Lukewarm Faith in The End Times

Hey , I'm Rick and I'm so glad you're here . Let's cut through the noise . Today . This is not about attendance . It's not about denominations . It's not about how well you sing or how many verses you've got memorized . This is about fire . Are you on fire for God or are you just surviving on a flicker ? Because Jesus didn't warn sinners in Revelation 3 .

He warned the church . He warned the ones who thought they were fine . And today , if you feel like your faith has gotten stale , if you're just going through the motions , if your love for God has cooled off and your lifestyle blends in more than it stands out , then this episode was written for you .

This is Renewed Mindsets and this message might just save your soul .

So let me start off with some scripture today . This is kind of a foundation of this whole episode . First we got Revelation 3 , 15 , and 16 . I know all the things you do , that you are neither hot nor cold . I wish that you were one or the other , but since you are like lukewarm water neither hot nor cold I will spit you out of my mouth .

The next is from Matthew 15 , 8 and 9 . There you go . So what exactly is a lukewarm Christian ?

Well , it's somebody whose heart has settled into comfort . They believe in God , but their belief doesn't transform them . They pray when it's convenient , they read scripture when they need something . They call Jesus Savior , but not Lord . Lukewarm believers are caught in the dangerous middle ground between hot obedience and cold rebellion .

They have enough religion to feel secure , but not enough fire to be surrendered . They're spiritually neutral , and neutrality has never been the posture of a true disciple . In Revelation 3 , jesus said he'd rather somebody be cold than lukewarm . That should stop us in our tracks . Cold is disconnected , it's distant , unaware , but lukewarm is deceived .

Lukewarm says I'm fine , I have all I need . God is good , but so am I . Jesus sees that and he says you don't even realize that you're wretched , poor , blind and naked . Lukewarmness is not passive . It's offensive to God because it takes the blood of Jesus and treats it like an accessory . It claims grace but it resists all change .

Lukewarm Christianity is deceptive because it looks spiritual on the outside , but underneath it's weak , it's compromised and it's self-serving . It thrives on people who appear to follow Jesus but live with divided hearts , but underneath it's weak , it's compromised and it's self-serving . Now here's how it shows up . Those people they prioritize God when it's convenient , but not when it conflicts with their comfort . Like they pray at meals and they post scripture on social media , but they skip church when they're tired or bored or have something better to do . Those people also avoid major sins , but they justify their private compromises .

I mean , they're not going to steal or murder , but they're going to binge watch some filth on TV . They're going to flirt with sin . They're going to gossip in the name of prayer and call it just being real . Yeah , you know people like that Might be you . Those people believe in forgiveness , but they rarely , rarely walk in repentance .

They say things like nobody's perfect as a cover for repeating the same sin , without ever truly turning from it . Those people like the idea of heaven , but they live like the world is their prize . They build their entire life around their career , their goals , their image , and they just squeeze Jesus into the margins like a hobby .

Those people say Jesus is Lord , but they don't surrender their decisions to him , and they just squeeze Jesus into the margins like a hobby . They make choices , life-altering choices like dating , marriage , finances , parenting , entertainment , without ever asking what pleases God .

Lukewarm believers say that they love the Lord , but they date unbelievers because it's hard to find a good Christian guy . They wear crosses around their necks but not on their backs . They serve when there's recognition , they give when it's tax deductible . They worship when the atmosphere feels right , but there's no daily dying to self .

They've got no hunger for holiness . They've got no tears of repentance . Jesus says in Matthew 7.16 , if there's no fruit , there's no fire , and if there's no fire , there's no abiding presence of God . Lukewarm believers have gotten just close enough to Jesus to feel spiritual , but they stayed just far enough to remain in control .

And that middle ground , that ain't safe , it's deadly .

