game plan'cause I know you wanted to check this out so maybe we can review this on the website.

C

Dude, you could buy a two thousand pound of civic for that.

D

In comparison with the the flow.

B

Right? Yeah, that'd be a good comparison. This one is not for me. I I just I usually don't do dual screens, uh either the Thorn stuff, but it's just my my attention, my focus gets split then.

D

Okay, so I've got a forty nine inch ultra wide.

B

Yeah, you can do that.

D

Twenty seven, a twenty-seven, and then a forty two.

B

I know. Damn.

C

I just have the one ultra and I

D

Much easy.

C

Split screen.

D

It's my TV that I only really turn on if there's sports on. So football season and occasionally baseball.

B

It is nice to have but for me if I'm gonna do split screen, I'd I just plug in like a little one of those little external monitors and I barely even use that.

D

Hold on, let me pull something out one second.

C

should get the um you know those attachments that you can get for laptops that add like the two screens on the side?

F

嗯哼

C

So you get that, then you have four screens. And then he should find a way to do one vertically and then you just make a wall of screens.

B

There's this guy on Instagram who has something called the wall of sound and and it's like he calls it the Church of Sound and he's always playing like like uh just just heavy classic rock music and he has like seventy speakers.

Computex New Handheld Speculation

C

So Andrew should have the equivalent of that, but with display.

B

And it's incredible. Like I watch all that guy's stuff. It it's just and he's so excited about it every time. And he's he's just drinking a beer and he's like, you know, this is this is the wall of sound, you know, and he just starts singing along to like motor breath or whatever and Yeah. It's great.

C

I heard that you might be uh streaming some of your pooping adventures on in uh Taiwan.

B

Do I have pooping adventures?

C

Well I I mean I just I think that might be successful for you because I I've seen this guy on on Instagram who does this and he's he does pretty well for himself. He'll

B

Excuse me?

C

Will he will take you to different bathrooms and he will rate them. He'll rate the bathrooms. And so I think that might be a good pivot for you.

B

Reviewing bathrooms. I'm s I don't even like using public restrooms. I'm one of those guys that uh I I will I

C

you're showing us.

B

To go at home if possible. I I I don't love it. That is nice. He monitors. But the I know the Asus rep last time was showing us the um

C

Mm-hmm.

B

Oh

C

Oh no, that's a that's a whole different story you're going to change.

B

Chopper they have those in Taiwan. They chop up it up as you go.

C

So then you can review that.

B

I don't want to. It scares me.

D

Get me off the screen.

B

No. ASUS Might reveal something. So we don't know we don't know why we're going to type it.

C

Actually don't.

B

For MSI or for AC.

C

Legitimately.

B

Rob's sponsored by MSI, I'm sponsored by Asus and we don't know why we're going, so we can only assume that they're announcing their next uh handheld, both of them. Uh but right now there's like strict, you know, NDAs, whatever. But they haven't even said that to us yet. They just said, hey, you wanna, you know, come out to this. So I'm guessing we're gonna find out something and they don't just want to spend money for no reason.

D

I think MSI is the because that leaked like a month or two ago. It's their Panther Lake handheld.

B

Their new Panther Lake.

C

The G three.

D

Yeah. Um, I don't know what Asus is. This is the f this leak from the last week. Yeah. It's the first time I heard Asus doing anything at Computex. Besides just showing off the room.

C

Really need to get a spray tan. I am very pale in comparison to that guy.

B

I guess this

D

No.

B

Well he's in Europe.

C

But I have more sun than he does.

B

Yeah, but we all stay in the house over here. That's you know, we're just vampires. This is Steam Dad on YouTube. Decent. Decent name.

D

You don't have it you literally don't have an excuse, Rob.

C

I know.

B

Yeah, you should be more tan than

C

I used to be very tan till this whole YouTube thing uh kept me indoors.

B

Problem.

F

Yeah.

B

Uh but the he told his viewers to keep an eye on Computex if you want to see a next gen handheld from Asus, so he must have rotted his rep enough to at least get something out of him.

C

Now the question is Is ASUS still sticking with AMD or is it gonna be jumping onto the Intel bandwagon?

B

Yeah.

D

I would bet money that I do not have that it is not ACUS is not announcing gonna be the the prime for a new for the next gen AMD chip.

F

Yeah.

D

It's not it's not happening this week or next week, whatever.

B

Yeah, we'll

C

Now the question is w well these even come out.

Computex Product Release Timeline

anytime soon.'Cause I remember we saw some stuff in CopyText a while back and it took it took months before we ever saw those products in actual retail stores, you know, so This is probably very early, early in terms of what we'll be seeing.

D

Do you think that they would actually announce next gen like AMD would announce their next iteration?

B

I think so.

C

So we yeah, I mean we kinda know what's coming from AMD but I mean in terms of like what it would be for a handheld, I mean it would be interesting to see what it will entail, you know. I'm curious.

B

They're flying a bunch of YouTubers out there and it's not for no reason. The let's think about this. The last time we were flown out to Computex is when they announced and then immediately released the um

C

That was for the Alli X.

B

The Ally X. It was the Ally X refresh. Uh which was cool at the time, you know.

C

Still a great handle. Still a great handle. You got one, you're doing pretty well for yourself.

B

Yeah, there was like a couple month lag time maybe. It was like maybe like a month before, you know, from announcement to then I

C

I remember we saw didn't we see MSIs was the um wasn't it the first gen Intel that we saw there? Mm-hmm. And we wouldn't get that in retail shelves until like till the end of the year or to like the next year, so And then there were some handhelds that didn't even come out. That never came out.

B

Right. Yeah.

C

Yeah, prototypes prototypes and they state prototypes too. So that will be fun to see like all the prototypes that don't come out in the future, you know.

B

Yeah, which is which is one th cool thing. Uh you c sometimes you see more interesting stuff at Computex versus going to CES here local. So Yeah. I mean last time it was There there wasn't a ton of stuff for our sector, but the stuff that we saw was d there's It was awesome. Like some of those MSI prototypes, you know, that we again we never did see. It was like one giveaway unit.

C

Handheld there.

D

Wanted that so bad.

B

I tried to I I think I got to touch that one, but then I couldn't touch the if

C

I was present for that, I probably would still be in a Taiwanese jail right now.

F

Yeah.

C

I mean, because Look, the way I would do it is I would get it and then I'd mail it off to Andrew'cause I know Andrew would at least take care of it. So I'd go get stuck in prison, but at least Andrew can then enjoy it. So it'll be a team.

D

I'll keep it safe till you get home. Not send it back to him.

F

Ha ha ha.

B

Yeah, it's true. I haven't seen the claw A eight. I have no idea where that where that went, but Okay, what else do we got got here we want to talk about? That's really like the main thing for the news this week. Uh let's look at

C

Not a whole lot happening, you know, for just it's just the state of tech this year, I think, you know, in general.

B

Where did Sony put?

Valve Steam Frame Rumors

D

You know what I could see? I could see s I could see Valve waiting till everybody starts making their announcements at Computex to steal all the head f headlines by dropping the mini p the Steam frame and uh

B

That would be nuts, and I wouldn't put it past him.

🎵 Music

Lenovo LOQ FIFA World Cup Laptop

B

There's the button. Rob You want to talk about the greens? Yeah, we've called up.

C

Great green machines here for you.

B

Let me pull up the uh

C

It wasn't just that MSI club. We got a few more green things happening here.

B

You know, let's...

C

What do we got? What do we got?

B

So there's this thing from Lenovo called.

C

Mr. Mr. PD over in the Discord for sharing this one. We got a FIFA World Cup limited edition, I guess, of the L O Q Lock, poppin' lock. Laptop here with an RTX up to a RTX fifty sixty.

B

We got this shit unlocked. Yeah, here we go. Look at this.

C

Do. Look at that. Look at how green that is. And even comes with a matching mouse that's green too.

B

But do you wanna pay let's see, what what are we looking at? Six dollars.

C

at $1,650.

B

Or what? Ryzen seven two fifty processor. What what is that processor?

C

Uh two fifty what it w

D

Oh that's the um

B

Продолжение следует...

C

What the heck is that? What uh what chip was that? I forget.

B

They cracked.

C

Cracking point, yeah.

B

What the hell is the cracking point?

C

Crack a lack.

D

Um it's a rebadged eighty eight forty eight.

C

Yeah, it's a reboot.

B

Okay.

C

Everything AMD's doing right now is just rebadge upon rebadge basically that you're seeing

D

Which gives you the uh Radion seven eighty M for the GPU side? Yeah.

C

Yeah. So this one doesn't even have a dedicated GPU, I don't think, and it starts at sixteen fifty.

B

It says right here, it comes with up to a RTX fifty sixty though.

C

Yeah, but let's let's see let's configure this.

