Speaker 1

Welcome to the Ravens Presspass podcast. The Ravens brought the new year in in style with a fifty six to nineteen win over the Miami Dolphins to clinch the number one overall seed in the AFC and an AFC North Championship. It was quite the scene inside Mt. Bay Stadium as the Ravens just delivered a commanding, dominant performance to take down one of the other best teams in the NFL.

After the game, we had a chance to hear from head coach John Harvill, who discussed what this win means to the scene.

Speaker 2

Okay, thanks for being here. I hope it was entertaining and fun. Couldn't be more proud of his football team, could be more proud.

Speaker 3

Of the fans. Man.

Speaker 4

Our fans were there, They were into it.

Speaker 3

It was loud.

Speaker 2

It was loud from the opening bell. Even with the adversity early in the game. Our fans didn't didn't blink. Okay, they did a great job. I'm proud of them, Proud of the team. I feel like, I feel like I don't know if I've seen a more impressive performance in a game. I'm not sure I've seen a more impressive performance in a season to date, and obviously we have a lot more to do.

Speaker 4

We got a lot of work to do in front of us.

Speaker 2

But it's a mature football team and they understand that, they understand the week the week that it's a one

week challenge. And I just think the way they've approached every single game this year, from the beginning on through versity, travel, quality of opponents we've had to play, to step up and play the way they had and to put an exclamation point on it, triple exclamation points on it with a performance like this pretty much a well rounded, perfect performance like that after the opening bell even that, to bounce back from the beginning of the game, the way

they did it just it says about who they are. And I just have so much respect for him. So what question do you have?

Speaker 5

Last week you called in Lamar Jackson's performance in the MVP performance, what would you say of this performance in this season?

Speaker 4

By yeah, I'd say it's even better.

Speaker 2

I mean, this performance was even better than last week, you know, And he played he played really a great football game. I mean he played a football game. In terms of the passing game. He says on point the pass protection was fantastic, I mean, that's a really good pass rush. Hope Chubb is Okay, be praying for him. He's he's one of the best players in the National Football League. He was a major contention for us. But

our offensive line just played outstanding. The thing I want to mention too while I'm thinking about it, depth, The depth we showed. We had a lot of guys out in this game, coming off that physical game last week, guys that couldn't end up going couldn't make it for our corners. Where our corners stepped up the way they did. Receivers like Bateman to come out and play the way he did. It was just a very impressive performance. Ben Cleveland came out and played great. And there's a spiritual

depth to this team as well. Okay, that under underlines all that you know, and I think that kind of where the real power comes from.

Speaker 6

John, John, were you starting to consider continuency plays that corner there, especially when.

Speaker 4

The worthy went over, Well, yes, you play the guys you got.

Speaker 2

I mean, Darryl was was back up for an emergency, so they told us if we had an emergency, he could go back in.

Speaker 7

So John Big playing.

Speaker 8

The big play in the game that fourth and said in the two minut dal for out time that you went for What went into the decision to.

Speaker 3

Go for it at that point?

Speaker 2

Yeah, well, I mean I feel good about our offense first of all. I mean I felt like we were really doing some good things. And then the kick was tough, the win was coming out of that end, and it was just gonna be a real challenging kick. I thought we had at least as good a chance of making the fourth down as we probably. I mean, Tuck's the best in the business. Tuck was already out there, you know, did that surprise anybody? But he probably would have made it.

But we had a great chance, I thought, to get it and turn out to be.

Speaker 9

The right call down so many bodies in your running backs, I mean, with JK and Keaton being lost with the year, what do you make of especially Justice today kind of stepping out of his utility role and rising above in a couple of different roles for you.

Speaker 2

To Yeah, like we said, I mean Justice is a starting running back too, you know.

Speaker 4

And he played that way.

Speaker 2

I mean he was just he was romping and stomping, man, I mean, just big play after big play, so impressive.

Speaker 4

He's he's that kind of back I think.

Speaker 2

I think, you know, those guys kind of not took it personally so much as but you know, they they're great backscus a great back How about mel goes in at the end of the game and runs the ball the way does you know?

