Loyalty has become a forgotten virtue in today's world of convenience and self-focus. This raw, challenging episode confronts what true loyalty looks like in an age where commitment has become optional and faithfulness rare.

The loyalty crisis affecting our world manifests in three critical areas. First, in our relationship with God—where many offer lip service without the obedience that costs something. Biblical loyalty isn't about religious performance but showing up when temptation strikes, when God seems silent in suffering, and when the crowd abandons ship. As Rick powerfully reminds us, "American Christianity preaches comfort. Biblical Christianity preaches loyalty."

The crisis extends into our relationships, where we're often connected but not committed. True loyalty gets tested when friends struggle with addiction or depression, when difficult confrontations become necessary, and when forgiveness feels impossible. Like Ruth told Naomi, loyalty declares, "where you go, I'll go" even when there's nothing to gain but shared sorrow.

Most challenging is the call to remain loyal to the church—protecting what God is building despite imperfections. With believers leaving churches over offense rather than doctrine, leaders burning out, and congregations splitting over personalities, we need the steadfastness described in Hebrews 10:25. The remnant God is raising in these end times aren't perfect, but they're faithful when it's unpopular, present when it's difficult, and unwavering when everything shakes. Will you be among the loyal ones still standing when Christ returns? The decision starts today.

Loyalty in a World of Betrayal

Hey , welcome back to Renewed Mindsets , the podcast that shakes up soft religion and realigns your thinking with the mind of Christ . I'm Rick and I'm so glad you're here . In today's episode we're going to hit really deep Because we're talking about a word that this generation doesn't even understand anymore Loyalty , loyalty .

We're watching a loyalty crisis unfold in our world . People are loyal to convenience , not conviction , to feelings , not truth to self , not to God , not truth to self , not to God . Loyalty isn't loud , it doesn't advertise itself , but it shows up in how we obey God , how we love people and how we handle the church .

In a culture that ghosted commitment , the loyal ones will shine bright in the darkness . So today I'm asking are you

Loyalty to God

one of the last loyal ones ? So let's begin where loyalty has to start with God , not with lip service , not with bumper sticker faith , but with obedience when it costs you . Luke 9.23 says If anyone would come after me , let him deny himself , take up his cross daily and follow me . Those are the words of Jesus .

That doesn't sound like a Sunday morning slogan , does it ? That's a

When Loyalty to God is Tested

lifestyle of sacrifice . So so when is our loyalty to God tested ? Well , it's tested when you're tempted by what you used to love , that old addiction , that toxic relationship , that shortcut to success . The temptation says God will understand . Loyalty says I'd rather offend my flesh than offend my king . It's also tested when God seems silent in your suffering .

Your child's not healed yet your marriage still feels cold . The money is still tight . Loyalty says even if I don't see the miracle , I'll still worship the master Job 13.15, . Though he slay me , yet , I will trust him .

It's also tested when the crowd walks away , when your friends are deconstructing their faith , when leaders fall , when culture mocks you for your convictions . Loyalty means staying when others sprint for the exit . John 6 , 66 through 68 says many turned back and no longer followed him . Jesus asked Do you want to leave too ?

Peter replied Lord , to whom shall we go ? There's been times I've wanted to run . There's times where things were difficult for me , where I was and I thought I could just leave and it'd be so much better . But then I say , where would I go ? No place is better than where I'm at . I've just got to overcome this . Think of Daniel .

He was loyal to Babylon and they told him to bow , but he stood . They told him to be quiet , he just prayed louder . Or , in a real-time thing , the persecuted church today , believers in North Korea or China , parts of Africa , who lose everything but refuse to deny Christ . American Christianity preaches comfort . Biblical Christianity preaches loyalty .

Under pressure and in these end times we're seeing a false Jesus being preached , a sanitized , sin-affirming , powerless version of Christ . But Jesus said in John 4.15 , of Christ . But Jesus said in John 4.15 , if you love me , you will keep my commandments . That's

Loyalty to One Another

not legalism , that's loyal love . Let's talk about loyalty in relationships , because betrayal isn't just happening in the world , it's happening in the body of Christ . Proverbs 17 , 17 says A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity . Today , friendship is shallow . People are connected but they're not committed .

We post prayers but ghost the friend who's drowning . We post

When Loyalty to One Another is Tested

prayers but ghost the friend who's drowning . So earlier we talked about when is loyalty to God tested . Now let's talk about when is loyalty to one another tested . It's tested when somebody's struggling . Do we stand with them or do we judge them from a distance ? Someone falls into addiction or depression or sin . Do we avoid them or do we go get them ?

Galatians , chapter 6 , 1 and 2 says If someone is caught in sin , restore them gently , carry each other's burdens . Yeah , it's also tested when confrontation is required . Loyalty isn't passive , it's not enabling . It means loving someone enough to say you're screwing up , you're drifting and I care too much to let you fall .

