Welcome to Knocknahay, a small village on a stoat-infested lake, somewhere in Ireland, that is home to the Kathleen O'Mara Residential Centre for the Arts.

The pair rattle the other residents: MARY (a diligent Irish poet), AGNÉS (an aristocratic French sculptor ), GUNTER (a steadfast, German soundscape artist), DAMIEN (an Irish radio celebrity turned auteur) and the staff: BARNEY (the bumbling English director) NORA (the chef), TERESA (the kitchen maid) and the new kitchen temp.

As the artist-residents and staff prepare for a group exhibition to inaugurate the controversial Megacorp Exhibition Hall forced onto them by a would-be heiress, her groundskeeper grunt. But a mysterious, celebrity Russian dissident artist and an army of stoats have other plans.
