First of all, Robin, how are you? I mean right now? My back hurt? Okay, I woke up with a bad back. I don't know why. Okay, So if I said that, wo im broke your back out? Is that bad to say? Last night it was a great night in a Dixon happening, not today. Not that that's not the reason. I don't know.

I just slept wrong. Isn't this the worst? Like you just wake up and you're just like ah. Is that a part of getting old? Or is that just like a bad mattress. It's a bad Wait wait a minute, when was the last time you changed it? I need a new one, I really do. Like we hate our mattress. Oh yeah, you gotta get a mattress. Will change your life, I know, I know, yes, yes, and ours right now, like our life is miserable. Yes, we'll put that on the list of things to do. Go to mattress discounts.

I got one of those. Yeah, so I got one of those um ones that come in a box, you know, like the memory phone ones, Like they come in a box and then you get it and it opens up and it's like a king size mattress. Yeah. I've never seen this before in my life. Yes, no, that's the thing. It's just the purple it's similar to the purple mine was. Um. It's like one of those. It's like it was like one of those companies that like, you know, that's okay,

how long did that last? When you buy that? M I was at let's see what the house was that my second town house? Okay, so that's that was probably two short hair Yeah, three years ago I had short hair. So that was so don't buy that again because that should have lasted much longer. No, I'm not. I know, I know, it's totally like it was fine at first, but it's like we feel sunken in in the sunken place, in the sunken place, and what's that what's that guy's name?

Who was Daniel? Daniel something? He has an African He's in another movie like that in the Sunken Place, but another Jordan Peel movie. Like that's like that being type cast. He is sunken. Okay, I have my reasonably shady moments. I was traveling recently. I don't know whether you were traveling, but I would think I was. You were okay, And so my shady moment are misque gutoes, oh gosh, okay, And I know this is this is a little you know, it's my bringing you PTSD Robin. But I might have

right now like thirty mosquito bites. And I know because like you don't feel them, and then all of a sudden, out of know where, you just start itching all over the place. Yes, or someone says, oh, you got a mosquito bite on the back of your arm, and then all of a sudden you feel it and you start you start I got bitten up, so badly. I was like talking to God. I was like, God, why did you put these creatures on the earth. I mean they come out of nowhere, they bite you, and then they

roll and then they leave. Like, what's their purpose? What is that purpose? Why do we need them? Mosquitoes be gone? Yes? Oh, yes I was. I was in that boat with you for sure. Yes. Um, the mosquitoes. I mean it was like, you have mosquitoes like on your face, on my face, on my back, on my butt, um, in between my thighs and places that I don't want mosquitoes. It was so bad, it was horrible. It was awful. So that's that's my The mosquitoes are my shady moment for the summer.

I think I'm just gonna put them in the the whole summer. They're the worst I want to do. You know, there's like companies that were like sprayed like your whole yard. I did that? You did that? Did that work for you? It shout out to True Green, True Laan. Okay, you're a long people. What's the name of the company, True Green? Anyway? No, my A Long people didn't do it. They don't do it. A lot of people don't do it. True value. It's

another it's a company that does it. I called and yeah, they came out and it's d when I say, sprayed my house down. So it lasts for like thirty days and then they come back every every month. Okay, all yeah, I'm gonna I wonder if my pest control company does that. I need to call them, you need to ask them. But it's a it's a it's a mosquito situation. And they were gone because like my kids were out back and they said they got bit once. We're normally it

would have been five all right, so it works. That's good, all right, all right, cool, I'm gonna do that from my yard because I want to. I just want to like hang out outside up this year. Yeah, you want to enjoy it, Yeah for sure. All right. What's your shady? So my shady moment is related to traveling as well? Okay, yes, and you know we traveled, um came home very long

exhausting trip. You know, you get home late at night, you're ready just ready to like, you know, just get through the airport and get your bags and go home. But no, the custom the US Customs department at Dullest Airport wants to have only like four people working when they have like twenty thousand boots, right, they're all like at least and there's like four people working. Asked me how long we stid in line? How are you? Probably not? I don't know, um an hour and ten minutes inline

at customs? Okay. So to put this in perspective, GIZL is global What's what's the word global? Global entry? Global? Global entry? I'm global entry. So when Robin went right, when she went left, I went right, Yes, okay, So I went to global entry side. I probably was home and y'allre still on that line. You were definitely home and we were still on the line. Definitely. That's horrible. That's so bad. And I remember this happened to us before when we came back from Portugal and you didn't

have Global entry. Then now I said to myself, this is the last time this ship is gonna happen to be right, And I totally forgot like about that experience. And so when we were on the plane, I was like, watch us have to stand in line at customs for for an hour. Again, that's what happened. I think Portugal was worse. I think we were in line for like

