While working on a mental health unit, OP and their colleagues were supposed to check up on the patients once an hour. They used flashlights to not wake the patients, but while one colleague was checking on patients, suddenly there was a loud scream. After arriving in the room, OP could see a female patient had jumped on their coworker when she had checked in the room and shined her light on the patient, who was waiting in the dark, ready to pounce.
