Previously, she was a Senior Community Health Specialist with the Health Council of South Florida (2008-12); Program Officer with Planned Parenthood Federation of America responsible for financial and technical management of reproductive health programs in Guyana, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago (2002-08). Ms. Garcia also volunteered in Honduras with the Peace Corp from 1998-2000. She holds earned an MPH degree from Hunter College.
