Episode description

Managing children and families of children who are above a healthy weight is often difficult. Referring families to specialised services and programs can help re-focus families toward a healthy lifestyle, often without pharmacological or surgical intervention. Go4Fun is a free, NSW health, evidence-based program for children aged 7-13 years who are above a healthy weight and their families. The 10 week program involves weekly two hour sessions and focuses on healthy eating, physical activity and behaviour change. Clinicians can refer through a number of referral pathways and are kept informed of families’ participation in the program.
