What may seem like an abrupt break in the exciting action of the Gospel account is actually leading us to one of the most important events in Christ's entire ministry. After 40 days, the devil visits Jesus to test him. Exhausted from fasting for 40 days, how does Jesus respond to the devil's testing - and what happens if he fails?