almost two hours. Portugal took me over the edge because it's like, you get back into the country, you want to go home exactly, you're tired, You're dealing with the time difference, all of that. Like it's so crazy. And I thought when it happened coming back from Portugal, I was like, Okay, maybe they're just you know, maybe people called out sick today. Maybe they're just short staff today, not thinking that this is what they do, this is how they get down there. Later it's gonna be the

same thing, same thing. And it's so embarrassing because I'm like the country we went to, we walked right and we walked right up to the booth, we in and we out. So it's like the other countries have their customs lines under control. We gotta talked to Biden. Yeah or no, this is common. This is a common issue. Well when we were in Portugal, that was a Trump issue. So I don't even know who can so true do we blame? I don't know, because we can't blame Trump, right,

I think I'm gonna blame com we can. It's remnants of Trump they haven't Yes, you know what else is remnants of Trump? That goddamn gas. But I'm not gonna don't don't get me. People are going to tell you that that that's Biden's fault. That ain't Biden's fault. Okay, But on a happier note, because we did ask you guys to let us know what's your happy places. I know it sounds crazy to be happy in a place where you're gonna work and sweat your tail off, but I'm obsessed. I always feel

I love the yoga being your happy place. Yes, yes, and hot yoga that definitely is like it is so hard in like hot and sweaty, but you feel so

good at I haven't done yoga in a minute. I haven't done it a a long time, and I need to, that's for sure. Maybe my back won't be hurting. Yes, but you're gonna blame it on the mattress. But we all know what it is, so let's see, all right. So Lisa Lagos or like Legos, Lisa from Maryland says, Hi, ladies, I was just listening listening to episode forty eight where you were talking about your happy place. Without a doubt, my happy place is my large soaking bathtub. I love that.

I light a candle, throwing either a bath bomb or bath salts, a glass of wine and boom boost in happy place. I love that. Can so do you soak in a bathtub? Just do you do? Can I tell you that I've been in my house for almost a year now and I have a nice big bathtub and I've never been in it. That's terrible, that's bad. I need to make an effort. Yes, um, I think my mama said, you gotta soak behind you, yes you coachi, Yeah, gotta let it marinate. Yes, I mean that. I think

that's just. I think it's Yes, what's wrong with just but it's shower and it's a nice feeling though, just to be in to relax exactly. Yeah, I'm going to make an effort to do that for sure. Okay. read that. But this is good, Okay, to know that I control every aspect of every run, from lace up the shoes to the speed, and the route recharges me away from home. So I've always said, and I didn't say this when we talked about our happy place, but like the gem, like working out is

a happy place for me. So you run like you do the treadmill? Right, do you run outside? I don't. Sometimes my kids try to get me, well, just a door because the door was a little shady. She tries to get me to run outside because you know, she could run outside longer than me, so she just tries to, like, you know, be mean. But I take a treadmill, I mean a running treadmill class, and it is it's amazing. Yeah, you get off that treadmill and you feel like you

can conquer the world. See, I hate the treadmill. I'm sorry, I can't. I'm sorry I can't agree. I like I do win. I decided to move my my ass. I like to run outside like I love. It has to be And this is so crazy, Like I will pick the hottest day of the summer to go for a run, like I just want to like sweat and feel hot and like feel like I'm doing something. I don't want to run if it's like cold outside, or if it's like like today right now it's like cloudy and overcast.

I don't want to run out. You want hot, I want the sun out on me. Okay, I want to come back and I got tan lines everywhere. Okay, girl, Okay, yes, I like I like that. Okay, So we're gonna switch gears a little bit because we gotta talk about this NBA playoffs and we don't really care who's winning, but

we do care what's happening in the stands. I know, And it's quite possible, just for um, you know, I don't full disclosure, it's quite possible that the playoffs are over by now because if the Golden State Warriors actually they should be over regardless, and that'll do it. It's over. The Golden State Warriors return to a familiar place. They're on top of the NBA world. The fourth title of eight years is still very much alive. Yes, okay, but when somebody has won, and we don't know yet someone

has one, we don't know yet. But we need to be talking about what's happening in the stands because it is tea brewing honey with the Steph Curry parents. So Robin peeped because I haven't peeped yet. Um, steps Mom, what's her name? Sonia's boo? Yeah, but I've peeped the dad's boo. So it was just pictures. So I saw pictures on on Instagram where people like put two and two together, like wait a minute, right, there goes sign it with Steven, and there goes down with the lady, and then and then they show the family picture of the white married couple when they were married, and it's like it's definitely them. Like I imagine it being like you know, Blue clearly has a personality, and I imagine that's the personality when you are jay Z and Beyonce's child. Yes, yes, that is the person so cute and then you just love seeing like the daddy daughter moment. Yes, think my daughter to the to the gate. Jazy doesn't smile much. He was cheesing from smitten. He's so smitten. He was happy to be on a