Speaker 4

And sometimes guys just just they work. They work so hard.

Speaker 2

So many players in this league work so hard, and then you know, an opportunity doesn't come.

Speaker 4

But when an opportunity comes.

Speaker 2

To see guys step up the way they have, like Justice did and other guys have, it's just, as the coach man, it just that's everything.

Speaker 4

Massively good.

Speaker 2

I mean to me, that was kind of a part of it that we kept saying, if we can start hitting the deep ball, you know, we can make those big plays, that's gonna that's gonna be a backbreaker, you know, And it turned out to be a backbreaker today.

Speaker 4

It was great to see.

Speaker 3

This team.

Speaker 7

You know, you play next week, you've wrapped up the title.

Speaker 10

Have you given any thoughts with them? Lamar Jackson will play next week.

Speaker 2

I've given a lot of thought to it, uh, And it was all kind of hypothetical until just now. And I'm sure I'll talk to Lamar and I'm sure he's gonna want to play, but you know we're gonna have to talk about that and decide what we want to do. You know, you can only you can only take six players out of the equation. You know there's gonna be injuries anyway, So you know, it's not like the preseason. This is your you got your playing your team, except for whoever you end up taking out. Uh, so we

just gram up to have the conversation. We have not made any decision there yet.

Speaker 3

You mentioned the way you've played against good teams.

Speaker 7

I mean, for the most part, you've not just won those.

Speaker 5

Games, dominated those games.

Speaker 11

That's trying to say about rising to the moment or whatever quality there.

Speaker 2

Is in this team for that Yeah, I mean I think I'm not sure exactly how to define it, but I think you know it when you see it, right, And uh, that's pretty remarkable with these I don't think it's ever been done in the history of the National Football League what these guys have done in that sense. So it is it's it's it's amazing. It's something that they'll have for the rest of their careers.

Speaker 4

We all will.

Speaker 2

But uh, there's a lot of work to be done still, and we're looking forward to the challenge.

Speaker 8

How does the field to have them field fans down secure through through the ABC playoffs?

Speaker 2

It feels great, you know. But you know we're good on the road too, you know, But no, we won't. We like being here. I mean, our fans are incredible, you know, and it's a great place to be and it's loud, and it's fun and and all that, but

you know, you gotta go play well. So between now and then, our focus is going to be on preparation and playing a great football game next Sunday against Pittsburgh coming in here, and then preparing for the first playoff game that we play in the Divisional round and playing our best football in that game. That's everything we do is gonna be locked in and focused towards that, and I know our guys are gonna be looking at it that way.

Speaker 7

Hold on a fight, Well, we'll do two more.

Speaker 12

Childs goes first, Childs and go ahead, child.

Speaker 2

That's true, that's true, And you look at I'm old enough, John.

Speaker 3

You just talked about whole field.

Speaker 8

How crucial was it to earn that extra maybe a couple of weeks, so rest of repreparation for the guys that do need it.

Speaker 4

It's going to be valuable, There's no doubt about it.

Speaker 2

I mean, our guys are going to keep working hard and preparing to be ready to play. They'll practice, they'll lift, they'll do all the things they gotta do. But that extra week is going to be very valuable.

Speaker 4

You have a mission this speed.

Speaker 10

So what did you learn from twenty nineteen when you had this?

Speaker 13

And do you call other coaches and talk to them and ask any advice or suggestions for you?

Speaker 14

I do?

Speaker 4

You know, it's it's I mean, and he's my guy.

Speaker 2

It's kind of hard to call him though, because he's you know, he's also in the playoffs, so he probably don't won't give me any good answers. I'll probably talk to coach Belichick, you know, But really, I think you just got to look at to talk to you guys. I mean, talk to guys like Rowe, talk to guys like Lamar and and come up with a plan. And the biggest thing is gonna be preparation, you know, just the way they prepare for that first game.

Speaker 4

That's it. We remember nineteen.

Speaker 2

I mean, it's not something we're gonna forget and it's gonna be something that's gonna we're not gonna take it for granted, not that we ever would, but it's it's it's one more thing that that kind of makes you who you are at this point in time. So we haven't forgotten that.

