Lisa Jernigan’s calling as a peacemaker has led her into borderlands, conflict zones, refugee camps, and sacred spaces of reconciliation.

She is the founder and president of Amplify Peace, a global movement that promotes the principles of peacemaking through the teachings of Jesus to create change in our world.

What does that look like? It’s a movement that educates, immerses, trains, and launches peacemakers to build united communities. She believes that peace and transformation begin within each of us individually and then flows outwardly to our families, communities and world.

They create “immersive encounters,” trips designed to help people understand others with different histories than themselves. From Native American Honoring Journeys to learn about our tribal neighbors, to An American Pilgrimage about American slavery and civil rights, and international trips to South Africa and the Holy Land. They also offer training courses for peacemakers for adults and students, and monthly prayer groups.

Founded by women, Amplify Peace is creating a better story together by amplifying the voices of women, along with those who have been silenced and marginalized.
