Episode description

are walls the answer?? japan build more than 400km of walls across the coastline but it is ripping apart communities that might rely on the sea for their daily livelihoods for decades and are now crippled by the fact that what was once built to save them is now the only thing that is keeping them at bay, the seawall is by no means the greatest thing for them to secure a good safety measure, 2011 -18.5k people dead, 560sqkmof land lost, waves 15m high wiped away everything, the seawall was useless.

17b dollars being spent on the seawall in japan, can walls save lives?

25m deep foundation

seawalls won't be able to hold back all tsunami's low-end waves, yes but stronger waves might not be able to be of any help, but the seawalls are meant to be functional even though they are submerged but now will they help,

at 63m the deepest foundation ever, the seawall at the port of japan in kamaishi is one for the ages and is also mentioned in the Guinness book of records but does it help.. the 2011 tsunami broke off the breakwater - the conclusion is the fact that breakwater helped a lot by earning time, 13m height was dropped to 8m and a total time of 6m was earned for evac,, so parts of the breakwater were rebuilt at 6m cost value attached to it.