Speaker 1

That's that was that coach John Harbaugh. We also talked with quarterback Lamar Jackson. Lamar threw five touchdowns in this victory and kind of put an explanation point on his season and likely wrapped up his second MVP. Lamar talked about this game and his focus going into the postseason.

Speaker 4

Why you seem.

Speaker 8

To you even more excited for stupid than you work with the five you you had?

Speaker 4

Are you just locked in?

Speaker 7

Uh?

Speaker 12

What is it emotions that you were more emotional and more suits touchdown?

Speaker 7

I'm yeah, that's my brother.

Speaker 15

So every anytime he on the field, i'm'a be excited for anything he do.

Speaker 7

You know, I'm a big static regardless any of my teammates.

Speaker 15

You know, I'm that type of player no matter what's going on, what's the situation, you do something nice on the field, I'm gonna I'm gonna be happy for him.

Speaker 7

You know.

Speaker 16

That's all, Laura, what's going through your mind when you're hearing the MVP chants from the crowd throughout the game?

Speaker 15

Uh, you need to finish this game. Like I'm I'm not really paying attention to the the to the chance.

Speaker 9

You know.

Speaker 7

Uh, last year we was.

Speaker 15

The score was looking like that, you know, halftime and stuff like that in third quarter. Then those gods started making plays and we didn't do anything, you know, but all the only thing was on my mind was to finish the game.

Speaker 7

Man, today we did, mar.

Speaker 8

How do you balance the excitement over what you guys have accomplished with you knowing that you still have a lot that you want to get.

Speaker 15

Out, knowing that we still have a lot to get going on. You know, we uh got to finish the season the right way.

Speaker 7

Uh.

Speaker 15

We had one obstacle. We finished that obstacle. We got still as next week, you know. So that's how I'm that's how I'm staying focused this season. Just take it in one game at a time, Like I've been preaching you guys all season.

Speaker 16

Why wasn't too how important wasn't to you know, win this game, get the top seed? You know, the the road of the Super Bowl runs through you know, Baltimore obviously how important one could get it today?

Speaker 7

Uh, it was very important. You know.

Speaker 15

We had uh a lot of guys you know, banged up, you know, nipped up with injuries, guys who couldn't play. We had guys who stepped up or knew the situation and they played lights out, you.

Speaker 7

Know all phases.

Speaker 15

Uh, we all know it's important for us to get this win, and and we did just that.

Speaker 3

You are it's very tough when uh Mark Andrews went down.

Speaker 14

Yeah, can you.

Speaker 16

Describe them Bornsville having played like Charitie Caller and they say likely to step up the way they did.

Speaker 15

Yeah, man, we we need guys, well, I I believe are at the cost a door. Great job at you know, going after guys who who gonna have that raven in 'em already, you know, establishing 'em since college and probably use football stuff like that. Uh hatch off of those guys for bringing players like Charlie and Likely and you know, and those guys just football players and they short you know, day in and day out.

Speaker 10

Mark, does that.

Speaker 8

Field you f you know, you clinch the number one T five in two thousand nineteen.

Speaker 10

Yeah, does it feel any different.

Speaker 8

Today clinching in this you know, how do you do that compared to to when you clinches this in two thousand.

Speaker 10

Nineteen at all?

Speaker 15

Uh, the only difference is I'm older. That's the only difference in different guys. Who's a part of this team now? So that's the only difference.

Speaker 8

Oh right, but you, uh, how do you you know you talk a lot about being the underdog.

Speaker 12

Well, how do you keep the underdog mentality after you struggle comes to fail?

Speaker 15

Because we know the the favorites on the favorite because of what they've been doing. Uh, we been the underdog all season, even all season, you know, we like to keep it that way and just keep that on our mindset. We don't fall into the the narratives of things changing. You know, just last week we were about to get

toe up. Uh you know however they said it. But our team, you know, we we take that to heart and we go out there and play football, and that's what we know we did, That's what we supposed to do. You know, we can't go out there thinking since we the favorites, teams just gonna buy down and just play.

Speaker 7

How we want them to play. You gotta go take it and that that's what we do.

