Welcome to this special edition of Radio Brews News in which we hear from Kylie Lethbridge, CEO of the Independent Brewers Association about the just-released consultation draft of its Roadmap for the Australian independent beer industry, FutureBrew 2031.
This roadmap is the culmination of extensive consumer research and industry consultation and is an ambitious plan for the industry, including tackling a lot of challenges such as what does independence mean for the consumer.
In this conversation Kylie takes us through the key areas of the roadmap, and I dig into a little more background about what they means for sensitive topics such as association membership changes, the challenge as major retailers become the biggest customer and a growing competitor to small brewers and the vexed issue of tap contracts.
