One of the requirements for Surgical Trainees is the RACS Surgical Education and Training interview. If you’re a junior doctor who has yet to face your questioners, don’t fear! With the right preparation, it doesn’t have to be so daunting. Someone who has been through the process is Dr Teriana Maheno, a SET 3 Orthopaedic Trainee in Aotearoa New Zealand. She shares her insights on how the interviews are structured, how to prepare for them, and – importantly – how to manage those nerves on interview day.
