The Derby preview with jockey Rob Hornby

Rishi Persad and Sam Turner kick off series two of Racing Weekly with a packed show ahead of the Derby and the Oaks this weekend at Epsom Downs racecourse.

We welcome guest Rob Hornby to the studio to discuss his first ride in the Derby on 20/1 shot Westover and Tony Elliott joins us to discuss the Rogues’ Gallery Syndicate and the chances of his supplemented filly Rogue Millennium in the Oaks. Later, bet365’s Pat Cooney talks through who you, the punters, have been backing for the classics.

Before we get into this episode though it felt only right to acknowledge the sad passing of the legendary jockey Lester Piggott. He won the Epsom Derby a record nine times as a rider spanning four decades.
