Re-Arranged Episode Eight: Pru Urvu

Welcome to the Eight episode of Re-Arranged, a podcast about the FYI show Arranged. We, like the show, follow three couples as they prepare for what the show says is an “arranged” marriage.

After an initial recap of what happened to each couple in this weeks episode, we focus on the law of Pru Urvu “Be Fruitful and Multiply”. To discuss this issue, host Darone Ruskay brings in Rabbi Stephanie Ruskay, Associate Dean of the Jewish Theological Seminary’s Rabbinical School (and his “we’ve Pru Urvu’ed enough” wife), to discuss the background of the commandment, and the ways in which the capacity or circumstances of a couple should be factored into the decision to have or not have many children.
