Barbara is isolated with Meningitis, while Lucille, taking on her patients, makes new friends with a fellow Jamaican couple. Dr Turner, attending a scabies outbreak at a boys' remand home, takes pity on the bullied Michael Sumpter, whose wife Alison is pregnant. He is determined to help the youngster at court, battling the authorities and Alison's prejudiced mother, while Alison needs Shelagh's professional skills.
