All the news about people canceling their contracts nationwide … is it because they are still trying to buy at their 2021 buying power and not accepting that the interest rates will no longer support that same amount of house?

I’m just confused as to why so many people are pulling back if they already knew the new rates when they made the offer? Or are these people with new builds and no rate locks ?