Speaker 12

Well Mark for you personally, how important has it been to finish this regular season strong, especially after missing the last two decembers.

Speaker 7

Uh F, I just thank God for that, you know.

Speaker 15

Uh I should have started to press off by thanking God, you know from what you say. You know, the last two season, I wasn't able to, you know, fight with my team. You know, I had to do it from sidelines and just cheer God's on. But I'm grateful for the opportunity, you know, and we numb I want to see now, you know, we just gotta finish the season how we supposed to.

Speaker 9

Oh Wright, you mentioned to the beginning of the season, get the end and he's the offense.

Speaker 7

Yeah, you pre few people were all cool things like that. I hope you just started to comfort.

Speaker 10

Lee on the confidence at this point in the season.

Speaker 7

I'm very confident.

Speaker 15

I I I feel like sometimes I try to let plays, certain plays on the field play out, but sometimes I gotta, you know, make a check here and there. And uh that Pastor Odell was one of the prime examples. You know that that wonderfu catch he did, you know, but me just checking just saying it was man coverage and stuff like that. Uh, just having the freedom to do without you know, what I see or do whatever I want to when I see things out there on the field.

Speaker 7

That's great for me.

Speaker 10

Morl kind of rhythm.

Speaker 17

Will we start talking bunking on the field late in the game.

Speaker 7

Yeah, that's crazy. I ain't nothing.

Speaker 15

I wasn't expecting to see him til we got in the locker room. But for him to be on the field, I'm like, this, man is funny.

Speaker 12

What kind of rhythm was he in as a play?

Speaker 15

Called man that? That's the type of game I like. You know, he was dialing it up, you know, being aggressive. Uh, but he was letting me be the decision maker. You know, I can be aggressive or just take what the defense give us. And you know it was hand to hand with that. And that's pretty much how I liked the game to go. And he did a great job today.

Speaker 17

La marn Fine touched down passes perfect Casher rating.

Speaker 3

Did you feel like you were in a in a zone out there?

Speaker 7

Uh?

Speaker 15

I feel like I feel like if if you could tell you in his zone, you're not in his zone, you know. So I was just trying to focus on a play, you know, whatever play he called, just focus on that play. You know, I got a ball in my hand, made something happen, you know, just take advantage of what the defense gave me.

Speaker 7

And that's pretty much what it was. So yeah, I was just locked in.

Speaker 1

I was quarterback Lamar Jackson. We also heard from linebacker Rookwan Smith, who came up with a one handed interception in the win. Brokamo was the the locker room seemed like after excused be a a big win like this.

Speaker 18

Honestly, I got the tail end of it because I was out trying to make sure, like some of the fans that get out here don't have many chances and stuff, trying to sign things and just take pictures along the edges.

Speaker 17

So I was more so doing that.

Speaker 18

So I missed it, but you know I heard about it, and then the after mask, you know a lot of really good pictures with the guys and just you know, celebrating the hard work, but knowing we obviously got a long ways to go.

Speaker 12

Real qull what you're saying about this team over the last six days, you got the traction with prestments in New Year's played Serrancesco Miami and I have scored them eighty nine to thirty eight.

Speaker 17

Honestly, man, I just think, uh, it's just adversity.

Speaker 18

Look at versity in the face and like I always tell the guys, chin up, chest out.

Speaker 17

Like we don't bow down for anything. All you can do.

Speaker 18

People make excuses with adversity and we just produce. I'm in the result making business and the guys in the locker room is in the same type of business. So regardless getting back at nine on what Tuesday, and then you know, having to role. But at the end of the day, life is not about excuses. It's about what you're gonna do and play the cards at You're a delt Man. That's how I lived my life and that's how the guys in the locker room role.

Speaker 8

But what adjustments did you make did the defense? I guess as the game went on, because I mean they were gauging you pretty good on first couple drives, but then you guys kind of locked in.

Speaker 7

What did you do to change that?

Speaker 17

Doing what we do?

