Episode description

Open the door and the warm aroma of coffee welcomes you. There are couples in animated conversation; friends playing games; and small groups in deep discussion. There may be musicians tucked in the corner. It feels like home.

That was the goal for Amie Pierone, founding director of the Eden Tea and Coffee House on the edge of the Arizona State University campus. With a degree in mathematics and an MBA, she entered the corporate world where she excelled. Then she was compelled to create a coffeehouse as an outreach opportunity for students and the surrounding community. It was her calling.

Eden is located in a historic craftsman home, complete with creaky floors and a forest of plants flourishing in the sunlit room. The Hiebert House, built in 1914, is part of the Campus Christian Center (C3) welcoming and loving all who pass through the doors, regardless of their faith, background, or experiences. Here they find peace.

Here they find home.