Yeah , I'm going to stop sugarcoating it for y'all's benefit . Lukewarm Christianity leads to death , not just emotional exhaustion , not just spiritual dryness , but eternal separation from God . This is not a game , this is not a minor flaw in somebody's faith walk . This is spiritual deception with eternal consequences . Jesus wasn't vague in his warning .

He said in Revelation 3.16, . That's not poetry , people , it's not symbolic , that is judgment . Lukewarm believers do not just miss out on blessings , they miss heaven if they don't repent . We have grown so soft in this Americanized church that this truth makes people uncomfortable . Comfortable , but it should . Eternity is real and Jesus made it clear .

Calling him Lord is not the same as living like he is . Look at his words in Matthew 7 , 21 through 23 . Not everyone who calls out to me , lord , lord , will enter the kingdom of heaven . Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter On judgment day .

Many will say to me Lord , lord , we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and perform many miracles in your name . But I will reply I never knew you . Get away from me , you who break God's laws . Those aren't atheists .

They're people who claim his name , who knew the language , who looked the part , but they never surrendered , they never repented , they never obeyed , they were lukewarm , and Jesus says it plainly I never knew you . That should terrify us into transformation . What's it look like when somebody lives lukewarm and never repents ?

It's a man who goes to church every Sunday . He raises his hands in worship , but he cheats on his taxes . He watches porn at night . He never confronts his addiction because God understands . It looks like a woman who sings in the choir but never forgives the people who hurt her because she thinks her worship cancels out the bitterness .

It looks like a young adult who reads a devotional on Instagram every morning but sleeps with her boyfriend every night , convinced that grace means they're still covered . This people is not repentance . This is rebellion dressed in religious clothing . Hebrews 10 , 26 , and 27 says it even more directly .

Dear friends , if we deliberately continue sinning after we've received knowledge of the truth , there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins . There's only the terrible expectation of God's judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies . This is not about perfection . This is about direction .

Are you chasing righteousness or are you making excuses for compromise ? Because here's the reality . Lukewarm Christians blend in with the culture . They speak Christianese , but their hearts remain unchanged . They avoid the deep cost of following Jesus because they still want control of their own life .

They serve God when it benefits them , but they bow out when it requires suffering . Lukewarmness is a refusal to die to self , and the gospel requires that death . Galatians 2.20 says my old self has been crucified with Christ . It is no longer I who live , but Christ lives in me .

If you're still calling the shots , if you're still defending your sin , if you're still clinging to comfort , then you're not living crucified , you're living lukewarm and you are in danger . Because when Christ returns , he's not coming for lukewarm people who had good intentions . He's coming for the people who were sealed , surrendered and burning with holy fire .

Lukewarm Christianity leads to destruction because it mocks the sacrifice of Christ . Imagine standing before the throne of God and realizing that you sang about him , you talked about him , you even believed in him , but you never , ever surrendered to him .

You spent your whole life near the fire , but you never let it consume you , you never let it refine you , you never let it cost you . Luke warmness will give you church attendance and moral behavior , but it will not give you eternal life . Only a new heart , a surrendered will and a spirit-filled life is going to do that .

So the question is not do you go to church ? The question is do you know him , Does he know you , and does your life bear fruit ? That proves it . If lukewarmness is the temperature of your soul , it's time to repent , because where it leads is not life . It leads to being cast out .

It leads to hearing the most terrifying words ever spoken I never knew you , I can barely say them . But you don't have to stay there . You can come back to the fire . You can lay down your life again , you can be fully his before it's too late

Now . It's not just today this time . Lukewarm Christianity has always been a threat , but in the last days , the days that we're living in , it becomes a weapon of mass deception . The spirit of lukewarmness isn't just laziness , it's a spiritual cancer .

And in the end times where the lines between truth and lies are already blurred , lukewarm faith becomes a breeding ground for compromise and spiritual collapse . Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 , 12 , sin will be rampant everywhere and the love of many will grow cold . This is happening now , not just in the world , but inside the church . People are losing their fire .

