For 13 years, Tim Hardin battled a number of health problems, including heroin addiction and psychological trauma. He struggled to maintain his musical career after the initial humble success of his first two albums during the mid 60s. His live performances were often erratic due to the combination of drug use and stage fright. In December of 1980, he passed away at the age of 39 of an overdose.
