#1: Casie Lucas-Szumigala

Casie is the owner of Click Pragmatics, which offers consultative services and development of customized communication systems to assist with clear and accessible communication within businesses. A Speech Language Pathologist by trade, but an advocate, collaborator, and educator at heart. To her, communication is the root of everything. It is the thread that keeps us connected with one another for meaningful relationships and fulfilling lives. Thanks to her education at Gallaudet University, becoming fluent in American Sign Language, and subsequent professional experiences, she is a specialist in her field working with children and adults who are deaf and hard of hearing Casie also worked as a faculty member in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department at PennWest Edinboro, an Early Interventionist in VA, DE, and PA, and a Communication Consultant in schools and agencies across the state. In 2017, Casie made her debut on the TEDxErie stage with her passionate talk about every human's right to accessible language and communication and in 2019, she was a Highlighted Presenter at the PSHA Convention in Lancaster, PA. After over a decade of working for schools and non-profit agencies, she has decided that now is the time to nurture her entrepreneurial spirit and have an impact on a larger scale.
