Andy Scade and Mike Morgan - WABA

This week we speak with Andy Scade and Mike Morgan, the President and Secretary of the West Australian Brewing Association.

WABA as it is known, was the first association representing the interests of Australia’s nascent craft brewing scene of microbrewers as they were then known. They are also the last, as the various state bodies have elected to join the IBA as state chapters, something that WABA has declined to do.

With more than 50 members, it has developed into a vibrant state association and has recently launched its new look and new branding and a campaign urging West Australians to Drink West, Drink Best.

We speak to Andy and Mike, who work for Lion-owned Bevy Brewing and independent Blasta Brewing about WABA and what makes WA a little different to the eastern states that have chosen independence as a flag to rally around.