B

It's discrete. So it's an actual

C

I I don't even know Microsoft.

B

configure it. We don't need okay, so Windows eleven home.

C

Yep. None. None. We don't want that productivity software. We're not productivity driven.

B

No, we're not productivity driven.

C

Do what we want. Okay, that's included.

B

Two hundred and twenty dollars to get thirty two gigs though.

C

No.

B

Get it. Uh solid state you wanna do the included five twelve or a hundred bucks extra for one terabyte, three hundred extra for two terabyte. Still included. I wanna keep called.

C

Look so it does it does come with a GPU. It has an RTX fifty fifty, which Anything crazy, I mean.

B

Well, but for n this is the one upgrade I would do. Ninety bucks you get a fifty sixty.

C

Yeah.

B

So what are we looking at then? We're looking at seventeen thirty four. Seventeen thirty five after.

C

Taxes, man.

B

Hey, I'm in Oregon. I don't worry about that.

C

I was just showing you this because I thought it was cool looking and it's green. I don't know if this is a good deal. It probably isn't given the state of things in today's world.

B

Well Lenovo is doubling up on their green.

C

Oh yeah. They're going all in on the FIFA World Cup uh branding and they've got a uh a G nine controller as well.

B

Yeah, no hold on. Pull this up here.

F

Yeah.

B

I'll figure this out.

Lenovo Legion G9 Green Controller

C

And this this is also pretty expensive for what it is. I don't know if we're gonna be seeing different sellers have this for a little bit less, but it's really cool.

B

It's a fifty percent upcharge almost at fe well, what is it? It's like forty dollars more than the regular G nine controller.

C

It comes with soccer thumbstick caps though, so

B

You do get soccer thumbstick caps. But I mean, if you're already into the G nine and Russ released a great video today, by the way, about the Y seven hundred with the G nine combo, if you want to learn, he wasn't a fan of the G nine. But uh he actually settled for the X five light, I think it was for him on that.

C

I know why. He's probably thinking the same thing I I thought with that.

B

It's

C

But you keep it as light as possible with that light.

B

It's true.

C

It's a very compelling option for someone who just wants to occasionally stream. You can pop it on and it's light.

B

No, but it's so comfortable with the G nine. I I understood his arguments for it. And yeah, it's the other problem with the G nine is it's really tough to do swiping from the top, from the left, anywhere.

C

That is one thing I complained about in the past with the G nine. Yeah, I I can't tell.

B

It's too recessed in the shell and so it's really tough to

C

Have no uh they could have gotten away with it if they just left a little bit of a plastic gap so that we can actually swipe your finger in and up. There are ways around it. Um you can do like the the on screen navigation and whatnot, but it's just yeah, I I was hoping they would have fixed it for the latest version, but they didn't. It's just basically the same thing.

B

What are they doing here? Looks like they're doing the same as the twenty twenty six G9 where it's gonna be clicky.

C

Oh man, can you imagine if I could get you to buy this and then steal your green buttons and put it on?

B

We'll see. We'll see. I am I am considering it, but uh a hundred forty bucks is a tough ask for the G9 controller for what it is. You know what I mean? It's just green. Like how much of a premium do you want to pay just to have something in green? I mean, I know we do it, I've done it, but will I do it again?

C

We are kinda crazy here.

B

We're known to be a little strange. It looks pretty sweet though. It looks pretty nice.

C

Yeah, so just kinda showing that these are out there in the world. If you really love green like ban, you probably want these on your radar.

B

We uh we got that in the dis in the description if you're interested. This will work with the let's look at the back of it. This will work I know with the new Eight gen five, the latest gen of the Y seven hundred. But with the cutout here, unfortunately. I don't know if it'll work with the eight elite.

C

Um I believe it does. But it does work with last year.

B

Yeah. But the cutout will definitely not work with the G three gen three version.

D

No, it's got a sh it's got a short square.

B

Yeah, short square and this is a longer. So I n I remember trying this for Russ before getting him in down this rabbit hole was you know, I was testing out for him what's compatible with what and yeah, we couldn't get the the Gen three to work with the latest. twenty twenty six model, which it looks like that that's what this is. So

You're gonna have to upgrade to the eight elite Y seven hundred or the little bit more expensive uh H Gen five, which is now called the Legion Tab two, Gen two or something. Gen two.

C

Gen three. What gen five? It's available worldwide now, so you can actually buy it off Lenovo's website directly.

Game Boy Advance as Switch Controller

B

Can

C

And I I haven't I still haven't checked. I meant to, but I keep saying that, but I wanna check to see if a global ROM has been uh dumped yet. Cause then I'm just gonna put that on the uh you know, on my Chinese unit that I have.

B

I'm sure it's happening at some point. Rob, I know you sent me something else. You sent me a let's see, a Twitter video for your

C

Yeah, I thought this was just kinda cool, just because someone did it and I thought it was hilarious.

B

So what's this? So Nintendo Switch Game Boy Advanced Link Cable

C

Yep, so someone took the linking aspect of the Game Boy Advance and used their link cable to connect it to their Switch and use it as a controller. But not only that, you can actually use your Game Boy Advance as a controller on any console. So It was just kind of a crazy project that someone did and it actually works. And I just thought, hey, that's kind of neat. So yeah, I just wanted to share that with everybody out there. Yeah. Yeah, that's fun. It's fun stuff.

B

Super fun stuff.

C

It's like why does it exist, you know? Hey, why not?

B

Also, uh let's see those you just had those two, right, Rob?

C

Yeah, yeah, you're we're good.

B

Good there. In that case,

C

It's time for entry.

B

Don't spoil it.

C

It's time for it.

B

Andrew, I wanted to push the button.

🎵 Music

Gekko Wii/GameCube Browser Emulator

B

Andrew's software time. Uh let's see. DukeX.

C

There it is.

B

Uh

D

You're talking about anyway, you're talking about

B

Gekko. We emulator.

D

Yeah, in the in apparently it works in the browser. I haven't been able to get it work in working yet. Um the whatever files I have don't aren't compatible. I gotta check the hash. And I'm not doing it right now.

B

That's fair. That's fair.

D

Yeah. But it's just a GameCube and we Emulator. Uh it's also standalone. I got it running on my PC right now.

F

Ooh.

D

Well, it takes no time to set up and should you download it.

B

It's cool that they're making this as an option.

D

Yeah, I mean it's it's been dolphin for forever. Dolphin and now like the dolphin cores in retro arc. So it's just cool to see. I'm interested to see if they're gonna try and do anything different.

C

Um the yeah, the funny thing is as much as I love what Dolphin affords us, uh there are definitely better emulators out there in terms of interface and compatibility. And so yeah, I I would love to see what someone else can do, you know. Yeah.

D

Yeah, and it's like just it's not like a one's gonna be it one better than the other. Correct. It's not a fight. It's just like oh this something the the you know, this might offer one thing that don't

C

Let's see what their approach is to to UI and things like that or what what can they bring to the table. And so I'm like, Yeah, I'm I'm all for it.

D

In its early days you can tell, like everything's real bare bones in terms of features, but it's still scraped. Um it takes a little bit to scan if you like load up your your libraries if you have a lot of games. but I got up and running within five minutes.

B

Nice. Well that's pretty easy. It's a clean UI too. And I like that there is an option besides dolphin.

C

I'm gonna mess around with this. I I'm I'm really curious about that.

D

It seems really lightweight too.

B

It's written in rust.

D

Uh believe so actually. Uh Wrong screen.

C

Maybe Russ knows about it.

B

But maybe Russ does know about Rust. I'm just wondering is like is Rust is that considered more of a a lightweight coding language? Is that closer to the to the machine?

C

Talking dirty, talking close to the metal.

F

Ha ha ha.

B

Anyways, it looks it looks cool.

C

Oh that's wild. GameCube and Wii running at the same time. Two instances. Yeah, that's cool.

D

Yes, it is it's I just missed it. It's in the about it's not a

C

It's just three now. Okay.

B

It isn't Rust.

D

How many other are you gonna do?

B

So that's very efficiently programmed. Say or they got a supercomputer here.

D

All right, well time to put this in

B

Look at this.

C

Okay, that's pretty wild.

B

They've gone nuts.

A

Three games at once.

D

Use the send one later on your phone on your Android, on your G nine or with your tablet.

C

I wish they called it a G six instead of a G.

D

I don't. I'm glad that they don't.

F

Well...

D

'Cause the LG G six, I heard those jokes for years. I'm good.

Battleship N64 Smash Bros Port

B

And and then Battleship was another one you were talking about, which is a Smash Brothers port for PC, Mac, and Linux.

D

For Super Smash Ros for N sixty four, the original.

B

Yeah.

D

It's compatible with the US and Japanese.

B

And they are cooking over here on all these ports lately.

