Episode description

Madam Ambassador Gutmann assumed her position as the U.S. Ambassador to Germany in early 2022. Prior to her appointment, she was the University of Pennsylvania’s longest serving President from 2004-2022. In 2018, she was named by Fortune magazine as one of the “World’s 50 Greatest Leaders”. Being of Jewish descent and having a family history of flight from Nazi Germany, Madam Ambassador Gutmann was eager to retrace the country of origin of her late father. Madam Ambassador Gutmann and I first met at the US Consulate in Frankfurt, where she introduces herself to the press, answering difficult questions about pressing current issues. We met once anew for this podcast to address the topic of how to navigate in a fast-paced, ever-changing world. By bridging the gap and bonding the people.
