The autonomic nervous system is a complex subject as it controls a lot of different processes in the body. On this episode, our amazing guest Professor Lisa Mayo will take us through the ins and outs of the ANS and help us relate this back to pharmacology and dental hygiene treatment. In this episode we’ll talk about the differences between the Sympathetic & Parasympathetic nervous systems, the responses associated with each of these systems, how these relate to dental hygiene treatment, examples of the associated drugs, and how to recognize the key points in a board question to answer it with confidence!
