Welcome to Reality with the King. It's me Carlos Kings, the King of Reality TV and one of the most sought after executive producers in reality television with over ten years a production experience. Twice a week on Reality with the King, we'll sit down with my friends across the entertainment industry, recap our favorite reality shows and revisit unforgettable moments that we are still talking and tweeting about. Hay, rain Drops, Honey, this is a sad day. I am
wearing black. I have on a veil. What is going on on the Royal House Boss of a tomb mcbaby, I am gagging, I am appalled, and I'm sad. I am sad to announce that Candace Dealer Basset is leaving the Real Housewives of Potomac. Breaking news, breaking news, breaking news. The journalist to the Housewives, Honey, Dave Quinn, has reported that after six seasons, Canda has said, and I quote, I am filled with gratitude. Well, shit, that makes one
of us, Candace. I'm not filled with gratitude. I'm filled up, Honey. I need some pepto bismo. Honey. I am full of sadness. I did not see this coming and this is not what I anticipated or even wanted. Now, as you know, rain Drops, the Real Housewives of Potomac, in my opinion, allegedly, it hasn't been that right in the past two seasons. We needed a cast shake up. I have said multiple times that there needs to at least be three women
that should be removed. Now. I made a promise to the rain Drops that I would not suggest the three women until after the reunion, but apparently child two of them have been revealed. We have learned that Candace Dialer Bassett is leaving. She has given People Magazine that exclusive. However, breaking news, it has been reported by the Jasmine Brand. Yes, Baby, that Robin Dixon is gone. The gag up it all now.
Robin being gone to me, it's a good thing, and I'll address that later, but let's first kick off things with candas. It's unfortunate because when I interview can for the podcast, Candace said she prayed to be on the Royal Housewives of Potomac and that this was something that she wanted badly, and when she got the call, she pretty much prayed for this, manifested this, and I just thought that was so dope that, you know, she has shown that prayer works, that manifestation works, and it's sad
that it did not work out for her. I think Candace came to this show with the best intentions. She came to the show wanting to be herself, and unfortunately I think the way some of those women operate, it's hard to be yourself. And I remember Candace's first season where she was being hazed, right, you know she was, and she was told by some of the housewives, like, stand up for yourself, don't let these girls come for you. And they were giving her pep talk to like read
the girls. And little did they know, honey, she was baby, a master at reading the girls, master class, Baby, she was fantastic at it. And then she gave you her issues with her now husband, Chris Bassett. We got to see Mama Dorothy. She is the quintessential housewife. She comes from wealth, she is a passionate girl, her mother is all of in her business. Hey, miss Dorothy, and she's in a relationship with the man who comes from humble beginnings.
And that's a dynamic that we enjoy from our housewives. Where did things go wrong? Though she had the best setup, and then for the past two years, it appears that, in my opinion, that Candace was coming to work every day not being herself or feeling happy to be there because of the environment in which she was at. You know, I love Giselle Kobe Bryant. She is number nine of My Greatest Housewife's List, and that's not going to change. But Gazelle controls the energy in the room. Gizelle is
the force multiplier. And with Candace and Gazelle being on the outs and Gizelle just not giving Candace any time of the day, it's a very tough environment to be in when the force multiplier isn't giving you anything. Giselle controls the energy. The girls know that, Hey, if Jazelle's in a good mood, then we're all in a good mood. If Jazail's in a bad mood, well, bitch, we're all
in a bad mood. And that's what Candace had to face and what appeared to be this current season of Candace checking out out of I think Candace was checking out. I think they checked out of Canvas. I think Candace knew that it was a voice to Men's song, maybe end of the Road. I believe she knew that. I believe she knew that her time was up. I believe she was aware that. I don't think they want me back, and I do believe that perhaps she did not want
to come back. It just wasn't suitable for her anymore. And The reason why it wasn't suitable anymore is because we lost the spark that Candace had her eye. She loved being a housewife, she loved being a reality star. She used this opportunity to start a really successful singing career that has legs. She had a sellout tour. She opened up for the amazing Tamar Braxton, and her album was actually really good. My favorite song of the album
is called is It Enough? So Canvas has left? And this is what she said and I quote, as I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with the Real Housewives of Potomac, I'm filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth, and moments of introspection that have defined this journey. With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from the Real Housewives of Potomac. This is
not a farewell, but a see you later. Now. I like to read between the lines, Honey, she said, with a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities, Candace, what are these responsibilities? That sounds very personal with a WorldWind of new opportunities, So I take that as she has more to do with her singing career. But as I'm reading, responsibilities that's personal. So if you quit the Real Housewives of Potomac for new responsibilities, that's personal. Could there be
