Keeping the End in Sight

One of the signs of Allah ﷻ is the frigid weather. Checking the forecast during this time provides two benefits. First, it helps an individual prioritize between those tasks that are most important and those that can wait until the weather improves. Second, checking the forecast informs of when the cold weather will end. This serves to inspire hope that a better forecast lies ahead. Similar to this is the example of the life of this world in relation to Paradise. Every believer’s life harbors challenges, but the knowledge of Heaven as their final abode encourages them to prioritize their actions to those things that are relevant to the hereafter. In addition, knowing that Paradise is promised to all believers serves as a motivation to strive through the challenges which befall them in this world.
