Episode description

Harry Derham started his career as a jockey enjoying three years in the saddle, riding 50 winners including a winner at the Cheltenham Festival aboard Salubrious. After identifying his love for racing was not in the saddle Harry retrained at Paul Nicholls’ stable and quickly became a vital part of his team as Assistant Trainer, a role he held for six years.

Now, going it alone with his own team, he trained his first winner on Boxing Day in 2022, his first ever entry no less, as Seelotmorebusiness won well at Huntingdon.

For this week's episode of Racing Weekly we sent Sam Turner to Harry's yard at Frenchman’s House Stables to talk about his string of talented horses and the pressures of running a National Hunt stable with a raft of famous sporting owners including former football manager Harry Redknapp, Ryder Cup winner Graeme McDowell and England cricketer Jamie Overton.
