Episode description

The European Parliament has approved preliminary versions of the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) and the Transfer of Funds Regulation, measures that will increase certainty for digital asset companies, investors, and users. Final passage is a virtual certainty. At the top of today’s Real Vision Crypto Daily Briefing, Elaine Ly and Ash Bennington discuss what the bills mean for the industry and when they will become law in Europe. Elaine and Ash also talk about Coinbase getting the required In-Principle Approval for a license to run regulated crypto services in Singapore and an awkward situation for OKX – the Seychelles-based crypto exchange decided to continue to operate in Russia, but it might not be wanted there. Samuel Burke is at the World Blockchain Summit in Dubai, where he asked OKX Global Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique about the situation. Plus, Andrew Cahill, research director at The Block, joins Elaine and Ash to explore cross-chain networks.