D

But so this relies on Lib Ultra Ship, which is the same um rendering things as that the the Harbor Masters team uses. But it's not from Harbor Masters.

B

Oh.

D

Uh this person I just happened to see it on Twitter, I think.

B

Yeah. Android too. Here we go. Android Windows.

C

I love that nowadays Android's pretty much just default included in a lot of this stuff.

D

Yeah. Yeah, it is. Yeah.

C

Honestly, like Linux, Mac, like I mean, I love that. I love that we have support for so many different platforms and kudos to developers out there for doing all that, you know.

D

I got this running really within five minutes also on my PC.

C

That's awesome.

B

Sweet man. So check this out, everybody. Uh we got links for the I gotta add weekly in the description. But anyways, there's I'm gonna add all those links.

Afterplay Emulator Frontend Overview

Um, this is cool. And one other thing I wanted to highlight is this developer uh who makes this app called Afterplay. A couple developers here. And We have a feature coming up, uh, an interview with the dev and dev team tomorrow on our website that Jim Gray uh uh interviewed. So check this out. After play is a Emulator front end, you can load the ROMs in. It's all in the browser. And then you can subscribe to them to

D

There's a lot of that after play does. They've been out for a while. There's it supports more than 30 consoles right now. Uh if you sign up for premium, you get um I I'm gonna say the wrong thing. Uh like cross platform syncing.

B

Let me pull up like a video or something to show people.

D

Multiplayer is built in with voice and video. There are AI features, but there's a whole section in the interview about that. Like there's a very extensive Jim and Jim got Jim has some good questions and and we've got some really good responses from I think it's the two co the two co-founders.

B

Why is after play as important as foreplay? That's not the right video.

D

that's So there's integer scaling, there's shaders, ch you can customize your cores. Uh create smart playlists or custom playlists. Uh there are eighty different themes. I'm just waiting for the future

B

It's all browser based.

D

It's all in the browser. But there are but there are apps.

Afterplay Premium Features & Interview

Like the if you can d there's an app for iOS, Android, Mac OS, Windows, Linux, and the web. So like you if you have your have it downloaded on your PC. Um and yeah, I think if you have premium, you can continue playing your game from the browser while you're standing in this is from little Barring cherry picking it from the the interview. While you're standing in the grocery line, you can pull it up and start playing. That's a couple of things.

C

That's so cool.

B

Yeah. That is really cool. And and there's a there's a fee, right? So you can it's there's a free tier and then there also you can pay for There's a twenty dollar option. Um if you use our

D

It's twenty five dollars a year for premium. Uh but if you use our code is it just retrohandle?

B

You're just retro handheld.

D

That's down at $20 per year. Which gets you I just pul found it. It's unlimited save states, cheats database, 8x fast forward, rewind slow motion, shaders, media capture. Uh oh there are a lot of other features too that I'm not gonna read off. Like they have a whole table.

B

There's their their home page shows it pretty well here. Yeah. Library and save synced multiplayer built in. They just kind of take over all the hard stuff and the work for you. Uh they also sell games, like there's indie games that you can purchase and have in your library here. So they work with developers, thirty plus consoles. So yeah, you just you just add your own games from your own library. Shaders that there's achievements built in, fast forward touch controls, cheats.

D

And the cool thing about them out them they're working with developers in the way of um It's a ninety ten split in terms of what after play takes. So the after play takes only ten percent compared to thirty percent from like Google Play or Apple or Steam or whatever.

B

I guess we already have the article up. Uh.

D

About the s the the indie store.

B

Uh okay. Yeah, the right homebrew titles on here. Cool.

D

Yeah, but the uh so the the interview publishes tomorrow morning at nine AM on the site. Okay. Awesome. It is a long one. Uh but it's real once you read through it, it's really, really it's really good.

B

Yeah, Jim was saying he had an awesome time talking to those guys and uh he's like, you know, get prepared. Like this is legitimately one of the coolest developments, uh a really cool passion project. So

D

Yeah, and you can you can tell in the responses. It's not just like little It's not corporate.

B

It's nice well it uh it's nice to it's nice not to have to have you know a whole device like just playing it in your browser. It's cool to have that option. It doesn't tend tend to be for me, like it's not usually the way I'll I'll go, but I'm gonna play around with it. I know I I got an account set up now, so I'm gonna start messing with it.

C

The funny thing is, you know, we say that just like we said that about game streaming.

B

Yeah, and then now look what happened.

C

And a lot of people that is the only way they play their games. So you know.

B

Right? And then the whole industry will change, so

D

Yeah.

B

Keep your eyes on this one.

C

Also I'm wondering is there an audio version of the interview read by Andrew?

B

That'd be cool.

D

I'm not reading a four thousand word interview.

B

Also, we need more pictures from producer Sony who sent us this picture of Japan.

C

Yeah.

B

This is from his his hotel room, right? Wow, that's cool.

F

It's the cool picture.

B

So what was this Duke then? Duke X? This was another one that a that uh Rob had sent over.

D

man. Um,

B

For you sent over, yeah.

D

Yeah, I actually had to to Joe. He put it he dropped an intrello. I just didn't get to the news part of it, like writing up the news last week.

DukeX Xbox Emulator for iPhone

B

This is an Xbox emulator.

D

Mac. Nope. An iPhone.

B

For oh for iPhone, okay.

D

Yeah.

B

That's huge.

D

It is. I have the part of the reason why I was trying to avoid talking about this isn't because I don't want to highlight it. It's because I haven't tried it. Because when it comes to JIT emulation on iOS, I have not messed with it at all, even though I use an iPhone every day. I haven't set up all of the things that you need to do with when it comes to dealing with JIT on iOS.

B

It's a whole nother animal. It's interesting though. I think that's uh I think that's most of the news guys. Wow. Do you guys have anything else you wanted to cover?

Bubsy 4 The Cat vs. Bubsy 3D

A

No.

C

No, I think we actually got to everything we wanted to talk about.

B

Yeah, we don't have band today, but if I were to pick a game to talk about that I think band would want to talk about

C

Horizon.

B

No he talked about Horizon six.

C

We'll talk about it every week.

B

No, no, no. No. No, Rob. You know why? Why? Because Bubsy. That's why. Bubsy3D. I mean Bubsy 2.

C

It actually does look pretty cool.

B

So Bubsy three D was this awful game released on PlayStation that totally probably messed up the franchise for them. They they had some okay games in SNES and and you know other platforms, but Bubsy three D was just Not well received. I actually liked playing it on the on my demo disc on my PS1. I played over and over again. Uh and so now it's back and it's It's on pretty much every platform.

I saw it come out for Switch, PlayStation Xbox on Steam, GOG, Epic. You can get everywhere. I think it's about what twenty dollars. and you're a cat and you're platforming and people are saying like this is the best not only the best Bubsy game, but one of the best platformers made this year. So You know, it's got that Mario formula. It looks really good. And I actually did play it last night finally, uh and I can confirm it's a ton of fun.

C

So did you buy this for the library?

B

Van did. He bought it day one.

C

Of course he did. Amazing.

B

So I was like hell yeah man.

C

Playing Bubsy on the plane, maybe.

B

It's real it's really well done. It's a really well done platformer. You don't need to be a fan of Bubsy to uh enjoy this. It just looks so much better than the PlayStation one. Let me see if I can find the PlayStation One version. So let me see if I can find it. I'm sure. Oh man. Oh and the people actually made a long play. Oh that's that's that's something. Okay. Okay, so what'd that say? Bubsy. I gotta credit these YouTubers we're showing here. Uh, who is this? This is uh

This is video game dunk. Oh video game.

C

Donkey. Donkey, yeah.

B

There you go. So he said Bubsy three D is the single most reviled game of all time, and yet right in the cover art there's a gigantic golden award from PlayStation Extreme magazine.

C

Sure.

D

Sure.

F

Yeah.

B

Mm.

F

Mm.

B

So it I maybe they were like hyping it a bunch or the media was hyping it. Whatever the case, like the end product did not meet expectations at all. The camera controls are horrendous. Controls are bad in general. I mean

C

Surprisingly deep thoughtful gameplay.

F

Yeah.

B

Yeah, you have to wonder what Dave was thinking.

F

Yeah.

C

It's only th n three minutes, four minutes long. Oh, I'm gonna watch that. It's probably like the best four minutes you could watch.

B

Yeah, the tank controls are real rough. They he says brought the tank controls from Resident Evil One.

C

For a platformer.

B

It was just impossible to get around the levels. You know, you can never judge where a platform was. So I I I replayed the same demo over and over again. I to this day I don't think I've even beat the demo before. It's just it's a pain.

C

Some poor child out there, this was their first gaming experience and their last.