Proverbs 27.6 , faithful are the words of a friend . Another way it's tested when forgiveness is hard . Someone hurts you , wounds you , disappoints you . Loyalty doesn't always mean reconciliation , but it does mean refusing to slander , refusing to seek revenge and staying Christ-like even in the pain . Now here's an example . Think of Ruth .

When Naomi had nothing left , she said where you go , I'll go . Your God will be my God . People , that's loyalty to someone who could offer her nothing but shared sorrow . Or think of Paul and Barnabas . They had real conflict , but both kept serving Christ and the gospel kept moving . We're not called to like everybody , but we have to love .

Loyalty doesn't always look like agreement . It looks like grace and perseverance .

Loyalty to the Church

So we've discussed being loyal to God , being loyal to one another . Now let's talk about loyalty to the church , protecting what God is building . We're in a time where the church is under pressure from the outside and the inside . People are leaving churches not because of truth but because of offense .

Leaders are burning out because the sheep expect perfection without offering prayer . Churches are splitting not over doctrine but personalities and preferences . Hebrews 10.25 says Do not give up meeting together , but encourage one another . Don't quit going , encourage one another , keep going to church . Now , when is loyalty to the church tested ?

Well , when leadership makes mistakes . You know , you know what I'm talking about . Do you correct in love and pray , or do you spread gossip and leave ? No church is perfect . No leader is flawless . Loyalty means staying rooted while pursuing truth and accountability . Another way loyalty is tested with the church when you're asked to serve , not just receive .

Consumer Christianity says what can I get ? Kingdom loyalty says what can I get . Kingdom loyalty says where can I serve ? First Corinthians , chapter 12 , verse 27 , says you are the body of Christ and each one of you is part of it Another way . Loyalty to the church is tested when offense comes knocking at the door . People are going to disappoint you .

Sermons won't always inspire you , but loyalty means you don't bail at the first conflict . You fight for unity . Ephesians 4.3 says Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace . I mean , look at Jesus and his disciples . He built a church with a tax collector , a zealot , a doubter and a betrayer , but still he didn't abandon them .

A church divided will never survive the end times , but a loyal remnant will .

Are You One of the Last Loyal Ones?

So let me ask you are you one of the last loyal ones ? Yeah , I said the last . What does that mean ? The Bible warns us that before Jesus returns , there's going to be a great falling away . 2 Thessalonians 2.3 says that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first . We are watching that rebellion right now . Loyalty is rare . Betrayal is common .

But you weren't called to follow the crowd , you were called to follow Christ . You don't need a platform to be loyal . You don't need applause . You just need a surrendered heart and a determined spirit that says though none go with me , still I will follow .

Loyalty Starts Today

So it's about to get intense . Loyalty starts today . Here's my call to action . Stop giving God half-hearted obedience . Stop walking away from people who need you . Stop hopping churches and calling it . Well , god moved me . God told me to move . Recommit your loyalty to Jesus . Love someone who's hurting . Serve your church with passion and humility .

If you've been disloyal , repent . If you've been wounded , heal , but don't harden . If you're still standing , stay strong . God sees you . You're not called to blend in . You're called to stand out In the fire , in the storm in the last days .

The Sound of Betrayal vs. The Silence of Loyalty

Well , if you're still here , man , I love these bonus segments because you get really the best part of the whole podcast . It's the ones who really want to hear it . Let me ask you do you know what betrayal sounds like ? Huh , it's the clink of 30 silver coins . It's the soft footsteps of disciples scattering in the night .

It's the kiss of a friend who says rabbi while selling out the Son of God . But do you know what loyalty sounds like ? Nothing , no spotlight , no fanfare , just silence and obedience . Loyalty doesn't need to announce itself . It just shows up in a prison cell , like Paul and Silas . It stands beside a bleeding Savior .

Like John , it weeps at the tomb and still waits for a resurrection , like Mary . We've got too many Peters warming themselves at the fire and not enough Daniels praying in the window . Too many Judas hearts dressed in church clothes and not enough Esther saying if I perish , I perish .

This world doesn't need more opinions , it needs more loyal hearts faithful when it's not popular , present when it's not easy , and unwavering when the ground is shaking . The remnant God is raising up in these end times . They are not perfect , but they're loyal . They fall but they rise again . They hurt but they heal .

In truth , they carry crosses while the crowd chases comfort . Revelation 17 , 14 says the Lamb will overcome and with him are his , called , chosen and faithful . Not the talented , not the flashy , not the TikTok theologians , the faithful .

When the dust settles and the world collapses , will you still be standing , not because of your strength , but because you stayed loyal to the one who never betrayed you . Jesus didn't flinch when they whipped him . He didn't quit when they mocked him . He didn't call down angels when they nailed him to the cross . So don't you dare walk away now .

You stay loyal , you stay holy and you stay ready , because he's coming back and he's coming for the loyal ones .
