Licensed therapist, content creator and speaker, Summer Forlenza, who is a survivor of PTSD herself, teaches us three crucial steps to healing from trauma and living a joyful, whole and connected life. 

We discuss how trauma neurobiologically changes the brain and body, how dissociation is a common survival strategy but one we need to move through for true healing, how to cultivate safety in the body, some common myths & misconceptions associated with trauma and signs of progress, which can often feel hard to identify!

Summer also shares her own starting over story with chronic illness, what true ‘self-care’ actually is (beyond what brands & marketeers try to tell you it is in order to sell their products)  and the Leonard Cohen poem which she has had on her wall for years.
