Episode description

On Wednesday, October 21, Pam talked a little bit about marriage, as October 21 was her 31st wedding anniversary! She quoted St. JPII and talked about the beauty of the Sacrament of Marriage. In the second part of the show, she spoke with Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, author of a new book, Light and Leaven: The Challenge of the Laity in the Twenty-First Century. Bishop Strickland was inspired to write this book to encourage all people to really step up and live out the Gospel, no matter where they are in their lives. Bishop Strickland believes that as bishops, priests, and an institution as a whole, we have to do a better job of giving families—the domestic Church—the tools that they need in order to make being Catholic not just something you do on Sundays, but to realize it’s a way of life. Listen to Bishop Strickland’s beautiful conversation with Pam, and you will hear his love for The Lord and the Church. You can purchase Light and Leaven here!