They're trading holiness for popularity . They're trading truth for tolerance . They're trading the Word of God for emotional TED Talks labeled as sermons . And it's no accident . 2 Timothy 4 , 3 and 4 says a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching .

They will follow their own desires and look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear . They will reject the truth and chase after myths . That time is here . That time is right now . Lukewarm believers don't want the narrow road . They want the comfortable one , with soft seats , with low standards , no confrontation .

They say things like well , god knows my heart as an excuse to willful sin . They say well , who are you to judge ? To defend rebellion ? They say we all sin every day as a license to never change . They say , well , that's just legalism . Anytime you preach holiness , they say I'm spiritual but not religious , while walking in zero biblical submission .

In the end times , that mindset is deadly . When persecution rises , lukewarm Christians are going to bow to the culture . They will edit their convictions . They'll compromise the gospel . They'll take the mark , not because they hate God , but because their love was never real in the first place . Jesus said in Matthew 10 , 22, .

All nations will hate you because you're my followers , but everyone who endures to the end will be saved . That means only those who endure , only those who stand firm in truth will be saved . Churches are hosting drag queen story hours in the name of inclusion . Worship leaders are living openly in sin while leading people in song . Pastors avoid entire sections of scripture so they don't offend tithers . Christians support abortion under the guise of women's rights . Believers post more about celebrities and politics than they do Jesus .

Parents let their kids dabble in demonic content and then wonder why anxiety rules their homes . That is not fire , that's compromise . And the scary part is many of them still believe they're right with God . Revelation 3.17 is playing out right in front of us .

You say I am rich , I have everything I want , I don't need a thing , and you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked .

Lukewarmness in the end times is not just a weakness , it's a trap , a setup for delusion , a wide open door for the antichrist spirit to walk right into the sanctuary , because when you're numb the fire , you invite the counterfeit .

2 Thessalonians , 2 , 10 and 11 says he will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them . So God will cause them to be greatly deceived and they will believe these lies . If you're not burning with truth , you are vulnerable to deception .

There's no neutral ground . The world is preparing for false peace . Watch the news the church is being sifted , the remnant is rising and lukewarm Christians are sleepwalking straight into judgment . This , what I'm saying , is not fear-mongering . This is Scripture . Now is not the time to soften your stance . Now is not the time to coast through faith .

Now is not the time to flirt with sin . Now

is the time to wake up and burn . So what can you do ? How can you escape this life of lukewarmness and live full , fully alive ? Lukewarmness doesn't die quietly . It fights to stay . It hides behind your routines , religion , pride , convincing you that you're not that bad , while your fire quickly , quietly fades .

But the good news is this you don't have to stay lukewarm , you don't have to stay numb and tired and cold or indifferent . You can be set on fire again . But I got to be clear . You can't drift your way into holiness . You can't casually wander back into intimacy with God . This is war , people , and you need to fight for your fire .

Here's how you break free from lukewarmness and return to a life that actually burns with the presence of God . You need to repent . You need to repent honestly and immediately . Not just I'm sorry , but a breaking , a turning , a surrender . Tell God the truth . God , I have grown cold , I've been lazy . I've toler grown cold . I've been lazy . I've tolerated sin .

I've made excuses . I want to be changed Acts 3.19, . Repent and then turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out , that times of refreshing may come from the Lord . Real repentance births a revival . Fake repentance only creates more religious activity . Don't try to manage your lukewarmness . You need to kill it . Return to your first love .

Do you remember what it felt like when Jesus first captured your heart ? When you prayed because you wanted him , not because you needed something , when worship wasn't a show but an overflow . Revelations chapter 2 , 4 and 5 says I have this complaint against you . You don't love me or each other like you did at first . Look how far you've fallen . Turn back to me and do the works that you did at first . Look how far you've fallen . Turn back to me and do the works that you did at first . You don't need new theology .

