Episode description

Rishi Persad and Steve Ryder welcome Kate Tracey to the Racing Weekly studio to review the weekend winners just gone including Shishkin's victory in the Denman Chase, who was very kindly Super Boosted by bet365 on the day. He beat Hitman by 4 ¼ lengths and is now 9/1 ante-post for the Cheltenham Gold Cup if you were impressed with that performance.

We also touch on a change in tactics in the Game Spirit Chase for Edwardstone, who won by 40 lengths(!) from Funambule Sivola. The winner is now 8/1 third favourite for the 2024 Champion Chase with bet365. Elsewhere there were wins for Iberico Lord in the Betfair Hurdle, the NAP for Steve Mellish in last week's show, and over at Navan both Hiddenvalley Lake in the Boyne Hurdle and American Mike in the Ten Up Novice Hurdle won their races.

Looking forward, we preview the 2024 Ascot Chase where there are five entries of L’Homme Presse, Pic D’Orhy, Ahoy Senor, Fakir D’Oudairies and Sail Away. In the 2024 Kingwell Hurdle preview we look at seven entries including two-time winner of the race Goshen who faces Rubaud.

As always we'll be giving our best bets for the weekend with one eye on the Cheltenham Festival 2024 as we look to unearth some ante-post tips along the way.

Racing Weekly is brought to you by oddschecker, in association with bet365.