a new arrival of some sorts. I get this sense that Candace may be expecting something not a champagne flute, because you're not supposed to drink when you're expecting something. I don't know. Am I reading too much into this? With a whirlwind of new opportunities that's music career to me and responsibilities on my plate? We all know that Candace and Chris we're going through their IVF journey, so
maybe Candace is expecting a bundle of joy. Candace did say last week on a podcast that she has been thinking heavily about kids and having conversations about their complexion. We will not get into that, honey, but there is something interesting about saying responsibilities on my plate. And if Candace is expecting something blue or pink, honey or neutral colors, okay, thank you, that's a good reason to leave, because you don't want to have a high risk situation while you're
dealing with high risk housewives causing you stress. Child. If that's the case, then, Candace, congratulations, I'm proud of you. But all jokes aside. This is sad because I know how much she loved this job, and I know how much she wanted it, and I don't feel right about this. I think Candace had a couple more years before quitting or saying her goodbyes. For now, she says. And that's the other thing. Hey, she said, this is not a farewell but a see you later. So are we going
to see you nine months later? Candace? Wink wink? Or should I say so? The question remains, did Candace quit? Or did Candace get fired? Now, y'all know, I like to keep it real. That's what I do here, and I love all the girls. The only housewives I've known to quit has been Lisa Vanda Pump, Bethany Frankel, Adrian maloof Monique Samuel's, and Portie Williams. They were not demoted to friend of and then quit. They all quit their full time housewives role. That's what I know for sure, Honey.
As a fact, when it comes to Candace, people are asking did she quit or was she let go? I think that remains to be seen. If we get an announcement in a few more weeks. After maybe twelve weeks, we'll get another announcement perhaps, and I think that'll indicate something interesting about this decision. Nevertheless, Candace, you were fantastic on this show. We're sad to see you go. You're funny, you're beautiful, you're talented, you are as real as they come.
You wear your hard and your sleeve. You know how to read the girls, and you're funny. And I hope this is not the last that we will see of you. I hope that we're able to continue to see you on the road. Buy some music. Honey. You're great television, and it makes me sad that this did not work out for you the way you thought it would. Being on reality television is a very tough gig. And Baby, you rose to the occasion every chance you got. And I'm so so proud of the amazing, amazing strides you
made on this show. You may be gone, Kansas, Dilla Bassett, but you are never forgotten. Child. We are just getting started. Ooh, rain drops. One thing about me, my hydration style means a lot to me. As you all know, I'm a workou fanatic. I have so many jobs that hydration keeps me going. And the way I like to quench my thirst, Baby, I like to sip and see No, not phad edres. Sip and see child when she gave us Prince Aiden. Honey,
I'm talking about you. Sip on the liquor, baby, and you see how it works, which brings me to Liquid IV. Liquor IV is so good, let me tell y'all. It quenches my thirst fast and the water alone. It also has three times the electrolytes of the leading sports drink, plus eight vitamins and nutrients for everyday wellness. And Baby, the best part it all comes in a single sugar free stick. Yes, baby, no sugar. My favorite flavor of
Liquor IV would be, of course, honey white peach. So what I do is I get my glass of water, I pour this single sugar free stick in and I stir it up. I'm doing your right now as we speak, and let me take a sip for y'all. I know y'all can't see me, honey, but you can hear me. Yes, there is nothing honey like a peach wink wink. When I'm on the go and I need to pick me up I love using LIQUORIV because it involves so much electrolyzed and vitamins that it really does keep me going
and it keeps my energy going as well. So when I have all these things I have to do for the rain Drops child, whether it's going on tour that I'm doing this year, creating shows, looking at shows, etc. LIQUORIV helps me and my day keep going. However, you hydrate, grab your Liquor IV Hydration Multiplier sugar free and bulk nationwide at Costco. Or get twenty percent off your first order when you go to liquidiv dot com and use the code king ki ng at checkout. That's twenty percent
off your first order. And when you shot Better Hydration today using promo code king ki ng at liquidiv dot com. This is reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King. Let's get back into the show. Now. Allegedly, Candice Dillard Bassett is not the only one Baby who is leaving the show, according to the Jasmine Brand. Now, this one is not a surprise to meet one hundred percent, and
I also think is very very necessary. The Jasmine Brand has reported that Robin Dixon is not returning to the real Housewives of Potomac Child The Jasmine brand is so shady. They said network sources. How you call out your source? Now everybody at Bravo is going to check the emails of every employee there to see which one of y'all contacted the Jasmine brand at Yahoo dot com. I mean, what are we doing here? Not network sources? You could
have just said sources. This is the shadiest. Journalism is dead, and speaking as a journalist, you can't reveal your sources. You have to just say sources. For you to say network sources. So now we know it's somebody who actually works at the network. Lord jesus, what are we doing any who? Network sources tell us that Reduction is shaking up the cast, trying to revive the series. Now, spoiler alert.
