Fear or Excitement? We all feel nervous occasionally, we all feel anxious occasionally - we need to feel these feelings - they are there to protect us - to alert us to potential threats and help us get out of danger if we need to. But what we can do is say, "Am I actually in danger... or am I just a little bit scared?" You see fear protects us from danger, so we do need it to survive - but did you know that anxiety has the same physiological symptoms as excitement? So what your child interprets as fear - may actually be excitement! Like before they step on stage, or enter the birthday party.