B

It was one of my first PS one gaming experiences. That is. I didn't think it was horrible, but I I mean I remember being annoyed by it, but I didn't think like, oh my god, this is the worst thing I've ever played. I was stoked to have a PlayStation. Like I was stoked that that I could try all these different games out on it. And it was colorful and it's fun, uh but a Bubsy forty.

C

What we call a bad trip.

B

Yeah, I mean compare it to this. So much smoother. Yeah. Completely unrelated games pretty much. Uh other thing

AMD Developer Mini PC & R-Type

Is uh what do we want? Game of the week as well. Let's see, we got game of the week. Oh, this thing. Do you guys want to talk about this? I guess AMDs making their own.

C

Right. But I was like eh.

B

Okay, well it's happening.

C

own first party mini PC, but it's really for developers. It's like five thousand dollars. It has the um you know the AI Max of course. So

B

Yeah.

C

Very expensive. But I thought it was just kinda neat. You know, maybe ten years from now I'll make a video about it when it's like ten bucks.

B

That's fair. Okay, and Game of the Week Art is R-Type, released in nineteen eighty seven from IRM. And shoot'em up. And R-Type is a classic. That's one I played as well, you know, side scrolling, shoot'em up, shmup. Beat it, get half a point. You got until Saturday at five PM Pacific. Good luck to you.

Zoo's Game of the Month Reviews

And also, it's now time for Zoo from Zoo Reviews, he who is going to uh Give his review for this month's game of the month. We got Castlevania Donisaro, Circle of the Moon, and Wario Land. Let's see if I can get this working. Let me know if audio doesn't work, Rob.

C

Пока.

E

Oh hi, I didn't see you come in. It's your old buddy Zoo and today is apparently the last Monday of the month. Uh totally skipped me. It's Memorial Day. I'm not at work. I don't really feel like doing a produced video, so we're doing one on the porch. I just got done weed whacking. and doing all sorts of other dad chores. But the games this month were mobile games, much as I was mobile in my backyard. We had Wario Land, which is Super Mario Land three for the Game Boy.

We had Castlevania uh Circle of the Moon and then Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows. Let's start off with Wario Land. It wasn't very good. Now the the future Wario Lands, Wario Land 2, 3, 4, I don't know how many there are now, they're all very good. But Wario Land 1 was just a very floaty uh Mario game, but it wasn't Mario because it was Wario and he had different hats.

That's a a theme Nintendo has returned to often with hats with Mario. Anyway, Wario Land, it was okay. At the time, even I even at the time, I feel like Super Mario Land 2 was better. I give it Six out of ten. And then we had Castlevania Circle of the Moon. A lot of people didn't like it. They said, oh, it's too floaty. It's it's you know it's hard. The hitboxes are messed up. It's it's not precise. I didn't mind it.

It is the culmination of, I think, the NES, Super Nintendo, the Genesis era of Castlevania, mixed with just a little bit of that RPG stuff. It's, I don't know if it's the first. Metroidvania'cause you know you had you'd uh uh S O T N for the PlayStation. I don't know. It's not bad. You explore Dracula's castle, you're uh uh the junior partner in uh a two man uh a team and uh things go haywire right from the get go and then you end up

spoil spoiler alert you end up having to fight Dracula. But the real evil of course is your fellow man. Also spoiler alert. I don't know. I give it Seven and a half out of ten. And then third, we had Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. This is a sequel to the one for the Game Boy Advance for it was Area of Sorrow. Dawn of Sorrow is on the DS. It uses the second screen. You have to draw glyphs. It's a pain in the ass. If you still want to try to sneak it in, I'd recommend

either turning on cheats on Melon DS and making the bottom part, you know, just you don't use it, or uh there's a patch where you don't use the glyphs at all. The glyphs, I think, take this from a ten out of ten game to maybe a nine out of ten game, eight point five out of ten game. They just that annoying. Otherwise the core gameplay loop is cool. You gain experience. You get different weapons. You can you can uh create weapons.

You can buy weapons, you can buy maps, you can buy magazines. I never figured out what the magazines did. But it's pretty cool. I gave it eight and a half, maybe a nine out of ten. I enjoyed it. I hope you are enjoying the podcast. I hope Stubbs and Ban and Rob and that jerk Andrew haven't said any slurs, and if they did, well

They've been drinking. It's a holiday. It's Memorial Day where we have to remember all the people who passed and gave their lives for our country. So let's do that for a moment.

Zoo Reviews Follow-Up

And I'll let you get back to it. I like a one take. I got people coming over. I gotta go uh pool the pork. So I'll see you guys later. Bye.

B

Bye, zoo. Goodbye, Zoo.

C

Thank you for your service.

B

Oh, thank you.

C

Never mind.

B

No.

F

Yeah.

B

Don't thank him for that. No. Must mustn't. Welcome. Hot take Warrior Land three better than Castlevania. Wrong. Well on the you know what someday some yeah I get

C

I like both games.

B

They're fine. That's what I'll say. They're fine. I like Donasauro. I'm stuck on Donasauro. I might push through. I might not push through. We'll see. But I think Zeus' takes are on point this month. I'll give him that. Wool Wool's

C

Breaking news for

B

Wolf. Oh geez, it's Monday. I'm an idiot. No, only Aya Neo says that.

C

No, no, INEO calls you. Yeah, okay. Okay, I just clarify.

B

Yeah, though it calls you. Yeah. They're the ones to call people idiots.

C

Yes, correct.

B

Don't say it about yourself. And Zoo just politely told everybody to get good. Dude, he's a monster. The man's a machine at getting through these games. I don't understand it.

C

I don't understand it either. I don't know how he does it.

B

He's more game. Yeah, he's min maxing his whole life. He's more game than man now.

C

His game was

D

He's a little boy.

B

I still feel the picture and text is AI generated. Ander doesn't mess with AI, man.

D

Uh that you if you're talking about the INEO.

B

Talking about the image.

D

Yeah, okay. The image itself was I don't know if they made it with A AI. It's translated though with Google Translate. If you don't believe me, take a screen cap of the one in A native language and put it into Google Translate and tell me what it says.

B

I'd love to know too.

D

I would not say idiot whatever and an image that as not as a joke.

C

Yeah, Zo I'm not Zoo, uh Andrew's a little more professional than that. You're like

B

Dunskap says, Can you guys focus on games like you did when we were youths? I can't.

C

That's why I love Force Horizon six,'cause I couldn't just like

B

ご視聴ありがとうございました

C

Drive off road. Oh cool mission. Do that. Then you know, I just I'm all over the place and it's great. I feel like I'm accomplishing things, you know.

B

Oh, protector. You weren't saying that we did AI that that I and EO did AI. Very well could be. Most likely. Most likely.

D

Only one game can capture my attention.

C

Sixty percent of the time, every time.

B

And that's call of duty. Latest whatever the latest call of duty is. Yeah. Castlevania Lords of Shadow with that's a that's a pretty solid option.

C

I love that's a game that by the way runs great, like on a lot of devices using like game native, game hub. Awesome game, really cool game.

B

Yeah. Cool three D Castlevania.

C

Yeah, that's a good one.

GameSir G7 Pro 8K Unboxing & Features

B

Well guys, let's uh let's unbox the uh unbox some stuff. Have you unboxed yours, Rob? Your on tablet?

C

Oh yeah. I actually have a full video coming out tomorrow morning.

B

Oh, stay tuned for Rob's channel. That's right, you were talking about synergy. You were synergizing. Synergi Synergies.

C

You'll come from this unboxing and watch Stubbs unbox it. Get organized.

B

What do you want to look at first? You want to look at let's look at the uh uh the control oh god, the controller real quick. And then we'll look at the tablet.'Cause we can use the controller on the tablet. Oh

C

Ooh, see, I like that. You're thinking ahead.

B

So this is fancy schmancy. Ninety dollar. Controller from GameServe. This is their new G seven Pro eight K. So we've looked at the I think the G seven Pro we've already looked at before, but this is the eight K version, meaning it has an eight thousand hertz polling rate. This is the Aim Labs version. There's also a really cool gold one.

A

Um but

C

I love that color. Is that actually a green with a gold?

B

like that? So yeah, it is and and we'll take a look here next the faceplate comes off. Clef was showing it on our cast on Thursday actually. He was showing it to us towards the end of the episode. Uh TMR sticks on here, grip vibration, clicky triggers. You got the GameServe Connect app. What else is fancy on here? Linear output. Ultra long lifespan. I would I would hope so. You got that matching dongle. That's cool. Let's just look at it.

So I I got this basically to see, you know, an eight thousand hertz polling rate. Does that actually move the needle and make it noticeable for latency when you're gaming? I was telling Kay and Clef that I don't know that I'll notice it myself. Um but I'm gonna They they say apparently it's it's easy to notice. That's very nice though. Aim Labs is just a cool project in general.

