Episode description

In developing news overnight, the European Union will suspend retaliatory tariffs on goods from the United States.

The suspension is scheduled to take effect later today in the hope of reaching a trade deal with the Trump administration by the end of the month.

It comes after US President Donald Trump sent a letter announcing new tariffs of 30 per cent on all goods imported from the EU and Mexico from August 1.