You don't need a fresh love . You need to fall in love with Jesus again . Start spending time with him like he's a person , not a program . Wake up and talk to him Fast , something that dulls your spirit . Stop scrolling and open your Bible . Open a journal and write out your prayers . Don't just study about him . Sit with him .

You need to pursue holiness with urgency . Lukewarm Christians treat sin like a pet On fire . Christians treat sin like a pet On fire . Christians treat sin like poison . If you want to be free , you've got to walk in the fear of the Lord again . That means setting boundaries . That means canceling the show , deleting the app , walking away from the relationship .

It means choosing purity over pleasure , obedience over convenience . 2 Corinthians 7.1, . Let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit and let us work toward complete holiness , because we fear God . If you want the fire of God , you can't keep feeding the flesh . If you're watching shows that glorify sin , you're feeding the lukewarm life .

If you're sleeping with someone and you're not married to them , your fire is being extinguished . If you're constantly gossiping , harboring bitterness , living with unrepented pride , you're not surrendered , you're stagnant . Holiness is not legalism . It's evidence that the fire is real . You need to saturate yourself in Scripture every single day .

Lukewarm believers snack on the Word , the surrendered people . They believe and they live on it . If you're not in the Word of God , you'll never walk in the will of God . I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you . That's Psalm 119.11 . Don't just read verses when you need encouragement .

Let the Bible correct you , convict you , cleanse you . Write it down , memorize it , speak it out loud in your home , make your phone background a verse , put a sticky note on your mirror , build your life around what God says , not how you feel , and then surround yourself with people who refuse to settle . If your closest friends are lukewarm , you will be too .

If your inner circle is compromising , you're going to start to normalize compromise . Proverbs 13.20 says Walk with the wise and become wise . Associate with fools and get in trouble . You need people who will call you out . You need community that convicts you and builds you up . If you're the only one in your group chasing holiness . You need a new group .

Join a small group that prays and fasts together . Ask somebody to hold you accountable for real spiritual goals . Send each other daily verses or prayer requests . Talk about what God's doing in your life more than you talk about sports , sports or news or politics . Fire spreads , but so does coldness . You need to let that fire fall again .

Don't be content with just enough . Cry out for more . Get on your knees and ask the Lord to ignite you again . Ask for hunger , ask for tears , ask for joy , ask for conviction . Tell God I want you more than I want comfort . Set me on fire again . Romans 12 11 says Never be lacking in zeal , but keep your spiritual fervor serving the Lord .

Some days that means worshiping when you feel nothing . Other days it means shutting the door and weeping before God until the cold parts of your soul begin to melt . Fire doesn't fall on casual hearts . It falls on altars of sacrifice . So build one . Turn off the distractions , turn down the noise , turn back to God and the fire will come .

You're never going to regret going all in for Jesus . You're never going to look back and wish you had lived more lukewarm . You'll never stand before God and think I should have settled more . But you might regret never waking up . You might regret wasting years half in . You might regret knowing the truth and still choosing apathy . It's not about hype .

This is about holiness . It's not an emotional feeling . It's about becoming faithful . Jesus is not coming back for casual churchgoers . He's returning for a bride burning with love , clothed in purity and filled with oil . So you need to ask yourself am I ready or am I just religious ? This is your moment Repent , return and reignite .

Let this be the day that lukewarm dies and the fire begins .

I'm going to wrap this up , but I need to say just a few more things . This is not a time to coast . This is not a time to be comfortable . This is not the time to blend in . This is the time to burn . The fire of God will not rest on half-committed people . He's not calling for church members . He's calling for soldiers .

Because lukewarmness doesn't look like rebellion . It looks like apathy . It looks like rebellion . It looks like apathy .

It looks like excuses , it looks like distraction and it leads to death . But today you can repent , you can return , you can light the fire again . Let this be the day your soul wakes up . Let this be the day that numbness ends . Let this be the day that Jesus is no longer just knocking at your door because you've already let him in .
