Why Pentecost Matters in the End Times

Hey , welcome to Renewed Mindsets , the podcast that refuses to stay lukewarm . We don't sugarcoat the truth and we don't play church here . We take Romans 12 too seriously . Do not conform to the patterns of this world , but be transformed by the renewing of your mind . I'm Rick and I'm so glad you're here . I'm recording this on Pentecost Sunday .

Some of you are familiar with it , some are not . Well , let me tell you , this episode isn't just another message . This is a wake-up call , because we're not just celebrating Pentecost as some moment in church history , because we're not just celebrating Pentecost as some moment in church history .

We're crying out for the fire of Pentecost to fall again , right here , right now , in these final hours of the last days . Let's get into it .

So track with me here . Let's go back to the upper room from the book of Acts , chapter 2 . The disciples had seen the risen Jesus . They touched his scars , they watched him ascend into heaven . But before leaving , he gave them one final instruction Do not leave Jerusalem , but wait for the gift my Father promised . That's from Acts , chapter 1 , verse 4 .

Now they obeyed and they waited and after ten days of prayer and worship and expectancy , it happened . Suddenly , there was a sound from heaven like a roaring of a mighty windstorm Acts 2.2 . This wasn't a breeze , this was heaven , tearing right through the earth's atmosphere .

God didn't whisper , he roared , and what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them , each of them , not just Peter , not just the super spiritual , but every believer in that room was touched and everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit . The church wasn't born through a sermon or a strategy . It was born of fire .

And from that moment everything changed . Peter , who once denied Jesus , stood up and preached with fire . Thousands repented . The gospel went viral . Miracles , boldness , persecution , endurance it all exploded from that single-spirit encounter . Pentecost was not the end of their story , it was the beginning of ours .

So you might be asking what does this matter now ? Why not just treat Pentecost like we do Resurrection Sunday or Christmas Another calendar date with a nice sermon and a dove on the screen . Well , because we're living in the days that mirror Acts 2 more than ever . Look around . We've got church buildings but no power . We've got worship teams but no repentance .

We've got influencers but no intercessors . People are tired of religion . They're dying for something real . And guess what ? So is God . He's not looking for another crowd , he's looking for a remnant , people who will hunger for his presence again , people who don't want stage lights , they want lightning from heaven .

The same spirit that filled the early church is still available , but most churches today are trying to function without Him , without the Spirit . We have programs but no power . We have sermons but no supernatural . We have growth but no glory . And yet the Bible says it's not by might nor by power , but by my spirit , says the Lord . That's Zechariah 4.6 .

You want transformation in your life , you want to walk through these end times with courage ? Then you need Pentecost . Not the event , but the encounter

. So this is the new , renewed mindset . So let's talk end times , because the moment Peter stood up at Pentecost and quoted Joel 2 , he wasn't a metaphor , that was a prophetic timestamp . Pentecost wasn't a launch . It was a signal the last days had begun , and now we're living in the last of the last days .

We're seeing prophecy unfold faster than we can keep up with it . We're seeing prophecy unfold faster than we can keep up with it Wars , rumors of wars , deception in the church , lovers of self , lovers of money , haters of truth , a culture that calls good evil and evil good People . You don't need a better plan , you need power .

You don't need another podcast , you need the presence of God . In these times , the only way to stand is to be filled , and not just once , but continually . You can't fight end-time spirits with a lukewarm spirit . You can't battle deception with dry religion .

You need the Holy Spirit active , alive and leading every part of your life , or else you're just dry bones . The Pentecost outpouring wasn't just for back then . It was for right now

and now . Here's where I got to get honest . I don't know if that's a good way to say it , because I'm always honest on here , but here's where I've got to get real . Today we talk about Pentecost , but we've lost our hunger for what it really means . We've reduced Pentecost to a service with a few flag wavers , maybe a tongue or two .

And then a potluck dinner afterwards , but where's the power ? And then a potluck dinner afterwards , but where's the power ? Where are the men and women so filled with the Spirit that they can't help but speak ? Where are the churches where demons flee and hearts are broken in repentance ?