Speaker 18

And I think that's just getting back to the fundamentals, And you know, hats off to those guys. They actually had a lot of you know, some good plays died up and you know that's credit them. Their coaches they get paid as well, and the players they get paid as well. So when you think about it from that perspective, we just had to settle down and do what we

had to do. And you know, obviously turnovers help any game, So we just got to do we gotta do focus on all the little things and then we do that.

Speaker 17

Man with heard defense to move the ball on consistently broken.

Speaker 1

You think us three d into one head pick and just what you saw in that plight to get to it.

Speaker 18

Yeah, it was kind of funny because the one I think it was on the first or second drive when Ten caught it to our right on the on the Marlow one. I seen it then and I was like, I didn't get that fast enough. So I was like crap, like thinking about it, and I was like, if I get that again with the backfast and then I knew it had to be an inbreaking route, so I said, I'm just run and then if I ran, and I couldn't believe it, and then I seen it, I was like, crap, let me stick this arm.

Speaker 17

Yeah, that's what happened.

Speaker 6

You said last week in an interview that you have no doubt that Lamar's the most valuable player in this league.

Speaker 17

What was it Lake watching perform today year? Uh?

Speaker 18

Yeah, man, I was like a little kid at the movie theaters, except I didn't have popcorn, you know, but it was it was pretty sweet, man. And like you know, the guys of Warrior, you know, busses tail day in and day out, and you know, come out here, we at the bank.

Speaker 17

He know we have to protect the bank by any means necessary, and he did just that.

Speaker 18

And look what we are and we we go through him. So I'm just proud to be on this team and not going against him. I'll say that Rover Jump said.

Speaker 16

About this team that from top to body, you know, every week you come out, you're not only beating teams, you're dominating teams and the best teams in the NFL. That what allows this team to do that?

Speaker 17

I think it's just each and every person.

Speaker 18

And I try to tell the guys, look yourself in the mirror, know exactly who you are. And each and every person in our locker room know exactly who they are day in and day out, and we know what's on the line. Cause at the end of the day, I try to shift the mindset and knowing that guys

were trying to take your livelihood away from you. When you truly think about it, what you're trying to do for your family, and when you think about that, man, and you play to the last whistle and give everything you got, and how talently we are, I think it just starts at the top as well and building the team.

Speaker 17

So I'm just grateful to be a part of it.

Speaker 18

And I just know at the end of the day, we'll go to war for each other and if we get knocked down, we getting right back up, and you're gonna have to do it over and over because that's the way we're built.

Speaker 10

What does Hope deil advantage mean? You know?

Speaker 17

For pretty bad the bank?

Speaker 18

Man, I never played here prior to coming here, never got a chance to play in Baltimore. But like hearing the fans here, man, this is an amazing atmosphere. I'm grateful to be here and it gets rocking, so I'm excited for whoever it is. Just know we're doing a chin up, chest out. The gotta come through the bank and we're gonna be ready by you what means necessary?

Speaker 10

I see what was it with the injuries? Pouling up on defense team.

Speaker 12

Like you guys, were these guys right for a while, but me king of a really good performance out there.

Speaker 17

I think that just goes back to adversity.

Speaker 18

You look adversity in the face and are you gonna fold or are you gonna stand up to it? And like I always say said that earlier, chin up, chest out, we have that mindset, so we look it right in the face and hey, it's not gonna make us.

Speaker 17

Fold at all. We're gonna go right through it.

Speaker 18

And if it knock us down, we're coming right back for it all because at the end of the day, that's how we're built and that's what we want.

Speaker 17

We want all the smoke by any means.

Speaker 16

Well, you talk about the toughness of Patrick Green, I mean you were helping him off.

Speaker 17

The field of one point on the turnover on downs.

Speaker 3

Just talk about his toughness.

Speaker 18

Yeah, man, Patrick Packlck's funny sometimes, but yeah, he's definitely a he's a tough guy. You know, we're all going through different things and what not. Him as well as

you know guys throughout the defense. You know that's part of the season and that's what you know separates the frauds from the pretenders and all that, all of those things, and I thank him man, you know, he knowing what's at stake for himself, and he knowing how important he is to this defense of being able to just fight, play in and play out, because that truly determines who you are as a person, because hey, everything's not gonna

be all flowers and cake every day. It's about when things get tough, how you stand up, how you look yourself in the mirror. And I know how I think, and I know how he thinks as well. No one that Hey, regardless, I'm gonna be here for each other because at the end of the day, that's what we have.

