#5 – Germany Is Opening Its Borders

With its shrinking young population and lack of skilled workers to occupy the job market, Germany plans on issuing the 'Chancenkarte' or 'Opportunity Card' to foreigners so they can enter the country and look for work more easily. This idea and its execution have been met with criticism, but it seems clear that some German officials believe that the English language and skilled workers from abroad are key to the country's economic growth.