Where are the altars that are soaked with tears Instead , we've traded Pentecost for fog machines . We've replaced the upper room hunger for comfy pews . We've invited emotion , but we've neglected unction . The early church didn't need marketing . They had the fire of God and the world took notice . These men are not drunk , as you suppose . Acts 2.15 .

That was the world's reaction at that time , because they had no category for that level of passion and power . We've got churches now where , if someone shouted amen , people would look around confused . We've got believers who've never been taught to pray in the Spirit , much less walk in the Spirit . This is the modern Pentecost problem .

We've remembered it , but we've stopped reproducing it . It's time to return to the upper room , time to tear down our comfort and cry out for conviction .

It's time to stop playing it safe and start walking in fire . And in truth , so what now ? What do we do with this ? Well , here's what , first and foremost , we need to repent . Before the fire ever fell on mount carmel , elijah rebuilt the altar . Before the spirit fell in acts , the disciples were united in prayer and surrender .

If you want fresh fire , clean the altar , repent of hidden sin , repent of pride , repent of complacency . God does not pour His Spirit into a divided heart . If you're chasing the world Monday through Saturday , don't expect Pentecost power on Sunday . What else Ask ? To be filled daily ? The Bible doesn't say get filled once .

It says be filled with the Spirit , ephesians 5.18 . The Greek word of that is ongoing be being filled . That means every morning you wake up and say Holy Spirit , I need you Fill me again , guide me , convict me , speak through me , change me . What else does it mean ? It means we need to live boldly .

The evidence of Pentecost isn't just speaking in tongues , it's living with power . Are you sharing your faith ? Are you standing for truth even when it's not popular ? Are you walking in authority over temptation ? We don't need more quiet Christians . We need people so filled with the Spirit that fear can't hold them back . We need you to expect the fire .

Stop settling , stop explaining away the supernatural . Start praying for the fire to fall on your family , on your church , on your community . God wants to pour out more than you've ever seen , but he's looking for vessels that are ready .

Okay , we're at that point where I say , if you're still with me , then this section is for you . They heard the wind , they saw the flames , they spoke with fire . Pentecost wasn't the finish line , it was the ignition point . But here's the truth that too few are preaching in these last days .

You were never meant to just admire the fire , you were meant to carry it . Many believers want the Pentecostal experience without the Pentecostal responsibility . We want tongues without testimony . We want shouting without sacrifice . We want shouting without sacrifice , dancing without dying To self , that is .

But the early church didn't get filled with the Holy Ghost so they could feel better about their quiet time . They got filled so they could live , boldly , suffer and even die for the gospel . And in the end times . These days , we're called to nothing less . If your Pentecost stays in the upper room , you've missed the point .

The Spirit came with a mission to empower witnesses , not just create worshipers . Worship is vital , but witness is the outflow . We're not called to hoard the flame , but we're called to spread it like wildfire . Truth in a world growing colder by the hour . The world isn't just rejecting truth anymore .

It's offended by it , and that's exactly why the same spirit who fell at Pentecost is still falling today to give us the boldness to speak when silence feels safer . Pentecost in the end times isn't just about speaking in tongues , though . It's about living holy in an unholy generation . It's about speaking truth when it costs you your comfort .

It's about being loyal to God when betrayal surrounds you . It's about staying filled when the world is draining your spirit dry . The church has to stop . The church has to stop . No , the church must stop chasing emotional highs and start building spiritual altars . The Holy Spirit is not a guest . He is the God who fills , guides , convicts and commissions .

So the real question here is are you still burning ? So the real question here is are you still burning , or did the fire fall once , only to fade into the winds of compromise ? If you've grown lukewarm , it's time to return , not to a moment , but to a mindset , a renewed mindset , one that says I'm not ashamed , I'm not afraid and I will not be silent .

Listen to me If there was ever a time for the church to be fully alive , it's now . The world is getting darker , but the darker the night , the brighter the flame . Let the fire fall again . Let it burn away our fear , our comfort , our distractions .

Let it burn until every part of us is surrendered and sold out , because in these end times you don't need another motivational message , you need Pentecostal fire . So cry out to the Lord . Don't settle for lukewarm , don't play it safe . Ask the Spirit of God to fill you again and let your life burn bright until Jesus returns .