It's a great way to hone your your aiming skills for all your first person shooters. This is really cool though. Like look at that. Like the colorway. Everything's clicky. Do they have maybe a regular four way D pad that they include?

C

How how does that D pad feel? Because I'm like, I'm not crazy about the way it looks. I just you know, that's why I'm curious about it.

B

Yeah, no, and the buttons feel good. They're that again that That quiet clicky here. They're very quiet. But they are clicky. D-pad as well. Quiet clicky shoulders. You do have Trigger lock. Now there those are clicky two. Turns them into a micro switch. Very high end feeling. It also has a dock here that says aim labs.

C

Yeah, Kate was saying in chat that there should be some D pad options as well.

B

there's not only one but two other D-pad options. So look at that. This one which still keeps it kind of in that dish shape. And then just your standard So this probably just pops right off. Oh yeah. Oh. I like that. That feels good. And then this one.

🔇 Silence

C

Yeah.

B

It's like a halfway between.

C

Like just visually wise, like I would probably gravitate to that one. That's kinda like the in between. I still like having that that very defined, you know, the plus, but I also like the disc, so it's kinda like the best of both worlds.

B

And Ban will be delighted to know there is a matching dongle. Oh, he loves it. Yeah, you got dongle storage right yeah, right there in the base like we keep seeing lately from these Yeah. Oh oh you get a big long cable too and even that's color matched.

C

I love when when companies

B

It just keeps on coming.

C

Go with those little extra details, you know.

B

Oh, look at all these different joystick swap outs too. You got tall joysticks. Concave, convex, whatever your heart desires.

C

No one of each, why not?

B

Switch it up. Get some new face plates on there. This also has that um

GameSir's Industry Impact

What do they call this? It's like a way to keep the cord installed so it doesn't pop out, right? Oh that's cool. It has a little green LED there. Uh it also has an option to put on that phone controller pop up so you can hold your phone. Think that's what that is, right?

C

Yeah, that's a nice cable. It looks it's braided, right?

B

So you do this. Yeah. How in the hell does that work?

C

Yeah.

B

There we go.

C

All the comments.

B

That's kinda cool. A certain shade of green. I was just listening to Incubus on the drive uh back from the beach yesterday.

C

Nice.

B

So on Incubus kick this week, I listened to like probably three of their albums straight through. Not bad. Yeah, this controller feels good man. I like the I like the grip on it. It's all very matte texture feeling. You got nice you got a nice rubberized grip. It runs all the way across. Plastic here, rubber here.

C

They have a branded version too. Uh was it Ni Neo? NIO

B

Yes, they have some other options, so let me pull that up to you guys.

C

Yeah. It's kind of amazing how Gameser has become like one of the top players basically in the control space. I mean like they are one of the go to's now.

B

And they made they made the G9 controller too for Lenovo.

C

Yep. They actually I think make all of the uh co branded ones, yeah.

B

Yeah, which is cool. And so here's the Neo branded one which you can get now.

C

Yeah, that's a good idea.

B

Isn't that cool?

C

Red thumbsticks. Oh man.

B

Yeah.

D

I believe there's a third one too.

B

And the third one is gold.

D

Well then there's a fourth one.

B

Oh, there's a fourth one. Let's take a look at that one.

D

On uh just drop the link, it's from it's in pre-order. It's the Royal Two edition.

B

Oh what? Okay, let me take a look at this. Oh, that's sweet, man. Oh that sexy black galaxy.

D

I don't know what Royal Two is, but I agree that does look really nice.

B

That looks sweet.

D

Oh, it's a Gameser Global Brand Ambassador, four time Halo World champion.

C

When are we getting a cleft edition?

B

We do need a personal cliff.

D

A cliff and a mat.

B

That should be clever. They need that image with...

C

Right.

B

Yeah.

C

Where's Clef?

B

And Matt Davis, absolutely.

C

Gib Clef.

B

Where is Clef? Where Clef at?

C

Where my clever.

B

Please one just one clef.

C

Please give tiny gold. So yeah.

B

Ninety bucks for all four of the different versions. I personally like the aim labs best. I I think it looks pretty slick. But uh I mean the gold, the neo, the the royal all look like good options. Mega or Mag Rest T MR.

C

One of these for myself. I really, really like the way these look.

B

They're called MagRez TMR sticks Gen 2. It's the most anti-stick drift. There will be no drifting of your stick. Uh optical ABXY plus mechanical D pad is what they're calling it optical ABXY, six axis gyroscope, dual mode trigger stops, four remappable macro buttons, dual asymmetric rumble motors with instant start stop. And uh I'm guessing this is pretty well reviewed on Amazon. Four point five out of five, seventy seven percent five star rating, yeah. That makes sense.

It feels slick, I'll have to play with it.

ONN 8.1" Tablet Unboxing & Value

Next up. We got it. On we're getting get it on with it here. Turn it on. So we saw this video from ETA Prime Drop. And uh I can't remember somebody mentioned it to us actually, I think in one of our chats.

C

Yeah, so well at least for my channel on the Discord, someone mentioned it before the ETA Prime video and actually banned

B

Oh really? Okay.

C

Before that also dropped too. Yeah.

B

Oh really? Okay.

C

Been kind of talking about it, looking at it for a few weeks now, and I'm like, Yeah, finally kind of gave in. I was like, All you guys are buying it. I'm like, all right, why not?

B

Yeah, well I you know, I was on the Save State podcast guest uh guest on uh last Thursday and they were talking about it on there and that's right that's right. They were talking about the ETA Prime video and so I ended up watching that uh a little bit and So I I just saw the ninety hertz for refresh rate and that is what got me 138 bucks. 90 hertz refresh. You got an IPS display panel, uh eight point one inch tablet.

C

Stubbs, can you just go back to that image real quick? So I actually was on this website earlier today recording for my video and I thought that was aish for a second. I was like, Walmart modeling gig? I'm like you beautiful man, you

B

Well and them see the model and then he's holding the the brown version so I was like that just looks like the coolest version. It just looks the best in hand. And you got, you know, navy blue is cool. Uh pink as well as good and silver. Classic silver.

C

I almost pulled the trigger of the paint. It is kinda cool. You don't look We don't have a whole lot of pink tech, but you know, y you want to support it, right? Let let that let them have that option. You know, let let there be an option like that.

B

Oh, a hundred percent. But the other things that are cool about this uh is that it does have uh you do get six gigs of RAM, which for you know for the price point is not bad at all. 64 gig internal storage, 2.4 gigahertz octacor. So this has the oh God, what it's actually a Snapdragon.

C

Dragon. Yep. So

B

Android sixteen.

C

The only way you know it has a snapdragon is if you go like deep into the website specs. You keep going, keep going.

B

I couldn't find it.

C

So if you click on specifications, watch this, this is crazy. And then you click on

B

And then

C

And then it's finally there and even then it's like very cryptic. It's QCom SM uh S D M six eight five.

B

It's Snapdragon six eighty five, which is so close to uh well it's better than the eight sixty five, right? No no no sorry.

C

Shout out, shout out.

B

Six eighty five. I'm dyslexia kicking in here. Six eighty five.

C

Yeah.

B

Where is that?

C

Want to say that's like a little bit is it a little bit more powerful than like for at least our audience? I would say maybe like what, a Mang Me Air X? A little more power than we've got.

B

A little more than the Ming Mir X. So you're talking it can play PS two, plays GameCube. Yeah.

C

And and then the big thing here is that we get six gigs of RAM, which is which is nice, which is really nice. And really hilarious'cause it has more RAM than that laptop I looked at for more.

F

Yeah.

B

It's well it's for the price it seems to make sense. A thousand by fifteen twenty four native resolution, uh only I guess point seven eight pounds.

C

It's very light.

B

Lightweight.

C

Yeah. Three hundred fifty. The the display is really nice too. It it it's got a nice balance of features, you know. I mean

B

Where does it max out for for gaming, for like for emulation?

C

later lighter to mid range on GameCube.

B

Yeah.

C

Yeah. Uh it should handle pretty much most of PSP. Uh yeah, yeah. So that's kind of the ballpark right there. Yeah, I definitely I definitely push it pretty hard in my video, so I'm I'm I'm gonna have like all that uh in there so for those who are crazy like I am, they get to see a little bit more beyond that.

B

So stay tuned for Rob's video tomorrow. Stay tuned on his channel. We'll make sure to to advertise it out on the Twitter. But for the unboxing experience, let's take a look here. I was really excited for this for the ninety hertz refresh rate for specifically G Force Now streaming because they allow up to 120 Hertz on there. And so this potentially could be just a monster for that compare it with a decent telescopic controller. And you are off to the races.

C

Yep. And you have a lot of options because a lot of those controllers support this size, which is really nice. So you you can go for a very cheap one like the X five light or or go really expensive and high end.