When I said to you guys, three Potomac Housewives should be removed next season, Robin Dixon was definitely one out of the three. I know Robin. I like Robin. I think she's a great girl. I said this once, and I'll say it twice, and I'll say three times, four and five, maybe six, eight, nine and ten if I feel like it. It was time for Robin to go Robin is not meant to be on reality TV at this time to me, because she's not giving us the goods. She appears to be very guarded when it comes to
her personal life. I think Robin has coasted for the past six seasons. She is an og and she is Giselle's literal Robin. Gizelle is Batman, Robin is her, Robin Batman and Robin. It can't get any better than that, baby, Kobe. I can't even call you Shaq, Robin. Let me call Larcea Pippott and Marcus Jordan to get some more athlete references, because it was Kobe as Shaq. Who else was on the Lakers? But was it Dennis Rodman? Okay? So is Giselle,
Kobe Bryant and Robin Rodman. That's your day, Robin Rodman, You're Dennis. Okay, there we go. So I believe that Robin's lasted this long because of her friendship with Gizelle, and they played off of each other well, and at the end of the day, the only real friendships that will last until the end of time that is not made for television, Hey, Gar Solon Sutton, that is not an alliance, Okay? Is Robin and Giselle in addition to Mary,
Saul and Alexia. They're real friends in real life and will always be friends with or without the TV show. So we know that. But I do believe that Robin was on the show this long because of that. I think once wants cheating became a main storyline, Robin's staying power was tested. Can you handle this? Not? Everybody can't handle being the star of the show, the force multiplier, the main girl. A lot of y'all can't handle that. So Robin had an opportunity to really be, at least
for one season, the face of the season. You had this incredible storyline between you and one and you did nothing with it. You literally played in our faces. You gave a scripted conversations between you and Wan and you and the girls, and you never once wore your heart on your sleeve. That's when we knew, like, you can't handle being the main girl. You are a background singer.
You are supreme. You set up there and had Mia Thornton, which, by the way, guys, Sunday Nights finale of the Real House Spots of Potomac, those last ten minutes of Mia and Gordon was the best I've seen in the history of the franchise. Robin, you should be ashamed of yourself. Robin, You've been on the show for eight seasons and gave us nothing. Nothing. Mia came in and gave us paternity scandal, cheating, hauled passes, big feet, Mia blyon. He's secured in the bag.