Speaker 12

Yeah, along those lines, to get a wild card round by maybe produced snapload next week.

Speaker 10

How important it.

Speaker 19

Is that for you for this team at this point in the season, eighteen game season perpective.

Speaker 18

Team season, Yeah, for sure, it's definitely gonna be important being able to uh get some get some rest with the wildcard win. But at the end of the day, we're gonna enjoy us tonight and regardless, like we're not an excuse making business. If it was Thursday, Hey, roll the ball out there. We're gonna be ready, concrete playground, wherever you want it. We're gonna be here, promise you.

Speaker 1

In the locker room, we heard from outside linebacker Dafe Oway, who had a sack in this game and talked about why this defense is the best.

Speaker 3

In the league.

Speaker 14

Would to say about this this defense, I mean, Miami, you know, came in with all these actlades, put up big numbers for this defensive because of this.

Speaker 13

Kind of reform, we number one now, like I feel like, you know, we had guys that were out, We had guys had to step up and play like crucial roles that didn't always get like the most represent it and they were still you know, we had stresses where you know, we had to bounce back. But we have such a resilient team, resilient guys, really resilient you know teammates. So you know, I, like I said, with number one defense, and I feel like, you know, we just proved it the past few weeks.

Speaker 11

You described with feeling on the on the sideline in the locker room. You guys seal you know, seal the gig, get the number one seed. We saw a little bit so far on social media about what the reaction was.

Speaker 4

Like in the locker room.

Speaker 7

But can you describe that for us?

Speaker 11

Just how satisfying it is knowing there's work to accomplish, but to accomplish what.

Speaker 10

You have so far.

Speaker 13

Yeah, it's kind of like like I said, it's a brief signe.

Speaker 10

You know, damn, we just did it.

Speaker 13

You know, you gotta be able to sit back and you know, enjoy and you know, celebrate and thank give thanks to God for what we accomplished, because it's not easy. You gotta see it in seventeen weeks. No one is like us, No one has the record that we have, and there's one you champion, So it feels good. You gotta enjoy everything. Thank God for HER's giving us some days off, so after that we'll be ready for Steelers and ready to take him.

Speaker 10

I'm sorry.

Speaker 19

What was it like watching Lamar Jackson's play to day.

Speaker 13

The past few years? You know, it's not even just today or this season, you know, I just I see it every day. He's magical. I feel like he he sealed the MVP. Lamar has been to him, always been him, you know, when people didn't believe it and then when people believe it. So you know, I'm very proud of him. Right, he told us the beginning of this year that he got us, and you know there was no one that you know didn't believe him.

Speaker 10

So, you know, I'm proud of him.

Speaker 14

Along those lines, Lamor's talk all year about being locked in and kind of take keeping a singular mindset on what you guys wanna accomplish. How does he set the tone in that regard.

Speaker 1

No, and now you got the first round by and all that stuff.

Speaker 10

Yah, it's Lamar. Like once Lamar is locked in, everyone falls suits.

Speaker 13

You know.

Speaker 10

It's like he's our QB.

Speaker 13

You know, he has such influence and like once, like once he really really understands.

Speaker 10

He knows that, like we all just gonna follow the lead.

Speaker 13

And if you could see it this here, like he's locked in, like he's throwing the ball, he's running like he's just trolling the whole offense. So you know, I'm very proud of him. I'm very proud of offense.

Speaker 3

Defense. This defense able to withstand.

Speaker 12

You know, it maintained a great performance out there, even though the injuries keep coming and get coming and.

Speaker 13

Coming, like next man up mentality, we got dogs on this team in every position. That's like first, second, first string, second string, third team. We got dogs. So one guy goes down, one guy gets hurt, we got next dog coming in. So real the number one defense for a reason. It's not just the start, it's just it's the second, third, fourth, Even guys ain't playing.

Speaker 10

Your hasn't even paid you, we have dogs. So I feel like it's that simple.