B

I have never touched an on product in my life. Wow.

C

Really?

B

Yeah. So this is Walmart's brand, basically, right?

C

I actually had I think it was the twenty twenty four version that I actually sold to Ban, which also had the six eighty five, I believe. So okay. But it it was a it was a nice tablet. Like I was very impressed by the build quality and just just the features you were getting for the price.

B

You get a micro S D card slot, that's already a win. Which is

C

Which is critical for the right.

B

Oh, they're giving us real specs on this little thing here. Uh PPI two twenty six, they actually do list the refresh rate refresh rate there. They didn't list it anywhere on Walmart's site that I could see. Three hundred and fifty nits, peak brightness, high resolution streaming, three by two. Is that three by two aspect ratio? It is.

C

Yes. Yeah.

B

Yes. And the speakers they say are g are deep.

C

The speakers are really good. They're they're actually really nice. Yeah, they're they're they're really solid.

B

Ooh, you get a brown cable.

C

Brother. So I remember I was saying I appreciate those details when you were showing off that braided cable for the game serve controller. I was thinking of this tablet as well because I'm like they're cut they color match.

B

Yeah. Dude, this looks you know what this this is a dead ringer for a freaking iPad mini. That's what it reminds me of right out the gate. Like it's the same weight. It's it's very lightweight. Actually very premium feeling. So this on brand you said is is pretty good generally?

C

Yeah, they they they've always been a really good value brand. Um I liked their streaming sticks, you know, like their Android TV stuff. Um I've used their tablets in the past, like I thought they were always pretty solid values. I mean they they do some good stuff.

B

Alright.

C

And for those who are wondering, um, on is Walmart's tech brand. It's their their that's what they call their tech brand.

B

So an X five light from game search.

C

It should be a nice combination. It would keep it very lightweight.

B

Very good. And it fits that no problem. And I'm guessing it'll fit the G eight. Or I guess this is technically called the G seven from Lenovo. Yeah, it'll work there too. And and that's just really comfortable. I prefer that feeling. I can I can get behind the X uh the the X five light.

C

For me, the one.

B

Small.

C

negative thing, even though I love I think it's a great value and a great controller for what you get. Yeah. I wish it had, you know, an um dig not digital analog triggers. That's the one negative for that controller for me.

B

Yeah, that's fair. I mean it's fine. That's not a complaint for me on that controller. It's just Uh no real complaints on this control. I don't know why I don't use it very much.

C

They're uh how much they go for? Like twenty bucks? I mean

B

They're very cheap.

C

Right there you've got a combination that's about one fifty ish out the door. Like and there you go, you've got a streaming tablet, basically, a streaming device, you know. So if you didn't want to maybe buy like a Domingue uh you know Air Max or um like a portal, you just you just wanted something that was lightweight, that had a nice screen, that could do some streaming, this is a pretty cool option to take a look at.

B

One thing is I'm noticing here is that it the brightness is pretty low. Yeah.

C

So indoors you're fine, you're probably not gonna be using this a whole lot outdoors, unfortunately.

B

Oh, the screen quality though, I mean the viewing angles It's an it's a nice IPS display. I thought we'd be looking at a T F T display, like we like that uh Lenovo tab one we looked at the other day. This is much better. This is a huge upgrade over that tablet for$38 more dollars. Yeah, no, this is uh this feels good. The weight's nice.

Get some G Force now going on here, man. Ah, okay. I like the I like the weight a lot in it. With this X five uh uh light. Yeah, it really is not bad. You guys are turning me into the tablet collector.

A

Yeah.

B

Can't believe this.

C

option for a lot of people because again you can just use it as a tablet, you can use it for reading, web browsing, you know, all that stuff. And then you know turn it into a little handheld if you want.

B

Yeah, it'd be good for just honestly just like for Kindle or something too. Yeah.

C

Oh yeah, so there's actually a

B

Oh there's a reading mode on here? Yeah.

C

Yeah. Yeah.

B

Oh crap chromatic effect or grayscale effect or auto.

C

Yeah, it's pretty cool.

B

So like let's open a

C

And it's very peppy. I mean, I I'm sure you're noticing that, but it like it's very responsive. Things are opening up very quickly. Like you can move between windows. Like it's it's really pretty snappy, you know?

B

I just appreciate there's a Snapdragon chip in here. They didn't go for a media tech or like an Exynos or anything like that, you know?

C

The funny thing is the lowest performing Snapchat will still do better than a more powerful Dimensity.

B

It seems to be that way, yeah.

C

Uh d especially depending on what you're trying to do with it. It's just it's kind of crazy to me.

B

Rob, can we see yours? Do you cause you actually have yours like loaded up with stuff? Do you mind just showing? What it looks like with the game or something.

C

Yeah, I wish I had my overhead uh set up.

B

Oh it's okay.

C

But I actually was some of the the Android um ports that we got are pretty awesome. We got a lot of the indie stuff that's gotten imported to uh the Play Store. So here's gambananza that I got on here. Oh that's cool what Andrew did.

D

Oh yeah, that thing. Yeah, that came from my donor my three four X X SP.

B

So this is uh I was muted, I just realized. So this is Andrew's RG rotate mod.

C

That's really cool.

B

Cool. And this came from the three four XX SP and it's the same buttons. Cool.

D

I didn't either until I think somebody mentioned it in the Rotate channel weeks ago.

C

I love how that looks.

B

And then as well, missed this earlier, but you shared the link for the nano apps for iPod Nano 7th gen, which is awesome. I just gave my nano to uh Ban. He's been collecting iPods.

D

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye out for them.

C

Yeah.

D

I wanna get I wanna get pick one up. I wanna mess around with the nano app.

B

And Gam Bonanza Robin.

C

So a lot of these like lighter games will be pretty awesome on here. You know, like things like Bellatro, Gambananza. Vampire Survivors, Halls of Torment, like all those kind of games, like those indie games that got ported over to this to the Play Store will run really well on here actually, surprisingly. So yeah, it's pretty cool.

B

Alright, you got me you got me excited to to play with my awn.

C

It it's definitely it can handle a lot. Especially for the money. It's kind of impressive what it can do. You know, I mean it's definitely a good value in terms of just everything you can do.

B

Yeah, I mean I mean it seems like a keeper, you know.

C

I love the build quality. I mean, I think this is this is so nice. I mean it's all aluminum. I mean, really thin, really lightweight. I mean, yeah, you know.

D

Okay.

C

Yeah, it's hard it's hard to really beat that uh out there right now. You know, there's not much that's better than what this is offering in the space.

B

Dazzling Rainbow, I've been avoiding RG rotate reviews so I don't get spoilers before mine comes in the mail. That's fair. You know, we always tend to do that as YouTubers as well, try not to spoil our own opinions from other reviewers. Uh that's a smart way to go. You know what? Let you let your own judgment happen first.

Reviewer Ethics and Integrity

C

Yeah, I think that's like generally a rule for a lot of us. We typically don't watch anyone else's videos until after the fact.

B

Yeah, it's more I mean it's more fun that way too.

F

Mm-hmm.

B

It just is.

C

It's funny'cause sometimes like, you know, you'll watch someone else's videos like, Oh, you basically felt exactly the same way.

B

Monto.

C

I think one time I got accused of of reading from a script, like in terms of like what the company gave me, because I said something similar to someone else and it's like There's only so many ways you could say something about about how something looks or feels or you know, and it's just like it it cracks me up. But yeah, yeah. They do

B

They will send it.

C

Pretty much.

B

Review guidelines. They call them they call them review guidelines, but it's just like canned statements that they hope you say.

C

And I think what Arthur wants us to say about

D

It's not the same thing.

C

Oh, you're telling me I shouldn't call all my viewers idiots?

B

I'll do it.

D

Hello.

B

Do that. I'll just show that on screen and like here's what they want me. Look at these statements. There was one that was so bad. I can't remember what it was now, but they were just the most.

D

I got an idea.

B

What?

D

I'm not gonna say on the stream.

F

Oh yeah.

D

Black the black ball is a little bit.

B

Oh we're hour and thirty in, no one's watching.

D

I'm pretty sure those games are not games.

B

YouTube algorithm doesn't even watch us now. This far in You're in the same way.

D

Bye now.

F

Yeah.

B

I and Neo.

D

I'm pretty sure it was in my early days of like early ish days early days of being part of the like editorial team.

B

They sent over review guidelines.

C

Yeah, didn't they send didn't they send it to you stubs? Like they was this right?

B

Ace? Was that the ace?

C

Was it the ace or was it the micro?

B

Was it the micro?

C

I actually don't remember. Maybe it was both. Yeah.

D

No, it wasn't the micro hat, I think it was the ace, because they were real particular about the ace to begin with.