Mia has two men in her life. Mia gave us three sums strip Club and Robin. You gave us silk hats, which by the way, was lucrative, and you've done nothing with that. And I like you, Robin. You know that. I think you're a great girl. I do believe Robin was fired. I don't think Robin quit. And I hate to say this, but she should have been. Mia came in like a wrecking ball, Miley Cyrus style, and Mia is going to single handily revitalize the Real Housewives of
Atomac and Baby I'm here for it. Mia is a star and Mia is going to captivate this audience in a way that we needed. We were rooting for you, Robin. I have never seen a girl have so much set up to be the a story, the main story, and you allowed your insecurities to not give us what we wanted the fact that Wan did not even show up to the reunion, and you're the breadwinner. Gordon shows up to the reunion and not Wan. You couldn't tell your
husband the money that we're making off of Potomac. And I believe at this juncture, Robin's making at least a million dollars maybe nine hundred thousand. That's a lot of money. And you mean to tell me Wine couldn't sit on a stool behind you for two hours to make sure that you had your job secured. That's fucked up. And now you don't have a job when you had the best potential storyline. This shakeup is what was needed. I'm shocked to see Candad leave. I thought it should have
been Ashley, No shade. Well, damn. I gave y'all two out of three. Damn, and I'm not gonna take it back. All jokes aside. Listen, it's not fun for anyone to lose their job. But it's one of those things where let's have a real conversation. It's one of those things where when you have a show like the Real Housewives of Potomac that was constantly compared to Atlanta Housewives because they're all black women. Let's let's let's keep it real. But Potomac was on the verge of succeeding Atlanta, at
least when it came to conversation. Even ratings perhaps right, But these past two seasons were dreadful, and I'm happy to see at least some changes being made. One thing about Potomac that I would give them they always get the casting, right, I would give them that they always get the cast. So I am looking forward to seeing some new faces. But like I said, Baby, build this
show around Mia. As you all watched the finale, what Mia gave was some Monica Garcia type of reality, just real, nonscripted. Gordon kept walking off the scene. The producers had to talk him off the ledge. He told her, if you want fair, go to a carnival. Yes. Peter Thomas teas the fact that Gordon said, I was going through cancer treatments and I said to you, I will allow you
to pretty much have a hall pass. And Mia took that hall pass and went to the second floor of the gymnasium and got rekindled with her foot locker boyfriend that she met at seventeen. Baby called Ink Honey, Incognito, who I interviewed for the podcast because I already knew that Mia was gonna give us some great story. So if you missed that interview, go check it out. His name is Incognito, but for short, we call him Ink, or if you like me, we call him Baby Forrest Whittaker.
He's very handsome. I love Ink, very handsome, very nice. He's my guy. The best part about that finale was Mia scene. And the best part about this scene was Gordon was throwing out so many accusations, and bitch Mia did not deny any of them. She did not say you fucking lying. Mia did not deny any of the lies, y'all, and I love her even more for it. When he said to her, our son said, why is mister Ink always with mommy? Mommy's trying to replace you, daddy with
mister Ink. We saw mister Ink and Mommy kissing, like Mia, yo, you making up for the kids? What in the Monica Garcia mama in the in the front seat of the car by Monica's in the back seat? Is going on here? Mia, You tough girl, not kissing in front of the kids. But this the gag at the end of the day. Is it, Karma Gordon, Because when you met Mia, Mia was with Ink and they lived together, and you still decided to buy her a car while she was in
a whole ass relationship with Ink. See how those tables turn. You took Mia away from Ink, and ten plus years later, maybe twenty even Ink is back in MIA's life. I love it. I love the fact that Mia had the opportunity to go back an athlete, apology titian, a ups worker, the bus driver, baby, an actor, and Mia decided to use her goodies with an ex boyfriend. Y'all can call
Mia a lot of things. Mia ain't honing around sleeping with everybody in the DMV like some of her castmates are allegedly me ain't trying to find somebody off summer House child. Mia ain't going on to Bravo Khan finding her man. Mia said, what my hall past is going to be with my first love? And I think that's as I think that's admirable. But that's the reason why we love Mama Mia. Mama Mia is now the face
of Potomac. Mama and Mia took Gizille's first chair. Mama Mia gave us the realest scene the Real Housewives of Potomac has e a given. Mia is the star of Potomac, and dare I say, Miya is the Porsche of Potomac. She's the unsung hero. She was the dark horse. And y'all need to build this show around Mia the way y'all are building the next season of The Rough Housewives of Atlanta around Porsche allegedly. I want to see more, Jacqueline.
I want to see the paternity test. I want Maury Povich to come out of retirement and give a DNA test results to Mia and Gordon, because baby, when Gordon spilt that tea and said, you told me you don't even know if the baby in your belly is mine or inks because the overlap, it's a little sketchy baby, that's the gag. This is the reality that we want. This is it, This is it. I'm here for it. I'm here for it all. Mia Thornton, congratulations, you have
just bought yourself at least four more seasons. And listen to me, and listen to me now. Now that you are becoming the face of Potomac, be prepared for some of these girls to come at you. It's a doggy dog world. Bitch, and I promise you this. They're watching you, but I believe you can handle it. I never thought I see the day where Mia Thornton is the face of the Real Housewives of Atomac and Mia, you have the opportunity to take this show to a level that
we have never seen before. Buckle up, bitch, the time is now. Thank you for listening to Reality with the King. New episodes drop on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Share, comment, follow,