hot day with his daughter. Loved every second of you. But that hair was everything. Was like he put his arm around her and she said, Dad, my hair like Dad, Blue, He's not gonna mess your curls out. Your curls are popping. But speak up. The Queen be. The Queen Bee has dropped some pictures on us. First of all, British fogus. I know, of course you know what. Okay, so pictures that that photo shoot does everything, of course, like do

we expect anything less? But I mean, I want to say I was I feel like Beyonce fans like, no, when it's time for Beyonce to come out of hiding that where it was just a short few weeks ago where I was like, what is doing something? Yeah, where where is she? Something's happening. It's been a little too quiet and um, and we haven't seen her and we

haven't seen her and I'm expecting something. And then yes, and then it was like a week later, it was like she removed her picture from her Instagram, her Instagram profile pictures, and then had the people all the internet in a frenzy and I was frenzy, was like I knew it something was coming. It was like it was

too much time has has gone. So yes, So today she she dropped the Vogue, the British Spoke and she also says she's got an album coming out a lot of twenty nine, a lot of twenty nine, and so we know what that means. Tickets to the concert will drop probably today, yes, and I'll be buying it and guess what it can be. And I'm gonna adele, I'm going to go because we know it's going to happen.

You know it's not going to get canceled, and we know that Beyonce is not going to stand up there and be like, oh the whole time, right, I will not complain about whatever the price is. I want to complain. I'll just buying the ticket. Yes, yeah, I think I'll be there too, So yes, let's coordinate. We will coordinate. But Cal, you know, Cal is a big cow. You know who does Who's a good friend of mine, who does my hair. He is a big Beyonce fan. So he's been calling me for weeks like just that what

She's in her forties now, and you have to wonder how long can she sustain all of the wear and tear on her body? wonder how long can she sustain that? So my thought process about Beyonce is like she needs to start making like classic songs like Allow Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Anita Baker. I think we have though, No, she's got to shake her ass to them. Oh classic like not, you don't

have to dance that hard. She has to start like you know, as long as she can make her dance songs, fine, yes, she also I think my opinion that she needs to start pivoting and putting out some nice classic like strong R and B soul classics that she, when she's sixty five can stand on stage and just belt out. I think you're a hater, Robin, because I'm trying to look out for her. Well, look at Tina Turner. Tina Turner did her Tina Turner dance until she was what damn

So Juneteenth commemorates the events of June nineteenth, eighteen sixty five, when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveson, Texas to informed enslaved African Americans that the Civil War had ended and they were free. And on June seventeenthe oh, it officially became a federal holiday. Okay. So how long did that take the longest time? From six okay to do this? Mad here, so this is ridiculous. A hundred years to nineteen sixty five. It's another thirty five.

That's a hundred thirty five plus six hundred fifty six years. It took us for us to calculate finally, Yeah, I did on my calculate. Robin did that at her head. I used my calculade. Anyway, we got to the same number. Okay, So like, why did texts so long for them to

And well, unfortunately, had the whole George Floyd situation that happened, this would this holiday would not exist, It would not you know, like maybe it would have taken something else for you know, our society to kind of wake up on what's been going on. And unfortunately, someone else would have had to have, you know, experienced something as tragic as George Floyd for the you know,

this to happen. But yeah, this one that happened had George Floyd not been murdered police officers in front of the world, right in front of the world, is actually for everyone to see that man get murdered. And this is this holiday came about after you know, I don't I don't want to call it. What was the response

to George Floyd, Like the protest not protests. I don't. Yeah, black lives matter that everybody started protesting from in this country, and reckoning, I'm gonna call it a reckoning, okay, Dave right, Oh it was a revolution maybe revolution, maybe like a social reckoning. Yes, So had that not happened, you know, we would not be celebrating it. But I do want to say I am a member of Delta Signment Data,

so already incorporated, and my alumni chapter always celebrated Juneteenth. Yeah, yeah, we always have, Like we always have an event in the community celebrating Junetee as long as I can remember, we've been doing that. So this is the day that we have licensed black people to just have a barbecue, right, Like, not that we need a reason because we have it every Saturday, but we we haven in a queue today, right,

so let's see. Okay, So this year, it says also not every state is participating now because there's some states out there Republicans that are still not Okay, So it says nearly twenty states are expected to close state offices, which is great, and give most of their public employees

time off. At least six states officially adopted the holiday over the past few months, so this is good, So it's probably so, I guess it's twenty six states now, so Connecticut, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, South Dakota, Utah, and Washington have also adopted the holiday and are closing their state offices.