B

Yes, they were. But then they were like, Oh, it was a new employee who didn't understand.

D

Somebody under the business.

B

Known person under the bus that like they've been reprimanded or they've been fired, you know, how I can't believe

D

Yeah, but you

F

Ha ha ha.

C

He's running a tight ship over there.

B

I'm rotating right now, not gonna lie, says Monto. They sometimes they will s send ridiculous things they want you to read and it it's just no. It's so it's so bad. All right. Well guys I think we've been on on top of things with Sony's absence.

C

Yeah.

D

Do we have your email?

B

We've explored.

C

Please don't cancel us.

D

Stapstops hates us. Hates me.

F

Ha ha ha.

B

Love you guys.

D

It's been so full of shit.

B

Didn't Ambernick also give Stubbs talking po I don't I don't know

D

So here's the thing. A lot of companies give us st talking.

B

Yeah.

D

But there are a good there's there's differences in what when they want you to say something and then they want you to say something.

B

Right. Like I think two companies twice have said like we really want you to, you know, outline this in this way, say it in this way. And I just the rebellious part of me immediately is like Not only will I not say that in that way, I will probably show it on screen what you want me to say because fuck you, you know? Oh, that's one or two. Um I it drives me nuts when the companies Why?

C

And big or small though.

B

Yeah.

C

Yeah.

B

Yeah. Through the reviewer. Yeah. You know. But some review they they catch a decent amount of reviewers and get them, I think, to to say some stuff for them. Because it's like, oh great, it makes it I could see your reviewer being like, all right, great. That makes my job easier. Now I already have some things to say. Here we go. Blah, blah, blah.

D

I will not say who it was, but there was a review that had the same title.

A

Of

D

the press release like the guidelines that we were w that we were providing.

C

Suggested titles.

D

No, it was like the title of the guideline was the title of this person's review.

B

Oh yeah!

D

I'm not saying I'm not saying who it is, but it was that was bad.

B

Stubbs, doesn't your brother in law at Retroid give you a script? I love that. I love that there's that inside joke that's been going for five years now. No, Ambernag Ambernag has not been very pushy as far as that stuff goes, which is why they're a company we still work with uh in INEO not as much.

C

Usually Amber. Pick a color, I'll pick anything just shows up and yeah. That's about it really.

B

Like sometimes days after the live stream of the review is published, then our rep will come and be like, Hey, maybe uh Uh y m do you realize like this part, like the RAM is nice or whatever like some aspect of it. It's like dude stream y that was like last week.

C

It's like no.

F

Yeah.

B

Is sh su we we did mention that stuff and You know, and it's usually like when they want to polish uh something that's not doing well for them, uh, is when they want to then bug all the YouTubers, reviewers, and be like, hey You know, the sales aren't doing well.

D

That's pretty common.

B

That's very common. Well, at least do people know at least that it can do this? It's like, yeah, people know that. Yeah, like we covered that. It's still not a good deal. It's still a not a good handheld or whatever, you know. Ah good times. Yep,

C

That's fair.

B

Rach is paid by Ambernik to say only good things about their devices. We have never once said a bad word about any Ambernik device. We wouldn't, we shan't. Kind of appreciate the inside baseball and the company's influence tactics.

It's not as bad in in this niche, I've heard as like some other niches for sure. You know, like we have we definitely have more control uh over well all of it really. We don't have to say anything, we don't have to accept things for review, we don't have to do anything.

D

That that also goes that goes along with like the size of our Some they some of these companies they may not try and push like us around, but they will try and push smaller channels around. They'll try and bully them.

B

We and some channels that cave and some channels don't, you know? Yeah. Uh

D

And it sucks, but it's just honestly it's just the way that things the things the way that things are now. And they have been for'cause before I did RH prime, like a full time I was working for an Android website and it was the same thing.

B

Saint.

D

It's different space, just same but it's the same tactics.

F

Yeah.

B

It's interesting. You know what? They can say whatever they want. They can ask. They can they can request all the things. Anything to their heart's content. Uh doesn't mean we have to read it, listen to it, acknowledge it. Uh nothing. Okay. And just because RH is at its size that it's at now. Uh it it just it doesn't change a damn thing, you know. I remember when we were starting out even uh

We were yeah, from the get go. I don't think there's any instances. Stand your ground, other reviewers. Stand your ground. You don't have to you don't have to give in. Does it you know

F

Hmm.

D

That'd be so funny.

C

Unfortunately just imagined that scenario in my head.

B

Dunce Cap. I work for a small publication. People sometimes try to strong arm us too. Agreed, stick to your guns. Yeah, man. Well,'cause they see the YouTubers and reviewers as just outlets of their their advertising, their marketing tools. Like they send you a thing. And uh

C

Bigger like.

B

Like they're investing. That gives them the right. They feel like they have the right to then say stuff and it it it you know, and they and they really don't. Uh a reviewer you know, really should be just reviewing all their opinions and then providing to the company the value to the company really should be like, hey, here's the things that are wrong that you cav you have an opportunity to fix because it's early. We have this before other people. So you can fix these things.

And there's value in that. And then uh they fix it and do good or not and try better than on the next go around. Uh, I think there's just a lot of more value in getting the most pure, honest takes on anything for the brand. Um I think that's valuable to them. Maybe they don't always see that see it that way, but Okay. Well everybody, we're gonna go ahead and get out of here in a minute. We have a couple of pieces of viewer mail, I believe. So let's do that.

Long Flight Handheld Recommendations

🎵 Music

B

Oscar Iansane. Stubbs, Rob, Andrew, and Ban are by far my favorite RH panelists. I hope you guys hold out strong for the foreseeable future. Thanks, man. Yeah, I'd like it's a good it's a good uh crew here, I feel like.

C

Experiences. I think yeah, no, it's n it's a nice range we have here.

B

I like the range. And we kinda mix it up on Thursdays. You know, we'll have Clef on or Michael Benny or uh uh other guests on, you know, Team Retrogan those folks. Uh and yeah, and then Monday we got our classic crew. It's cool. Thanks for the feedback.

Well oh who's this guy? Producer Sony. Hi everybody. Question What device would you bring on a long fourteen hour flight with the airline, no onboard power bank usage? That's right. And the seat power plug's not working. Oh no. Well I know that he brought his F one Pro Uh but w he's gonna run out of battery pretty quick on that. That sucks, man. You know If I think about long battery life. Hmm.

I mean like a retroid pocket flip two comes to mind, mini H and two devices, uh Odin three, Thor, what do you guys think?

C

I'm gonna sleep at least twice.

B

I'm trying to do that. Well let me think let me let me think about this. What am I gonna actually bring? I don't bring a lot of handhelds on these trips. I bring like one or two.

C

The same.

B

Like may maybe three. And if I bring more it's to show the other my f YouTube friends, you know, YouTuber friends like, Hey, you haven't seen this handheld before? We kind of swap around, take a look at each other's things. Uh and it's it gets very crazy. Um I'm gonna bring something, I'm gonna bring a clamshell. I'm probably gonna bring the Thor. And maybe the brick? I'll probably bring like a little Linux pocketable one that I can just carry around the city.

So maybe maybe the brick, maybe a Mew Mew flip Mew Mini Flip. Yeah. What about you, Rob? What are you gonna bring?

C

Uh probably one that no one probably would expect me to say, but my Xbox ally, the the base one, because it's got you know, it's really good on low TDPs like the Steam Deck,'cause it's basically the Steam Deck's chip. But we got a little bit bigger battery, so I can just really crank down, play some light games and really really let that battery go for a little bit longer. But I really why I'm bringing it is because I want to be able to play Forza Horizon Six

B

Oh, you wanna put a local on the device, right? Right, right.

C

Yeah, because I won't be able to really do the streaming thing'cause I don't also don't know how good the internet's gonna be wherever I'm gonna be. So

B

Uh yeah, if we're at the same hotel as last time, the internet the internet there is pretty damn fast. It it worked pretty well.

C

I'm just I'm just hopelessly addicted to to Forza, so I I I just need my fix, you know. So I can device that we'll be we'll be able to run it but without you know using a ton of power as well.

B

Right. Yeah, if you're not gonna be able to use power bank. Or or the seat power is not working. You'll get you'll get a few hours out of that.

C

I mean four is a horizon six, maybe I'll I'll be lucky if I get two.

B

If you get maybe if you get two.

F

Ha ha.

C

If I really want to stretch battery life, yeah, you know, you run it down to the lowest T D P and just place something lightweight on there.

B

I wanted to bring the F1 Pro, but it's acting up. so badly that, you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna return it to Amazon. It's just I've been fighting with it for like two days straight'cause I wanted to bring it on the trip. I thought it was a perfect option for a higher end thing. I could play things like Bubsy and then Forza, sure.

