Episode description

Sadly 1 in 4 young people experience mental ill-health each year. We know that parents want to know what signs to look out for and what to do if something seems off with their teen.

Host Melissa Hoyer will speak to a Youth Ambassador Mimi and Child and Family Practitioner Peter about supporting teenagers through tough times. We’ll be discussing

Today's conversation covers themes including:

  • how to open up conversations around mental health
  • coping skills for anxiety and depression
  • how to get help (and who to get help from),
  •  the importance of self-care and more.

The panel will be answering questions submitted by parents on ReachOut.com/Parents before the taping as well as questions submitted during the conversation via Facebook where the conversation originally took place live.
