What’s Your Superpower? (with Adrienne Kirschner and Julie Womack)

This week, we’re celebrating everyday superheroes. From our podcast hosts to our Red Wine & Blue community to you, our listeners, we are blessed and grateful to have so many superheroes on our side. But as the holiday season gets underway, even superheroes are feeling the stress. As moms, so much of the planning and decorating and gift shopping falls on our shoulders, which can turn a meaningful holiday into a stressful to-do list. So this week, we’re joined by Julie and Adrienne from Red Wi...

Who You Gonna Call? (with Keir Bradford-Grey)

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving week and were able to take some time to relax and recharge. We all worked so hard in the past few months to get the election results that we did, and it’s important to take some time to rest. This week, the hosts catch up about their holiday week and talk about the passing of Rosalynn Carter and, on the opposite end of the spectrum, the troubling reasons that Moms for Liberty have been in the news lately. Then Jasmine gets the chance to sit down with Kei...

Conversations With A Side Of Cranberries

This week is Thanksgiving and we’re talking about how to survive the political conversations that come up during the holidays. Amanda, Jasmine and Rachel share their own personal experiences with those tricky holiday conversations, which can be even trickier when you’re a mom. It’s important to listen and figure out what values you have in common with your relatives, but it’s also important to know when to stop the conversation and pass the mashed potatoes. We hope you’re having a safe and happy...

Facts, Not Fear (with Dr. Leah Boustan)

It’s been a week since the election and we’re still smiling about the results! Republicans used scare tactics and misinformation about reproductive freedom, and it didn't work. So today we’re talking about another issue that becomes more about fear than facts… immigration. We got a chance to talk to Dr. Leah Boustan, a rockstar economist who studies immigration, and she shared some real facts and data with us. She recently published a book called “Streets of Gold: America's Untold Story of Immig...

When We Unite, We Win (with Jess McIntosh)

Today we are celebrating big wins! We were all holding our breath for Tuesday’s election results because there was so much on the line, from the ballot measure in Ohio to the Virginia legislature to school board races across the country. And we are so excited to say that last night, democracy won! We’re joined for this special election recap episode by one of our favorite guests, Jess McIntosh. Jess helps us celebrate the wins (Issue 1 in Ohio! We kept the State Senate and flipped the House of D...

Vote For The Big Tent (with Maggie Hartmann)

There was a lot of bad news to talk about this week… the mass shooting in Maine, the extreme views of the new Speaker of the House, the war in the Middle East. But this is our last episode before the election so we all have to use this as fuel to get more involved, not to disengage. And there are always little victories to celebrate! Scholastic reversed their decision to segregate diverse books, our past Troublemaker dad Darren won his lawsuit against his book-banning school district, and closer...

Build It Up, Don’t Tear It All Down (with Lily Franklin)

This week, we're talking about the personal attacks that Amanda and her family have been dealing with lately. Whether it’s over a local school board election, Ohio’s Issue 1, or any political issue, MAGA’s first move always seems to be personal attacks and downright creepy behavior. It’s not even limited to their political opponents on the left: extremists have been sending death threats to Republicans (and their families!) for not voting “their way” for Speaker of the House. We’re over here try...

The Power of the People (with Sec. of State Jocelyn Benson)

We’ve been counting down the weeks until the November election - we’re at three now, if you’re counting with us. And with everything happening in the world right now, it can be hard to feel motivated about an election. But local wins and little victories are the best antidote to the sadness and helplessness we might feel when we’re scrolling through our news feed. So this week we are so excited to talk to Jocelyn Benson, Michigan’s Secretary of State and all-around amazing woman. She’s a voting ...

Momentum Matters (with Nikia Miller and Ann Shroyer)

This week, Jasmine and Rachel share their sadness about what’s happening in Israel. Our hearts go out to the civilians who find their ordinary lives torn apart by violence in the Middle East, in Ukraine, and even in the United States with gun violence. Tragedy can feel far away until it hits close to home, but by continuing to talk to our friends and neighbors, continuing to vote and make our voices heard, we can keep up the momentum and make real change. Then we’re joined by Nikia in Virginia a...

Let’s Be The Vocal Majority (with Senator Amanda Cappelletti)

Did you know that just eleven people are responsible for 60% of book bans in this country? This week is National Banned Books Week, and we talk about how a vocal minority is responsible for everything from book bans to gerrymandered maps. And the media is so obsessed with extremists like Donald Trump that a lot of Americans aren’t even aware of the good work being done across the country and in the White House. After their news catch-up, Jasmine and Amanda sit down with State Senator Amanda Capp...

He Doesn’t Even Go Here (with Gaby Goldstein)

This week, hosts Jasmine Clark, Rachel Vindman, and Amanda Weinstein talk about how far the bar has lowered for conduct amongst extremists, whether it’s Georgia Governor Kemp cowardly and dangerously supporting Trump, a man going after someone’s child in a school board meeting, or Ohio’s Frank LaRose changing the rules of democracy to take away women’s reproductive rights. The hosts express concern and sadness at the message that extremists are sending to children: if you’re different in any way...

Don't Mansplain Our Reproductive Freedom (with Katie Paris)

This week, Amanda Weinstein is joined by Red Wine & Blue founder Katie Paris to talk about the latest GOP shenanigans to prevent Ohioans from voting for reproductive freedom. In August, voters rejected Issue 1, which would have required a 60% vote on future constitutional amendments. But that wasn't the last Hail Mary pass for Secretary of State Frank LaRose in his attempts to subvert the will of the people. Now, he's pushed through misleading and mansplaining ballot language in hopes of con...

The School Board Culture War

Across the country, new right-leaning PACs are pouring money into school board races, aiming to flip control of who governs schools in favor of self-proclaimed ‘parents rights’ advocates. For significantly less than what it would cost them to influence a seat in the House or Senate, these PACs are pouring funds into local school board races and as a result, changing education on a national scale. Their aim? Gain control of more school systems and push back on what is taught about race, sex, gend...

This week is the one-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision, when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade.
