The Poetry of Eulogy: Lament + His Goodness

The ability for pain and praise to be simultaneously present in our lives is one of the unique realities of the Christian faith. The poet of Lamentations 3 puts this truth on full display. Whatever tragedy might befall us, whatever storms may come, whatever suffering awaits us, may our refrain in all circumstances be, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23)!
