Episode description

On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, host Judy Comeaux spoke with John Pisciotta, founder of Pro-Life Waco (PLW). He invited listeners to attend their Rise Up Waco event on Saturday, November 27 from 8-10 AM; to join PLW every fourth Saturday for prayer and witness in front of Planned Parenthood; and to participate in 40 Days for Life's "mini-40 Days" campaign on November 30 and December to pray in advance of oral arguments in the Dobbs case at the United States Supreme Court. You can find more information about all the work of PLW at www.prolifewaco.com.

In the second part of the show, Judy welcomed a good friend, Beth Cowles, a veteran director of religious education and graduate of Franciscan University's graduate school of catechetics. She and Judy took listeners through the historical development of the Catholic Church's liturgical calendar, especially highlighting how biblical it is and how it is yet another way in which Christianity fulfills the beliefs and practices of ancient Judaism. Judy and Beth concluded with an overview of the purposes and practices of Advent, which begins this Sunday, November 28. Beth and her husband, Kristofer, run the non-profit faith formation apostolate, Holy Owned and Operated, and produce the weekly podcast "On the Road to Perfection." You can find out more and sign up for her weekly mass preparation email at their website, www.holyownedandoperated.com. And remember, when choosing between the values of heaven and the values of earth, always round up!
