Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Vince McMahon, Mankind & Kane are all absent from the show so a lot of midcard guys get their opportunity in the spotlight this week. Matches include Marc Mero vs Miguel Perez, Edge vs Jeff Jarrett, and Kaientai main event the show against DX.
On Nitro The Warrior continues playing games with Hollywood Hogan and the nWo Black and White. Kevin Nash tries to get Diamond Dallas Page to join the Wolfpac, but Nash's request turns into a tag team main event where DDP teams up with Roddy Piper to take on Sting and Lex Luger.