A

Uh

B

I can't get anything to work on it. It's just this is a bad unit. No matter what. It just boots for ten seconds and then it says like it's overheated or some other r random error and ugh. Steam Deck though.

C

The question is are we allowed to bring power banks on our flight to Taiwan? Because I'cause Sony said uh I know for Japan they don't allow it, so is it the same rule for Taiwan as well?

B

I would assume I would assume it's the same.

C

I'm gonna have to double check that because I usually bring I usually bring one.

B

I bring a small one usually.

C

Yeah.

B

Let me think, did I use one last time? I think I did bring a small one last time. I don't know that you're supposed to. Let's look it up. I don't know. Who knows?

C

I like that option. Someone uh Rafter said uh DS Lite, right? The battery

Podcast Wrap-Up & Final Thoughts

B

Yeah, DS light and my DS DSIXL, the battery's clear.

C

Shield. That thing will never die.

B

Yeah. And the biggest battery you can bring on a plane is a ninety-nine watt hour battery. So You can't bring an Ione coon. You can't bring that, but you can't bring an INEO neck.

C

Nobody's bringing a next two'cause no one has one.

B

No one has one. So that's one that you're not bringing.

F

Yeah.

B

Yeah, Mr Moosey. Yep, F one Pro. Mm. Yeah. That was a bummer. Oh yeah. Take the Apex or the GPD one five with the swappable backpack battery. I mean, there is that. There is

C

That's true. That is true.

B

do that.

C

Those batteries are heavy though, I'll tell you.

B

I do hesitate on that one. Uh the yeah, the brick SP is basically a three four XX SP.

C

Yeah.

B

Sure. True. True. Yeah, I think the Thor though in general I think the Thor is gonna

C

A lot I like dazzling rainbow's suggestion.

F

Yeah.

B

What is it?

C

Bring another hand hell with a large. You're to charge your other hand.

B

Charge the other handheld.

C

Ultimate hack. I love that. That's brilliant.

B

Conquer Pocket Fit's a good idea.

C

Yep. Ky Kyle's got it to a fully charged laptop, which can also be used as a battery. Yep. Plug it into that USB port. Yep.

B

Pocket Evo is not a bad choice either. Oh no.

C

I love that.

B

Great question. Thanks, Sony. Andrew, did you have an answer?

D

Nah, I'm not gone.

B

I know that, but if you were

D

I don't know. Linux Linux handheld and

B

Yeah, that's a good move. And Rad says they're gonna 476H. Not a bad choice.

C

Thanks for having me. If you're doing lightweight stuff on those type of devices, I mean you you will get fifteen to twenty hours on on there, you know? So yeah, no, the the all those devices are pretty solid.

B

Yeah, or Pocket DS and Gentlestone, it's a good point here. Two screens is more battery drain battery drain yes. I just so I usually have the second screen turned off like ninety percent of the time on both of those devices. Uh but for the ten percent that I do need to use it, it's really nice to have it there. But honestly, man, I th I think just the retroid pocket flipped too all all around. Perfect for trips like this.

Good question. Jay Z Wiz RGDS should just ship stock with the Linux build at this point. It went from a meme to a pretty all right device, cheap enough that you can bring it anywhere, hand it to a kid. I have a Thor, my first emulation device, but I'm tempted to grab one.

Uh just to try it and have it as a device at work. Yeah, bet if memory wasn't such an issue, it'd be even cheaper. Really hope the Steam frame doesn't cost a fortune, but I know it will. I wanna try VR for once and don't want any meta garbage that needs a Facebook login. Yeah, you don't- You don't have to worry about any Facebook garbage on a valve. Or it's steam product. So

C

And the R G D S, yeah, I agree with that too, in terms of just like if you just want Nintendo D S emulation, it i it's solid for that. Yeah. I mean it works, you know.

B

Yeah, you're gonna lose out on like retro achievements, but if that doesn't matter to you, it then I mean really there's no downside there. It just it does its job well these days and lets you play those games. Play some DS games. You can even use it as a second screen if you want. You can load up apps with the Android version if you wanted. I w I would use a Thor instead. I'd probably go for like even a Thor Light, but

Uh if you're gonna go with Linux, then yeah, it's it just plays your DS games. There you go. Can play other games too. Good question.

C

Yeah.

B

Cal nine seven eight four, the RG forty three H reminds me of the abandoned Magic X N sixty four handheld, similar design language, and I'm pretty sure that's the exact panel they were gonna use. Maybe it's something they bought off them. Maybe it it it is a jettisoned idea and so they really

C

I really wish they still went forward with it, but I I I understand. I understand that, you know, they're they're trying to reach a wider market.

B

Well I hope that the two dreams still happens.

C

I hope magic X. still happens period. Yes. You know, I I worry about that company. I I don't know. Yeah.

B

Yeah, I hope they I hope they pull through. I'd want them to survive over uh Over what's the other A AL AL PC. I think Magic X makes some truly innovative things.

C

And the quality's there too, that you can tell they care and you know there's definitely d definitely some love being put into

B

Yeah that R G forty three H is rough. I mailed it to Zoo by the way. I mailed the one with the pink button. So he is working on that right now.

C

Yeah.

B

Or soon. So uh we'll Well to stay tuned for that. Good question. Michael Benny, question for Andrew Why are you the way you are? And what is your favorite butt rock band?

D

Because of people like you.

F

No.

C

What an answer.

B

It's perfect. Zero hesitation. Andrew, what's your favorite butt rock band?

C

Nice.

B

Zoo's a zoo approved.

D

I didn't realize Zoo was a Zoo was such a Creed fan until he finally went to the concert. I don't even know if he knows that I'm a Creed fan. He might now. He's probably sleeping.

B

I didn't know you I thought Zoo was our Creed fan in the friend group.

D

Oh yeah, no. There's I I keep things quiet.

C

We can't all be friends and we all we all have to like creed basically.

B

I was listening to uh what was it, One Last Breath the other day and I was like, What a bridge on that song. You know what?

D

Epic. Album is still like a banger to go back to. It's not a butt rock.

B

What?

D

Hybrid theory.

B

Hell yeah, brother.

D

Sure, yeah, like.

C

Yeah.

D

Top five albums for me'cause it's just so good from it's one of the few that I can actually listen from beginning to end.

B

Beginning to end.

D

Shipping around.

B

Yes.

C

We recently had a a a big revisit until Lincoln Park just just listened to all the albums and

D

they're so good man

C

Oh yeah. Yeah. Lincoln Park is great. Yeah. I'm like to me it never gets old. The music is so good.

B

Yeah, uh I've been in that kick lately, like the early 2000s kick, and also like some grunge, some late-stage grunge stuff. And yeah, there's just some absolute awesome choices there. Lincoln Park. An Olympiscuit.

F

Crap.

B

Creed for sure. Pumpkins though? Come on.

D

감사합니다.

B

Smashing pumpkin.

D

Oh okay. I I'm making sure I didn't didn't know you you were gonna throw a curveball at me.

B

No, there was uh there was another and in an Incubus, and Incubus is a big one for me right now. Man, they go hard. Some of those albums, man, they just The guitar the way the guitar and the bass locks up, uh it's just the distortion is perfect and it just hits you and then Brandon Boy's got his thing going on. They got a DJ for some reason, they got a guy playing bongos. You know, they got the drums coming in clutch. Just good music. No bush. You know, bush is fair.

D

Plus just goes and come on.

B

Yeah. Bush is a fair that's a fair reference.

D

Recommendation. Mm-hmm.

B

Yeah, new metal. I guess they did call it New Metal. Lincoln Park dropped off hard after Michael Bay got a hold of it.

A

Ha ha ha.

F

Yeah.

B

Lincoln Park is literally the sound of my people meme. Queen of the Stone Age, yes.

C

Yes. Oh wow. I haven't even thought of them for a while.

D

So good.

C

Man, what game had had a track from them? Oh man, was it a Need for Speed that had a Queens of Stone Age uh song? I'm trying to remember.

D

I think there was a few games that had Queens.

B

Oh man. Some of my favorite some of my favorite music I discovered was from burnout soundtracks. They were like tony.

C

If you go back, it's like the soundtrack of our time.

B

It is, yeah, it really is. Like I just

C

Capsule.

B

I just like listening to those playlists, you know. I'll I'll get a playlist going of a game sound.

C

Go on Spotify. They someone actually has like

B

Build those. Yeah, it's amazing. Like Burnout Revenge. Like that just reminds me of working at Game Crazy and my shift. I'd play that D V D in there and the PS two behind the register and I just

C

That was probably one of the best things that happened with uh EA taking over burnout, like getting you know, doing the publishing, was that they actually got some money. They could do do music there.

B

Absolutely, yeah. Someone mentioned Breaking Benjamin Chevelle.

C

This is the worst worst music conversation I've heard of.

B