Speaker 7

You know what I mean.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that was linebacker away. We also heard from full back Patrick Racard, who came up with a touchdown in this win.

Speaker 6

Skating's kind of a test then, to the roster that you have, because guys of defense were dropping the flies. And yeah, they have a couple of key players coming in. Ben Cleveland wasn't really played much this year. Yeah he played.

Speaker 7

Well, it's kind of a testament to you know what, the kind of depth they've built.

Speaker 5

Yeah, I mean I think it's been since week one. I mean, we lost Shaking Gobbins right away. We just lost we lost Mark Andrews a month ago, we lost Keying last week or two weeks ago now, and you know, just been guys on defense and beginning banged up, but they've been coming back.

Speaker 3

I think, like you said, the depth is just there.

Speaker 5

Guys are just when the opportunity comes, they make the most of it. I think it's just a credit to the scouting department of getting them right guys here, the coaches preparing the guys the right way, guys you know, believing in the process and just really just being locked in during the week and just getting ready to play whenever they're you know, the numbers called. And I think we've been seeing it all year. I think we don't skip a beat or lose you know, a step when

guys go down. You now now hopefully you know, guys can come back healthy. We can you know, on to Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

Speaker 3

Comparison, the nineteen are going to be inevitable.

Speaker 17

Do you see the similarities that year.

Speaker 5

It's it's like almost the same last games against Pittsburgh regular season got a first round by I think, you know, we didn't we didn't have the starters play in that last Pittsburgh game, and I think hopefully we do now.

Speaker 3

That's always off the coach Harbaugh and the players.

Speaker 5

That's just me saying that because I think, you know, we had two or three weeks of guys on playing. But yeah, it's kind of funny how it's like that. You know, it's almost the same record for the most part. But yeah, we're all just really excited just how the season has been going, and you know, you still have a lot money to go.

Speaker 14

You're going because the grunt work mostly, but what does it mean to you when you get to the end zone.

Speaker 5

You know, I'm not I'm not here to be, you know, catching balls and scoring touchdowns, but when it happens, it's super cool. We've been practicing that play for a number of weeks, so as soon as it was called, you.

Speaker 3

Know, I was like, all right, spit in my glass. Here we go.

Speaker 5

Make sure I do it right. And I was just excited to be open and have the ball in there. And I'm just just thankful that the ball stuck to my hand and I was able to catch it, and I thought it was it was just perfect.

Speaker 3

It was after we score and talk about the extra point.

Speaker 5

It was we had forty two points, number forty two, so I think it was just meant to be.

Speaker 3

But yeah, it was just just awesome.

Speaker 5

That Monk made that call and believed in me and Lamar to to make it happen.

Speaker 1

How much the game did a monkey call today.

Speaker 3

I think it was awesome.

Speaker 5

I mean, so many guys scored touchdowns, so many guys making great plays. I felt like we were just having great drives. There's a couple drives you kind of done better on, but overall, I mean they're a great team, great defense, and I you put up almost sixty points.

Speaker 8

Lamar obviously have you seen his shame may in particular with Tom Munkins.

Speaker 18

Off the course of this year.

Speaker 5

Yeah, I think Lamar just hit his reads and his progressions are so much quicker and faster, are in decisive, like he knows what he wants to put the ball, and I think we have the weapons to make it happen. Guys are getting open, guys are making the plays when it's needed, and guys are stepping up in crucial moments and they're making the plays.

Speaker 3

And I'm just really proud of everybody.

Speaker 16

If you could take a step back and look at what you guys.

Speaker 11

Have accomplished to this point thus far, how impressive do you think it really is? When you guys are coming out and beating teams every week, not only you know, any NFL team, the best in the league here, I.

Speaker 5

Think it just shows the kind of guys we have in this locker room, the character that we have, it's just it's.

Speaker 3

Really weak to week.

Speaker 5

Like last week we're the underdogs. This week, we're not the underdogs. It's just like we don't really care about all that stuff. We just want to just play ball and just get to work and prepare each week and just play as hard as we can.

Speaker 3

And I think that's what we've been doing.

Speaker 10

I know.

Speaker 17

You can kind of engage with the Ravens Twitter from time to time.

Speaker 2

This week they kind of went to war for Lamar after someone said that he's not quarterbacky enough.

Speaker 3

Did that make your radar at Yeah? I think I saw that.

Speaker 5

I think it was like some GM or DC or something like anonymously said.

Speaker 3

It or something. Really No, I don't know. I don't even know what that means.

Speaker 5

Like he's clearly a quarterback, you know what I'm saying. Like he makes he makes the players in the throws and okay, because he can he can run the ball pretty well, so he's not as quarterback.

Speaker 3

Hey, I don't get it. You know, he's a great player.

Speaker 1

That was full back Patrick Ricarr. We also heard from tight end Isaiah Likely he had a one handed touchdown grab of z Own and he also came up with another score. It was an excellent game from Likely, and he discussed his role in this offense and the growth that he's seen over the past couple of months.

Speaker 19

The skill players that we have that's around Lamar. I mean, anybody can have any given day. I mean they had his first two catches for one hundred yards something, yeah, something, five yard touchdown bait being killed. Oh Dell had a crazy catch. Every tight end scored. So it just shows you, I mean, and then you gotta deal with Lamar.

Speaker 3

So that just shows your kind offense.

Speaker 10

We really have.

Speaker 19

Take us to that money in Agatchuh. You know, just seeing that was man coverage trying to fly and all trying to make the throw easier for Lamar, trying to be friendly, Lamar trusting me, just really throw out the defender's way and trust me and go up and get it. And I got it, and I said, yeah, I got to score this Monghen.

Speaker 1

When that fourth down play was called, did you know that was high likelihood that it was coming to you on that play?

Speaker 19

No, So I really thought, you know, when we went in to the huddle, we called it actual play. So I was like, okay, and then when I seen that, you know, most of their guys are up on the line, I said, okay, man coverage And I mean technically I am the you know first and progression, so you know, trying to be as you know, win my routes that's.

Speaker 3

Possible to help him.

Speaker 10

Out and it was what it was.

Speaker 4

So you guys have been practicing since the spring.

Speaker 14

Manich what to it mean to a team when you flinch a division title and the top senior?

Speaker 10

I mean it means the world.

Speaker 19

I mean it just shows you guys, you know, the preparation, you know, all the hard work we put in the off seasons out but that's just one more step in our road to where we really want to get to.

Speaker 5

What you make of Justice is David and obviously a big game as a receiver, big gamers returner.

Speaker 3

How is he kind of hung in there.

Speaker 19

And to have a performance like this, I mean he showed you who kind of Becky is. I mean, all our backs are electric, they all do there what they do, especially I mean he had a great game. Gus had a great game, and then even Melvin came in and showed you guys that he's keptable of So I feel like you know every skill position, you know it does

their craft. There's a reason everybody's here on the Ravens, so showing what they perfect and showing how you know what happens when the ball's in the hand, the sky's will move.

Speaker 14

It was a year as obviously growing since since Mark went down, and you've made most of it.

Speaker 1

And how would you describe your confidence kind of grown over the past couple of months as you set.

Speaker 4

Into his finger up.

Speaker 19

I mean, I feel like my confidence grows more in practice. I mean trying and understanding. You know that tight end road means a lot. I mean just understanding that you know I'm gonna have I'm gonna mess up here and there. I mean that's what comes with, you know, going against the best in the league day in the day out, but under saying that, you know, as long as me and Lamar and me and Monkey on the same page, and coach GOTSI trust me and put me in the game, you know, just showcase my talent.

Speaker 3

Would you think you saw Monkey on the sidelines.

Speaker 19

The d I mean I heard that he was trying to come down with four minutes left, so you know, trying to see him come down early. That's always a good thing because that means you know, the game set and stuff.

Speaker 9

Was monking more in his bag when he's calling players.

Speaker 19

And when he was dancing on the side, probably dancing on the sideline coordinator.

Speaker 7

D like that.

Speaker 10

No, I.

Speaker 1

That was Isaiah likely. You're listening to the Ravens Press Past podcast.
